Is Cellino the reason McDermott remains...

11/3/2014

Thirty Eight days ago, Leeds United sensationally sacked and then re-instated Brian McDermott as manager in a somewhat bizarre and in-ept first display of management by prospective owner, Massimo Cellino.  At the time, the Leeds fans condemned the actions by way of a short taxi chase around Beeston, but a month later, things are very different around Elland Road.

The fans are warming to Cellino, maybe not quite with open arms yet, but it's getting there as pub conversations about manager sackings, ground relocations and previous convictions are fading away to be replaced with talk of investment, passion and his daughter!

Meanwhile the fiercely defended Brian McDermott is not enjoying a great run of form, most recently with a 5-1 thrashing at Bolton on Saturday, and the fans are noticing.  A desire to stick with certain players, regardless of form or previous displays is proving frustrating for many spectators, and patience is thin.
Within five weeks, the tide has turned and the fans have gone from doubting Cellino but supporting McDermott to the exact reversal.  In an ironic twist the, the very man that was responsible for sacking McDermott, could now, indirectly, be the reason he remains.

The long drawn out takeover still rumbles on.  All eyes were drawn to the Football League for the much anticipated 'Fit and Proper' test but with no announcements made or expected, Leeds United is in limbo.

GFH-C, still officially in charge are limited in what they can do.  Cellino is expected to take charge, but they cannot start running the club his way yet just in case the sale fails to complete and they need to turn to other potential buyers.  Cellino meanwhile learnt the hard way what can happen when premature decisions are made.  If anyone at the club wants to make a decision about McDermott, it may well be that no-one can at the moment.

McDermott meanwhile must remain focus with matters on the pitch and a chance to overturn the disappointment of Saturday with a visit from Reading at 7:45pm tonight at Elland Road.  Expect the manager to make changes on the pitch, even if changes cannot quite be made off it....yet!

Yes their is a weird sense of irony that whilst BMcD moans about the uncertainty surrounding the club it is precisely that same uncertainty that is currently keeping him in his job.

A Very Interesting Piece Of Writing And One I Totally Agree With I Believe That If Cellinio Was Going To Be Rejected It Would Have Happened By Now The Longer It Goes On The Better It Is For Him

It is not just the players who are inept it is also the tactics, nobody seems to have any idea what to do or how to change a game if things are not working and I am afraid that is the manager. Get it right or go.always try and get a bit of passing passion in the game

I cannot fathom out why we can produce the best performance against the top teams with bags of passion and grit and yet fail to show up at other games, surely their must be something going on in the dressing room that is causing the failure to perform, the club definately need to get this takeover ratified soon. Oh and please please do not put kebe back in the first team again until he can produce what he is capable of in the reserve team.
