McDermott's post match reaction

8/3/2014

Leeds boss Brian McDermott spoke after Leeds' shocking performance in their 5-1 defeat to Bolton. Speaking to Radio Leeds McDermott said he didn't fear for his job, but would be working hard to restore some pride. He said there was nothing in the game for 44 minutes, then it all went wrong. He went on that some of the players looked nervous, and that whoever plays on Tuesday would need to put in a shift.

McDermott was at a loss as to what went wrong, and mentioned that he and the players needed to get the fans back on side.

McDermott seemed very much on edge in the interview and despite him saying this he didn't fear for his job, he sounded very much like he was.

It wouldn't surprise me if he didn't last until Tuesday to be honest, but of he does, a win is imperative if he is to survive any longer..

He should be im charge for Tuesday, or it will be the same rubbish again. He has no plan B and sick of listening to the same old story. I wont be going again until he has gone

Absolutely shocking display, only rated Wickham and Byram in that game.

It was 1-0 when Byram came on ..... I didn't watch it but he couldn't have impressed overly. 3 crosses into the box for 3 of the goals i heard/read

warnock and wickham i felt bad for... kebe didn't actually have his worst game at least he tried to do something murphy was ok other than that.. stewart is the worst winger i've ever seen our defending was a joke wooton has conceded 11 goals in two games. set pieces terrible. all in all it was just one of them games i left with 20 minutes to go was that embarrassed but Tuesdays a different day. The italians son was up in the east stand L4 today so he can't have been impressed.

Told you all after Wednesday thrashing and rubbish displays against Boro and Brighton
McDermott has to go He has not got what it takes to manage Leeds and the players he's brought in are mainly the same rubbish Warnock brought in
So when he's sacked which he will be let's have no fans screaming for him to stay like last time please!!!!

went home on 70 minutes just after Boltons 4th goal went in. we where terrible in every dept today and the player should be embarrassed and so should McDermott. his so called wingers wouldn't get in a non league side. league 1 here we come at this rate

Have to say this defeat coming after the Sheff Windies does not bode well for McDermott. There was no urgency or fight in the team. To get thumped for 5 is not good enough. But who we get for the next manager is anybodys guess. Who would want to come to Leeds at the moment anyway??

O M G...I'm still in shell shock ...why not play Zaliukas...I know he had a shocker against Wednesday...but he should be given another chance....playing 2 young CBs is i asking for trouble as it proved ....surely BM must go now my patience has finally out ....everytime that we seem to turn a corner and think the play offs are in touching distance ....BANG....another screw up ...the senior management must take the blame .....we need the Italian godfather now and a truly top notch coach to attract some truly decent players....hopefully he'll put his money where his mouth is ...MOT

There are NO excuses for todays rubbish performance, against a Bolton team that has struggled away from home this season.
When Leeds have managed to win a game this season, the opposition have been very poor and most of the wins have been scrape wins.
The job is far too big for McDermott and the club is too big for Kebe and Stewart, who both look like frightened school boy players.
Just what is McDermott doing on the training pitch during the week?, because most of the players look unfit and clueless.

Brian has to go,last two players he brought in are decent, but has also brought in plenty of crap I knew half way through the season we would struggle,Playoffs me arse

Supporter from Singapore. I can't help but feel hopeless. Surely the playoff has distanced away. McD has proven that he can't lead a team on consistent run. He can talk but he can't strategize. If he lose on Tuesday again, definitely he has to go. Nicholas

It is a great shame that McD cannot be sacked before every game given the great result following his last sacking. To think I like many objected to Cellino firing McD, but perhaps he was right!

I think the Board will wait until Cellino gets his green light from FL, just to avoid more turmoil. Say this happen monday week, then I am quite sure BMD will we sent packing the same evening.

Don't give up yet fan collegues, we are Leeds for f sake

Steve

At this rate Cellino will be the one to walk. Why would he want to buy this rubbish and waste his money.

Colcam

Unfortunately we can't afford (financially) to sack the manager at the moment or I think he would have been gone by now. We would have to pay up the rest of his contract and pay a new man. No money as it is!
