McDermott post match interview

25/3/2014

Leeds boss Brian McDermott was deflated following the 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth. He said that he's never had a side that concedes goals like we do.

He didn't think the players had given up, but really struggled to come up with anything positive about the game.

He said the first 15 minutes cost is the game, and no excuses, but the off the field stuff is affecting the players-who are talking about getting paid and ownership at training.

He didn't blame any specific players, but was desperately disappointed. He thought the fans were fantastic again.

He went on that It's a very difficult time for the football club.

He said he has no idea if the players will even get paid at the end of the week, and it is incredibly difficult conditions to work in-he is trying to keep things on an even keel and concentrate on Saturdays game.

He said he has never thought of walking away from the club despite it been a tough situation. He again said the ownership situation needed resolving..

Change the record Brian. Stop banging on about the takeover and do your job. Or else do the decent thing. .....

The players don't deserve paying, greedy useless pillocks who are not fit to wear the shirt. A disgrace.

Mac you are the manager, not the financial director , owner or anything else concern yourself with on the field issues and stop blaming your ineptitude on off the field issues. This is your team, as for not getting paid they won't starve.

Heard it all before. My company is going through a sticky patch but I'm still expected to turn up every day and earn my salary.
McD is the manager of Leeds United football team (there's a clue what he has to do in his title)

25/3/2014 15:45:20

He is no different to any other manager we have had for years. No money so he has to make do with second rate players, but there is no excuse for the players not to give 1000/0. They are a f..... Disgrace.

Agreee Completely! My sentiments exactly. Ps. Not related.

So drop the players who have lost heart, play our youth team, give them experience and a chance, we will back them as long as they fight.

We can't keep making excuses for the manager and the players.nobody seems to have any idea of what is required.time for a big change.Eddie Gray and Richard Naylor both excellent with young players, as I said before Eddie was sacked for far superior performances than this

I agree. Eddy Gray. He talks sense all day long and has done it all before. In Gray we would trust. Surely we can't get any worse.

I couldn't help think while reading his post match interview that he was trying to mitigate his ineptitude and his teams ineptitude on the off the field matters concerning the ownership. I agree with the other writer in that all he has to worry about is getting a football out on the pitch that can play football. How hard is that ?

McDermott is well out of his depth, just like Kebe and Hunt, who would all rather be at little Reading, where there is zero pressure and everything is easy.
McDermott is once again blaming the off-the-field problems, but why can't his spineless players forget about the clubs problems for 90 minutes and put in a gutsy performance for the loyal Leeds fans?
Is it because most of the players are bottlers and have no guts?
A new manager is desperately needed to kick the players up the backside, instead of a manager who is always feeling sorry for himself and his non-competing players.

Excuses, excuses, excuses. We have all had enough of these sorry excuses!!!

Best result McD has had is thrashing the "small dogs" .... ohhh, hang on a minutes, he wasn't even in the dugout that game ..... now doesn't that make you think !

So they are more concerned about getting paid then than winning games? Absolute disgrace & for McDonut to say that is even more shocking.
Forget the off field problems this guy is well out of his depth - lucky to still be in a job.

Leave now Brian because you are becoming as embarrassing as the farcical takeovers.

As for the players then I wouldn't mind if most ofthem left as well.

Fook off the lot of em.

Leeds are a total shambles, the laughing stock of the footballing world. They are a shower of over paid wasters and I wouldn't be surprised if it's League one next year. No point papering over the cracks. The club is rotten to the core. As for McD, he is way out of his depth. Do the honorable thing!

The survival of this club is paramount. Its the ONLY thing that's important right now. We are all, including me banging away on websites, and trying to console each other when the people who control the club, the people who can bloody well do something about it are sitting on their backsides. They are the ones who will WALK away in the end, including the bloody manager with a fat wad in their pockets and live to fight another day. We on the other hand will end up with a second rate outfit, a second rate set up and once again living the bloody dream that just ain't gonna come. We need a MASSIVE protest and show of strength at the next home game just to let the bloody FA and everybody connected to football know once and for all that we love this club and we demand we be listened to. All those great legends I grew up with over 50 years must be turning in their graves.

More excuses, one week it's the takeover, then it's inexperience ( whilst loaning out experienced defenders) He is an average manager with no concept of whee he is taking the club. I remember Lee Bowyer playing out of his skin when he had a prison sentence looming over him. It is complete crap to say the players are affected by the shambles of a takeover. The pitch is the one area of escapism where they should be thriving. The fact that they are playing like complete strangers is down to McD. He is good assistant material, but a manager - not in a million years.

PAUL W

Adam Pope has really started asking the searching questions that all of the Leeds fans would ask and McDermott is getting very snappy about it.
All they seem to care about is getting their undeserved wages and nothing else, it appears.
I would like to see how they would all survive on a Labourers job, working 40 hours a week?, they all wouldn't last 5 minutes.

25/3/2014 17:55:27

the trouble is, Brian has to handle all this club business, rather than just concentrate on the football, because the wankers above him have all bloody scarpered.

you don't hear a thing from them.

apparently they couldn't even be arsed to travel down to the game, sending Dom Matteo in their stead.

Really are we really that shit.......i can't remember a worse time than this season......shocking is an understatement. McCormack should of slid away while he was worth a couple of pennies as should Byram. Where's Red Bull now I was dead against not looking like many options now. I wish they would all do one. As for Mc I no longer have you're back sorry enough is enough step down

Non of us think the ownership will suddenly get better yet week after week McDermott has admitted he is incapable of motivating and managing the team in the current situation.
The current situation will be the situation next week, next season and so on.
If he can't make a positive impact on our players why stay, it looks more like waiting for a payoff every week
I have no respect for him anymore as for the players the guy who mentions Bowyers performances whilst potential jail was hanging over him was right.
Only McCormack comes out of this season with any credit and he will be off at the first chance.
Disgraceful situation, what are the Fl going to do about forcing GFH out as it is clear they are not fit and proper.
Oh wait it's the FL they are loving it

When a pro steps out on to a pitch they don't think about off field problems ,it's a sorry excuse FROM asorry excuse. The worst tactics ,signings & style of play weve ever seen at ER,Ross's goals have kept us up & he had to beg to be played up front,I've argued all season that BMCD s constant selection of Austin would be his downfall ,but it's worse than that ,he has never had aclue who a good player is & wasted money on rubbish when we had youngsters eager for a chance LUFC RIP

Well there shouldn't be any worries who's paying wages they haven't fooking earned any it's a complete disgrace it's easy to blame FL but GFH AND MC need to take there share of blame Cellino should have thought oh this boat thingy could put a spanner in works I know I'll pay what's due GFH for lying from start and saying they could run a football club FL for being totally Incompitant in every way imaginable

26/3/2014 14:51:37

Ok enough of the crap we have had I have an idea don't flame me yet I'm not 100% on the legalities if it can be done cellino has failed but why can't his 2 sons and his daughter buy 25% each in their names get rid of gfh uncle fester sorry bri but enough is enough and the deadwood bring in Stuart Pearce play the kids and the decent players (few I know) and then rebuild properly next season just an idea someone pass it on to cellino please
