Farke and young leeds united players

Do we think Farke does not trust the young players in the Leeds united squad?

My reason is as followeds.

Dremah played at left back. 1 terrible mistake other no worse then other. Sent on loan.

Hjelde played at left back. Not good but not bad either and no worse then others. Never seen again ( hopefully in the cup).

Gyabi and Bates. Preseason okay but then never seen again.

Cresswell played even if not better the Cooper but asked certain question of Farke behind closed doors and no seen since.

Gelthardt and Joseph cameo in junk time and played no worse then Bamford but rarely now seen.

Before other say Archie Gray as a example. I put this to you. Does his family name not open doors that other of the above youth will not get to see opened?

Personal I also follow Gladbach and last season he did the same thing. Basically isolated certain player after run minor mista,e or disagreement including minimal youth of players under the age of 23.

Here's hoping he proves me wrong and uses them in the cup game.

Joseph signs new deal to 2028. Gray does the same. So kids are not valued? FFS Come on!!!!

Not sure why Dan says DF does not trust young players. Archie is in at 17, others have been given their chance and failed to impress, Rodon v Cresswell - any doubt who should start? Hjelde v any other LB - any doubt who should start? Geldhart v Rutter, Piroe, Bamford and even Joseph - any doubt who should start?

We want promotion not just giving kids a start so if they do enough they can sign for another club.

None of the guys we have let leave have dine anything. OK Davis has looked good but Championship defenders have worked him out. Needed a season in L! when we were in the Prem but no big club is sniffing around, which says a lot.

Lets not hype up kids when they have been given a chance and failed to impress.

I thought we had to wait till his 18th before we could get it confirmed... but it's still great news.

I think this will be like the Kalvin Phillips situation - he'll give this at least 2 seasons but then if we're not up he'll have to go.

Had this game planned since before Xmas with the next door neighbour and a few beers and was going to do a MDT etc.... can't fkn go now and gutted.

My boy knows a few of their players and they are not good enough and we'll definitely beat them by 2/3 though....

What I am the most grateful for, when it comes to Farke, is that he has saved us from being the madhouse we were about to become after our more or less hopeless managers, since Bielsa was fired. The rest is not details, but it's close.... MOT

I don't think it's DF not trusting the young players it's the fact we have a large squad and he is concentrating on keeping the senior players happy. I'd guess players like Anthony,Gnonto,Coops and a few weeks ago Paddy were/are asking for more minutes so would be difficult to put the likes of Joseph or Gelhardt on ahead of them.

we have an abundance of wingers & cb's in the squad and our most promising young players not getting much game time are probably Cresswell & Joseph.

I honestly think the best thing would be to loan out Gelhardt, Joseph, Bate, & Cresswell for the rest of season as they won't get many minutes here and they need to play to develop

Another way to look at is that Meslier, Klaesson, Struijk, Cresswell, Hjelde, Shackleton, Gray, Summerville, Joseph, Gelhardt and Poveda are all first squad players having been promoted from the u21s.

Or you look at it as they following had been playing first team football when they came to us. Meslier, Klaesson, Hjelde, Summerville, and Gelthardt had even play 10 games. Poveda was around first teams squads since he was 15/16 but some reason it hasn't clicked.

Struijk, Shackleton ,Joseph, Gray and Cresswell are really only through us.

Of them only Gray, Struijk can be said to have had full solid back to back to back games.

Daniel, are you really saying that in our dark (but fun away supporting days 👍🍻🙈🤣⚽) in League One, you'd have been happy to have Mancscum, Liverpool and Chelscum vying to buy us, in order to be able to play a youth team player to see if he can have a 1% chance of making a first team appearance for the club that pays his wages.....

We'd lose our own identity!?

This could have happened with our previous crap owners over the years....

Do you think us fans would have honestly been happy and stood for this!?

We'd have been denied the chance to see Beckford, Becchio, Snodgrass, Gradel etc with the likes of Howson not coming through our system....

