Brought a tear to my eyes when I learned Bill had gone to Boro.
268 games for us in 7 1/2 years
Great memories, the lung-busting run in the 90th+ minute v Swansea setting up Pablo to score seeing me and my son go wild as we secured promotion to the Prem, the goal against Huddersfield and his celebration after and the "Robbie Keane" celebration and so, so many more including the "Ayling Flop".
The way he behaved on and off the pitch and how he got LUFC means I will love him always.
If I take my rose-tinted glasses off then perhaps the last 18 months have seen his performance decline
Yes I cried as a kid when Billy, Johnny and Norman left but real legends live on
He was with us in the bad and good times, a total legend in my heart and mind
First off, let me say this.
Thank you for your work over the past 7.5 years. Your professionalism in the public eye was exceptional, your professionalism in your training is what young footballers should thrive to match and your attitude to our club what the fans love.
Now I say this.
Can you confirm that Leeds has offered you a new contract but in a different role which starts in August 2024?
My personal feelings are that you should have been converted into a right winger 2 years ago which would have seen you prolong your leeds career.
Good luck for your 6 month loan.
It almost feels like we have lost a family member. A true inspiration and a credit to the shirt, in fact in my mind a better captain than Coops. I note from the official website that subject to availabilty Bill will be at ER on 21st January for a rousing farewell, don't think there will be many dry eyes in the stadium as we say goodbye to a true hero. Thanks for the great memories Bill. MOT
Well said BB, I love Ayling what a great bloke he is. He always gave his all in a Leeds shirt and you can't ask for more than that.
It was probably the right time for him to move on, he needs to be playing football and it wasn't going to happen much here any more.
Good luck luke, cheers 🍻
Well-spoken BB, think you and Soopa have captured it all how we feel about him.
Fantastic servant, very good and influential player and an even better, genuine guy.
As he says he's Leeds.
Luke Ayling is a great example of everything we love about Leeds. He's worn the badge with distinction, been part of some great times and always conducted himself with great dignity.
All the the best Luke - clubs live and die by the example it's best servants show and you've been one of the best.
I look forward to the day that Ayling, Coops, Dallas and Pablo are part of our coaching staff with Corberan as manager and Bielsa oopstairs overseeing everything!!
Me and the boy met him once and he had so much time for us and the other fans for not only photos and autographs, but also spoke to us ALL at length....
Don't know if I mentioned it that this was when we watched us away in a FRIENDLY ABROAD in Spain during the World Cup.... it's what makes me a better fan of the club than you lot of armchair supporters and why my posts make more sense than others 🖕🥊🙈🤣
This👍💛💙
