Leeds takeover-this is the week

17/3/2014

This is set to be a huge week in the future of Leeds United. Prospective new owner Massimo Cellino faces a tax evasion case in Italy tomorrow-the outcome of which looks likely to determine whether his takeover bid is successful. Cellino is not expected to attend the case, leaving it to his lawyers, but make no mistake, tomorrow is a huge day. If Cellino is found not guilty-and it is expected to be a one day case, then I expect him to be announced as the new owner within 24 hours of the verdict. If he is guilty, we could be facing massive financial problems.

The delay has helped Cellino to be fair. A month or so ago, he was public enemy number one-chased out of the Elland road car park.. Now? I think the fans recognise the mess we are in, and have gone from loathing the man, to (almost) welcoming him with open arms..

We will stay close to the court case tomorrow, and expect an momentus week for our club-even by our recent crazy standards..

Cellino is a hard nose businessman and after the sacking I was 100% anti! but I have changed my mind. I am pleased that he has talked with BM but, most importantly, I don't like the way that he has been treated by th FL or the newspapers. There has been too much name calling and mud slinging in my view. Now, he is a Leeds snd that means he deserves respect. Let's hope that he understands our ways of doing things, sense of fair play snd openness. We want an owner we respect for a change. Let's hope that Cellino is that person!

Cellini has a great passion for the game and I believe he will bring that to the club. He is certainly a 'hands on' type of owner and that will offer something very different to the club. I think he's beginning to realise that he won't be able to run it in the same way as he did with Cagliari. Provided he keeps his nose clean, he will have the opportunity to take the club back to the premiership and I think he will do it.

I,m sick of reading the excuses by the manager about team performances I.E. the players are unsettled etc by the proposed take over. Many of the fans and supporters are made redundant and companies close costing them jobs, but they still have to turn up for work and produce the goods to the standards thats expected,So to the manager and players quit the feeble excuses, shape up or ship out.
