Last nights capitulation could be the final nail in the coffin for Leeds manager Steve Evans. The first half showing was quite frankly, an embarrassment, and everyone, players, staff, board, should be ashamed. I can accept players aren’t good enough, but I cannot accept a lack of fight and heart. In the first half last night we got nothing. What summed it up for me was the last minute of the first half. 4 goals down, awful performance, and the game lost. Brighton got the ball and passed it around – stringing 20-30 passes together unchallenged, whilst we basically stood and watched them. If my under 8’s team had done that I’d be fuming – for paid professionals to give up was disgusting. Where was the leadership – on or off the pitch – where was the pride? I would rather lose 10-0 and go down fighting than give up and hope for no more damage….
Evans has his limitations as a manager, but he’s just another sacrificial lamb for Cellino. It follows the same sorry pattern. Get a cheap manager in, watch him do exactly the same as the last manager, then sack him…and repeat the process. We all know that our club is rotten – really rotten – it stinks. It’s a toxic club, and, whether you support the owner or not, that comes right from the top. Supporters are divided, players have no idea who the manager will be from month to month, McCormack and Byram have been sold and the money not invested back in the team. The supporters have rightly had enough. Cellino, for me, needs to go, and now, more than ever, is the time for the business men of Leeds to come together and save this club.
This isn’t just another club, this isn’t a small team with lofty ambitions…this is Leeds United, a team screwed over by a succession of owners and on it’s arse. The players, coaching team and owner need to have a look at themselves and do the right thing…
