After an incredibly crazy few weeks, it's all gone extremely quiet over the last few days. With no football at the weekend, all eyes were on the off the pitch developments. However, there have been no noises from any of the players as the farce that is our takeover rumbles on.
Do what do we know? Cellino met the FL on Wednesday at his request. The FL for their part have requested, and were waiting for more documentation from GFH and Cellino. Once the paperwork has been presented, it can still take up to 2 weeks for a deal to be ratified. So why did Cellino meet the FL? It was a 3 hour meeting, but no answers-Cellino had gone quiet since, as have the FL, as have Leeds Utd, as have GFH-whereas David Haigh and Salem Patel seem to have vanished into thin air-both previously sharing all sorts on twitter, they seem to have taken a vow of silence.
You would think that the fact all is quiet means that we are at the end game-we are almost there-what 'there' means is anyone's guess, as we are yet to hear from the supposedly madcap Cellino as to what his plans are (apart from to buy back Elland Road).
Which leaves boss Brian McDermott in the same position he was a week ago-in his job, but looking constantly over his shoulder. Leeds have a big game on Saturday when they visit middlesboro, in a game live on Sky. I'm expecting the takeover to be completed later this week, or at least a holding statement with an update.
We all know it needs to happen one way or the other urgently-a takeover with the crazy Cellino, or, it fails, the prospect of administration as GFH appear to have withdrawn their financial support..damned if we do, damned if we don't.. Isn't it always the way with Leeds...
