Leeds/Red Bull latest

4/11/2014

Red Bull last night released a statement stating they were not in talks to takeover the club or indeed buy a stake in it. This follows a weekend of speculation that they were in discussions with Leeds owner Massimo Cellino.

However, for me, it's what has not been said that could prove interesting. No denial that they have had talks of some kind-no mention of any further talks or discussions-which leaves things like th naming rights for the academy or even ye stadium as possible options.

That wouldn't be RB's normal MO, they tend to takeover lock stock, but there were certainly some discussions last week between the two parties-just no one seems to be saying what about..

Testing the water, I should think.
The big picture to many, as the media portrays it, is...

''A Club in Crisis''

MC said talks were with some guy who said he was an agent for them
which they have denied

Thinking a bit deeper and wider...

MC may sell Leeds when the football is not progressive, his fast action plan is not achieved and he runs out of bullets. But the biggest factor is... when he loses the support of the main stream fan base, which could well happen if ER doesn't get purchased and a few taxis are being harrassed...

Red Bull are looking to embrace a UK Football Club into their sport portfolio, for sure and the structure Leeds has, (including fan base), would come in at circa £150m lower cost than Newcastle.

If they are the Vulture circling over MC's chicken .....
then they'll be back... when the chicken is ailing, imo.