It's akin to the supermarkets taking over the family run independent grocery and newsagent shops.... I'd much rather watch Buttler and Gregan drive home from the car park, in a haze of Capstan Fullstrength, in their Ford Capri than Carlos Flickit in his Ferrari

LOL no I would not.

During our dark days I bloody well move to England just watch us for little while ( 3 different times, 2000, 2003, 2005/6) stayed each long enough to see out the season and each time had to resign from job and get loans to do it.

To be honest sometime ( only sometimes) I would not care what League we were in if it meant Watching a team of say 8 academy player under 25 in our starting side.

No club want to be super market team of course unless they winning trophy's

Your experience of Farke in Germany does help explain why you have a certain view of him, I'll not dispute anything you say about him there.

You've laid out quite a lot of examples here in England which I disagree with - so here's my view on the young players you mention in your OP:

Drameh - ignored by EVERY Leeds manager, so not just a Farke issue

Hjelde - was a starter at the beginning of the season, was actually very bad and deserved to be dropped

Gyabi - likewise, I remember him being hooked at half time v Shrewsbury he was so bad.

Bate - he has never been physically strong enough, his record at Oxford wasn't stellar (and Perkins was worse, hence he comes back).

Cresswell is just a victim of Rodon being outstanding at RCB, why force Cresswell into such a winning team?

Gelhardt - had lots and lots of game time, how many goals and asists? He didn't set it on fire in Sunderland either.

Joseph - he's been injured and now he's fit he's getting back on the field.

Most important of all - None of these players you talk about are Farke's men. He hasn't wasted any money on them. If he had bought these players then not used them I'd see your point.

Farke will get all of 83 days if results dry up (see W Rooney) so he's got to pick what he thinks is his best team. There are enough of our own fans asking for his head now which is utter madness!

Agree with managers these days have 1 month grace period idea meaning Farke has minimal time to get it right.

If I am not mistaken Cresswell played as a LCB for our 16, 18, and 21's. Just saying.

Why would a prestigious club like Motherwell with it's history and tradition over the years just roll over and suddenly say they don't want their club to compete against the rest of the Scottish clubs and would rather enhance Leeds United to bring through their youth academy....?

In theory, they'd give up their youth system and trying to compete for the future to enable us to see whether Leeds United youth team players may or may not have a chance of getting any minutes in our first team....

Surely their fans won't stand for that!?

Which other Scottish clubs provide this service for the benefit of English clubs?

Which English Premier clubs like Citeh, Liverpool, Arsenal, Mancscum, Chelscum, Newcastle, Spurs own Scottish or European teams where all their youth team players are playing in their the first teams abroad?

Was using Motherwell as a example of how a feeder club in another league similar to the english style could help our younger players. No their fans would not agree to that but they would agree to getting a talent player on loan.

Man city own a team in Australia, Spain, India, Brazil, China, Italy, Uruguay Usa, Japan, France and last time I heard.

Chelsea has one in France and does an under the table deal with 1 in Holland.

Arsenal does not

Spurs does not

ManU non unless Radcliffe has gotten shares.

On a separate side note - in the football league (championship, league 1, league 2) there are currently around 19 clubs with American owners....

Archie Gray played almost every minute this season, not because of his name, that's a cheap shot.

Hopefully I am reading to much into it but it was one of the reason Gladbach (they hate wasting money) were willing to remove him as coach and pay him out.

Not cheap shot at Archie but the fact remains that his names has abled (think Gyabi, Cresswell and Joseph could have done the same if given the exact same supported opportunity) him more time to develop while playing without having to worry about be dropped after small errors. One of the reason I believe we need a feeder club. Imagine we owned sat Motherwell in Scotland and gave Bates, Dremah, Cresswell, Hjelde, Gelthardt, Joseph and even Klaesson a year or 2 of playing week in week out where they can learn while actually playing.
