I don't expect to see him again this season, or at best maybe March or April next year. As far as I am concerned, the majority of the damage was caused in the previous game after a harsh challenge. The medics should have kept him off rather than allow him to play. I don't know if it would have made any difference, but it might have reduced the recovery period.
If anything happens now to Rodon or Struijk then we really are up sh*t creek without a paddle!! Wober clearly doesn't fancy playing again and pressing the injury button in double time.
Maybe we can convert Bambi to a new role as CB, pretty good at keeping the ball out of the net!š
Wober has a tear in the knee. The national team doctor was the one who told the club to actually look into it. From what I know last season he has a couple of minor complaints on the same knee.
We have had a couple chances to actual blood our young CB to get some experience but our leader Farke chose not to.
Club saying it's cyste on the meniscus rather than tear. Then again the result is more or less the same. Surprised he's gonna miss 6 weeks with this. I had operations for tears on both meniscus and played again much sooner than that.
True, but it's still bad news when you lose your best & most steady player for such a long time. Crew is still unproven at this level and can we expect or demand the same kind of performances from him?
Only time will tell Guy, I'm pretty keen to see what he can do though. Gruev has arguably been playing better than Ampadu so far this season, so his injury is mitigated. Tanaka will the direct replacement and imho should prove a more attacking option and improve the first XI. The whole point of having a squad is to cover injuries and fatigue, so it's no bad thing having it tested.
Hope you're right and that Tanaka can fill his boots.
Gruev indeed has looked good in most games.
Agree about having a squad to give cover but it's already stretched with several players out (Solomon, James and now longtime injuries for Ampadu & Wƶber).
Not forgetting that Struijk & Rodon have had to play carrying knocks.
That's not ideal, because games are coming thick & fast.
Hopefully the thin squad won't derail any promotion push.
Terrible news that, and even not needing surgery sounds a bit too familiar. Our track record is not good with those. We also lose a very good player who covered several positions.
won't be playing till January is the latest now š«
Agree we need Tanaka and Rothwell to be rock solid and stay fit, but also our defensive cover is thin with Wober crying off for another 6 weeks. Debayo is now first choice CB sub - and Rodon/Struijk have both been struggling

Should mean Charlie Crew gets some playing time, when one door shuts, another door opens.
Horrendous news
Think Schmidt can play CB. Though Iād like to see what Debayo can do.

Jeez that's not good and he's vital for us.... especially if we have an injury at the back with Clubman of the Year, Wober out.
Hopefully, AO and Rothwell will step up and are definitely good enough....
