Mcdermotts post match reaction

11/3/2014

Brian McDermott spoke to radio Leeds following another abject performance. Despite 2 quick goals giving the scorer in a tiny bit of respectability, another 4 goals conceded was shocking.

McDermott praised the team for at least showing some character and getting back into the game, but the game was lost with some shambolic defending. McDermott set up a team that he felt could go out and win the game, but they didn't show up early on.

He said he didn't think that changing the manager worked as the last 10 years has proved and he wanted to see the job through.

He said that Smith, Austin and Murphy battled well second half, and could have scored 5!!

He sounded fairly determined and was just looking forward to the next game. He seems determined to try and turn this club around, but the whole club needs stability.. Amen to that last bit..

The man is deluded. If he did have any integrity he would resign and spare us the hefty payoff at the end of the season.

Far too many embarrassments like this to survive any longer, his time is up as soon as cellino is given the all clear from the fl. He is a tactical disaster, who gets nothing right. Nice guy as we keep hearing but clearly the player have no respect or fear of him. He cannot see past his favorites no matter how bad they are, and drops players who do perform. His treatment of zaliukas after one bad game despite playing very well up till then completely destroyed his confidence as we saw tonight. Yet he stood by kebe and stewart who have did less that nothing. I can see di canio coming in, who i believe could be the one for us - tough manager with a thick skin, demands 100%, does not accept unprofessional behaviour, tactically aware, classical organised italian defending, yet also plays an attractive attacking game.He is temperamental and unpredictable but i feel the sunderland episode may have taught him alot. If not di canio perhaps di matteo? but regardless - anyone but mcdermott.

When are the players to blame?what are the consequences for them?sacking bm is not the solution give him money to spend in the summer on decent players because no manager is going to do anything on this budget.give peanuts get monkeys

Watching these games shows that there is a lack of tactical awareness and a lack of passion. This is down to the manager. Even average players will perform with the right guidance. Even the fitness levels don,t look to be great. I am willing to be wrong.let's see a big improvement

Im waiting until summer to come back on this website cos lets face it, this is another season of just making up the numbers. Finish mid table, keep mccdermott, see what he can do with time and money pre-season!

I think we need to get the Italian in with the money ,then get a manager with clout who knows how to get us out of this division and keep us in the premier league. Been a fan for 40 years and am now becoming tired of the constant rubbish coming out of our club. :)
