McDermott press conference

1/4/2014

Brisn McDermott spoke to the press after the defeat at home to Charlton, insisting 'I'm not walking away'. McDermott, sounding defiant insisted that he'd never walked away from anything in his life. He accepted that ones the ownership is resolved, they may fire him, but he would stick it out. He said on calls for him to quit that he thought it was unfair after everything he'd had to go through.

He added that players hadn't been paid today as had been promised, and David Haigh had been into the dressing room before the game to explain that they would be paid once the appeal is sorted.

He said he and the players were struggling-really struggling, but they needed to stick together and get through it.

Tough times still at Leeds...

Bollocks McDumpty!! Get out now - bloody resign!! You are taking the piss in a serious way now and your inability to do the job has been exposed since January. Go!! Get lost!! You fake!!

So if the appeal should take another month (and let's hope it's resolved by the end of the week) will GFH refuse to pay the next lot of wages?!? If there is no danger off administration David, show us the money
That being said I can't believe we've lost to another bottom of the table team at HOME.

Put in half a shift get half your wages why deserve full??? stop the excuses kiss your badge and mean it and play with pride. The off pitch stuff is disgraceful with GFH non fit owners but desire is required for LUFC's biggest asset the fans!!!

The most surprising thing about the above comments Brian still in charge for tonight's game now 3 wins from 20 and still hiding behind the takeover David Haigh the man with ten faces in the dressing room this viper should not be allowed near any sporting facility let alone our club i really hope that cellino gets in and sends these two packing along with anything to do with the spineless worthless Arab bank that claim to be our owners you are a disgrace what my dogs do in the field has more integrity than you back to you Brian NOEL HUNT 25K A WEEK FOR WHAT NO WONDER WE ARE IN A MESS LUKE MURPHY 22K A WEEK FOR WHAT YOU ARE AS BAD AS HAIGH AND THE GFH IMPOSTERS

Same old from mcdermott, the players are over paid at leeds and can't perform in anyway to show they care about putting the shirt on, they should play for free for the rest of the season because they have put us where we are, we are a laughing stock once again and why is it always leeds that over pay players who are not good enough for Sunday league let alone the championship. Even if cellino does get in we are stuffed either way, need a full squad yet again just to compete in this league . We should buy half of Doncaster and charltons team, at least they have got passion and fight, same old leeds different season. Total shambles !!

1/4/2014 15:38:27

Brian is not going to walk away, I don,t blame him because if sack him they will have to pay him the rest of his contract. He knows that he will be shown the door as soon as this takeover is sorted out regardless of who becomes the owner. We have become so bad that we can not take penalty.as supporters we are at a loss as we are unable to change anything. It is like an endless nightmare.

Best thing we can do is get rid of McDermott (Hunt too) McDermott is a fool, no idea at all. Take the point loss, get rid of the debt and look aforward to 2014/15 - As to GFH, they need to be investigated for fraud. Sorry David you are a crook, you need to be arrested for fraud. Good bye McDermott, and good bye GFH.

Please leave McDermott you have no tactics and no clue.

The way things are panning out is we will be relegated, especially if we go into administration.

This reminds me of the double penalty points deduction before. 10 taken away this season and -15 starting next season.

I believe the FL and the FA are deliberately punishing Leeds by delaying the decision and when it is decided will be the same and Cellino loses both his money and the chance to own Leeds.

This will be followed by this mystery Manchester businessman who will probably buy Leeds for peanuts and not invest much in the club, keeping us down in the lower leagues.

McDermatt is right to not walk away, but may end up with nothing after all.

Lets face it the season looked so promising until the January window, thats when the truth came out that the club had no investment and no money.

We are in the mire and will be relegated.

Clueless manager who has been sadly exposed as a fraudster. Get lost brian please.

JONTY link
1/4/2014 15:58:14

The blame here lies firmly with Cellino because he has unsettled McDermott & the players. The clamour for the Italian is completely wrong & folk need to see that. We'll done the FL I say for rejecting him & saving our great club. He is not the only alternative because I know there are plenty of wealthy businessman wanting to buy into LUFC. Folk need to be patient because all good things come to those who wait.

1/4/2014 16:10:30

Some folk are barmy. Cellino fault we signed hunt and paid him 25k a week, his fault kebe arrived, his fault we lost 6 nothing to weds, his fault outplayed by mighty rochdale. We are shite because of the idiot who has been in charge for the last year and the previous idiot before him.

paul
1/4/2014 16:25:32

Jonty, you are either McDermott or an idiot!

StevieDee
1/4/2014 23:36:08

So the man ho has been effectively keeping the club afloat for the last few months is to blame? The flip side of Cellino not gaining control will be more of the same or administration.

