The long drawn out takeover (mark II or mark III - I forget) is seemingly lurching from one crisis to another.
When GFH bought the club from Bates, we expected a few years of stability. How naive we were. It soon became apparent that GFH, then GFHc we're not loaded with money, but instead looking to flip us for a profit.
In November, a consortium linked to Lucas Radebe broke cover, only to be sent packing by the owners-leaving the fans searching for the meaning of 'risible' - a few days later, David Haigh, the friendly face of GFHc announced that his consortium were taking us over, and a period of 'exclusivity' had being granted...then...we waited...and waited. Various comments came out from twitter friendly Haigh-deal close, good news ahead, dotting the i's and crossing the t's...and still nothing. Just when we thought it was all falling down around us, the name of 'Cellino' crops up.. An alleged fruit loop Italian-sacking managers at a rate of nearly 2 a year, history of house arrests and court cases, with no past success. Is this what we've become-a play thing for the Italian version of Bates? The worry is that this rumour is growing strength, almost by the hour-as no one from Leeds is dismissing it-whether it's on his own, a rival consortium, or even nipping into bed with Haigh-we, the fans, as usual, know nothing.. I'm going to lie down..for a long, long time, and when I wake, am hoping that the past 10 years have been a bad dream-it worked for Bobby Ewing-but he didn't have a madcap Italian guy dancing in the background..
