The football league have instructed Leeds owner Massimo Cellino to step down as Leeds owner/director. However, bizarrely, he would be allowed to take over again in March when his conviction is spent. Cellino has 14 days to appeal which will take it to mid December-there will then be more hearings and a verdict-which, if Cellino plays it right, will drag on until the New Year. It could then be that he has to step down for a matter of weeks, before taking over again. I would expect this to be the main body of Leeds' argument-it's a pointless exercise that really aerves no purpose-apart from costing more legal fees.
Without knowing the full rings behind it, I can't see there been much change. Cellino will drag his heels-and if needed, sell to his son for a £1-then but it back for the same fee a few weeks later.. May be more to it than that, but am not expecting Redbull or minime to be next owners..