We are in this mess because of Bates/GFH for their mismanagement of our club and because of Warnock/McDermott for their gross incompetence as so-called managers.

The results speak for themselves. We have been poor all season.

When bmd had backing look where we was, you can't blame him for the things that are happening, would you continue to go to work if you was not getting paid? Coz I sure as hell wouldn't!

BMD you should do the decent thing and resign face facts your team cannot defend cannot create cannot compete and quite clearly have no respect for you or the shirt there were many people that left the ground at half time on Saturday disgusted by the poor quality of football and the total lack of effort i have asked many times what you do on the training pitch the vast majority of players have declined rapidly under your leadership and your signings have been dreadful
AUSTIN AWFUL
LEES MR HOOFBALL AWFUL
KEBE DISGRACE
MURPHY WASTE OF SPACE ONE GOAL 22K A WEEK
HUNT WASTE OF SPACE 25K A WEEK
WOTTON SEEN BETTER DEFENDERS IN OUR UNDER 11S
STEWART CONTRIBUTION NIL PROBABLY ON 20K A WEEK
Take some advice watch Sean Dyche or Steve Mclaren proof that proper coaching produces good teams on an average Budget

Total lack of any creativity and flair tonight as usual as we just aren't good enough.

If Cellino doesn't get the club (hope he does) then GFH will smell the looming income and hang on.

They'll wait until the summer for the Sky Money, the season ticket money & then sell both Mccormack (who would be mad to stay at this shambles of a club regardless of his love for us) and Byram which may equate to around £25m and then sell a penniless club with no quality left to mike Farnan for a pound!! You heard it here first!!

They're an investment bank after lining their pockets like the rest in the past. Club turns over £32m and has £18m wage bill and £2m rent. Where's the £12m gone?! Their pockets!!

They'll do as I said above in the summer guaranteed and sell Farnan a penniless club for a pound taking £25m with them cash! That's why cellino has offered them £25m

best get some popcorn this has got til may to run if cellinos apeal goes tits up GFH have said no chance of administration so whats the problem there isnt one

weve been there before

AS for mcdermott should walk would you walk out of your job has he
had a fair crack at leeds to chalange for promotion dont you need quality players all over the pitch & even the best managers in the world cant make silk purses out of sows ears
when you have old boys on hyper contracts no one going to take em
maybe leeds should have released them paid em off 500k that cheaper than 52x24-25k

Daddy Mac is probobly dead men walking hes nowt to loose chuck the kids in

but what ever happens if cellino gets in then we can sleep the sleep of the saved like England did when the japs bombed peal harbour

the clocks ticking on GFH camel jockey chancers

Typical excuses once again by a manager, who is well out of his depth and also a bad judge of players, if he thinks that the £25000 per week Noel Hunt is a good player.
McDermott is the worst ever manager to manage Leeds and his so called players are the worst players to ever wear the shirt.
They ALL have NO pride in the shirt and should all be ashamed to be described as professionals, because they all act like a bunch of amateurs.
Losing has now become a good habit for players, with absolutely no passion or fight and they now look beaten, even before the game has kicked off.
Denis Wise took a lot of stick, but even his Leeds team had more fight than this current, clueless, one dimensional bunch of cowards, who have the nerve to call themselves Leeds players.
On the subject of cowards, GFH can be blamed for the off-the-field circus, but the pitch is where the players should be performing and that has not been happening for months and months, even before the wage problems.
The non-performing players and useless manager are now using the same pathetic excuses for every constant embarrassing defeat and the fans are sick of hearing the same convenient excuses.
McDermott should stop acting pig-headed and resign, because at this moment, anybody could do a better job.

THE RUBBLE OF GFH WILL BE THE FOUNDATION STONES OF SOMETHING BETTER

AS WINSTON SPENCER CHURCHILL SAID IN JUNE 1940

time for brian to go . 3 wins in 18 games. hunt on 25 grand a week he wouldnt get into my kids side utter garbage. brian can talk about this take over unsettling the players utter rubbish . it boils down to his team selections and tatics. the leeds team that got relegated to league 1 five r six seasons ago and minus 15 points showed more fight than this load of rubbish playing for us . i hope we r taken over by cellino . this club needs a readout. out of squad for tonights game i would only keep 3 players mccormick ,mowatt and byram get rid of the rest.

I watched Arbroath play a couple of weeks ago. It was freezing cold, the ground is so close to the sea its almost in it. They got beat in front of a home crowd of about 500. Point? A bunch of part timers, but played their guts out, enjoyed a pie and a Bovril at half time. All went home having enjoyed a good game. Then you come home to this bloody shambles of a club. Know what? I envy those 500 supporters. They don't know the meaning of blood pressure.

The future is not good, they are not getting paid because there is no money. ADMINISTRATION! cannot be anything else.
