Over the last few weeks, there have been huge strides towards what many see as a takeover of some kind at Leeds. Many see it as investment only, but I've always maintained a takeover will happen, with current chairman Massimo Cellino keeping a minority stake. Today, interesting developments with companies house showing that shares worth £24 million have been issued. That could certainly indicate a takeover as it would seem a reasonable amount for around 80% of the club (with Cellino keeping 20%). May just be movement of funds, or setting the club up for a takeover, but an extremely interesting move, and sure more to follow..
Leeds are on the brink of a takeover, with owner Massimo Cellino set to relinquish control. The controversial Italian 'bought out' minority shareholders and former owners GFH late last week, that paved the way for this takeover. Everything is now agreed, with just the formalities to be completed. Various sources across social media agree that this is a done deal. It would appear that Cellino will still hold on to a small stake - which would allow him to cash in if and when Leeds are promoted. In terms of who the new owners is/will be, there are various stories, but the Far East seems the most likely with groups from China and Singapore heavily linked-although they may well be led by the Italian Andrea Radrizzani. He has been pictures with Cellino at games, and h has fronted other buy outs before. Expect an announcement very soon...
