Leeds make positive moves-you read that right!

20/6/2016

Leeds have started off the week with a very positive move, appointing Ben Mansford as the new CEO. Mansford has held that position at Barnsley and is well respected-his move to Leeds is a definite step in the right direction.
This is likely to be followed shortly by the announcement of Marcus Antonsson, who is expected to sign later today or tomorrow. The Swedish striker is currently at Kalmar FF where he has scored 22 goals in 44 appearances. The fee is said to be around £1.5 million for the 25 year old who has 10 in 12 games this season.
Leeds are also still keen on Manchester Urltd youngster Ashley Fletcher as they are keen to make a push for a top 6 spot.
I'm not a fan of Cellino at all, but credit where it's due-appointing a decent CEO is exactly what he should be doing, and we should be talking about the football side of the club-not the circus off the field..

I agree. But let us see who we sign, before we can actually assess Mr C's intentions. Promising fans a play off place at least and 25% back if we don't make it is all very well, but it still means he has 75% of the money in his pocket come what may and has 100% of the money for a year to do with as he wants. That's good business. We will only know how serious he is if he brings in defenders and mid-fielders too. We need experienced Championship players in key roles to have any chance of promotion.

Are there any other Championship clubs offering season ticket holders money back? - NO, so they all get to keep 100% of the money irrespective. I just get the feeling some people wouldn't even be satisfied if Cellino paid supporters to come to ER!!

Alienating the chairmen who after all gas to fork out the money to run the club does no one any good. He looses interest in the club starts to gate the fans and hence the club and is less likely to invest , more likely just pay the minimum until he can off load to a buyer. It also is unhealthy for the players to see this ugly relationship between fans and the owner actually quite demoralizing and they start to wonder why al I even here, unlikely to play from the heart. On the other hand to be supportive of the owner and players despite results not going our way more than likely will make both the players and owner to respectively play harder and invest more in the club. So let's stop the negativity and be positive support the club, the owner and his new appointments and let's move forward together. Let's turn a new page and let bygones be bygones

You want a positive sign, look no further than Steve Parkin who was being touted as mounting a takeover bid (that never gained momentum) but has gone on to sponsor the East Stand and shirt. Parkin commands a lot of respect from what I can see and has put his money behind the club and you have to say Cellino as he's still there. Sure, the guy (Cellino) is a living PR disaster, but I've heard a few people connected to him speaking positively,so I live in faith. Notwithstanding, the future of Mowatt, Taylor and most of all Cook will speak most clearly about his and the club's intentions. In Monk, we were all surprised as we finally have a credible (if inexperienced) Manager. With 25,000+ at ER each week, he may well keep 100% of the season ticket sales and we'll be queing up for next season! MOT
