Well my first post on the new site is the sad death of one of football's greatest entertainers. True, he only played just over 30 odd games for us when we were already down in the dumps but he was great to watch. Scored some great goals over his career. RIP
Was it the game v Owls where he had his back to goal, did some keepy uppys, flicked it over his head totally bamboozling their oncoming defenders then volleyed it home?
Gave some hope to us fans whilst he was here.
RIP Frank. Thanks for the memories
@BB It was for Bolton against Ipswich - and I had the privilege of being there to see it 'live', as my Dad was a Wanderers' fan and used to take me to Burnden Park quite often.
Didn't get the best view as a short-arsed 14-year-old but it was the first match I ever experienced that shiver of wonderment that permeates an entire ground when something special has been witnessed.
Bolton still lost as I recall, which was fairly typical!
He was the last desperate throw of a club on the slidE, but wasn’t his fault we went down.
Great character, a proper old school entertainer. RIP
Old school entertainer.
I say the juggling goal on YouTube
loved it
Great entertainer.
always seen in clubs around Bradford
liked a lot of “horizontal jogging “ to keep fit
RIP you certainly enjoyed life
He was unlucky not to get more International caps in his era like Currie, Marsh, Bowles and Hoddle. Manager's played it too safe when they should have been building teams around these players....
Him and Tony Currie were my first heroes and I named my cats after them!!
RIP Frank and thanks for the entertainment....
Loved Frank even when he was at Udders. Loved his own description of himself when he "leapt like a young salmon to head the ball home". Poetry
