So FIFA can make a ruling against a Club on a player that left that Club to another even tho the Club received no transfer money???
and yet sits on the fence looking at a "big Club" in Spain not paying agreed transfer monies for players and yet they are allowed to play for the Spanish Club??? But FIFA can't/wont do nothing about that???
How the fork does that work???
Oh ya rules and sanctions don't apply to the "big Clubs" even-though this Club was one of the breakaway teams that wanted to set up a new European super league.
Typical corruption in football, its happening in every league in the world the rules are stacked in the favour of the big boys and "if" someone begins to challenge the elite then some bullsh*t ruling is made to kick the upstart back down from where they came from.
It does seem unreasonably harsh, although the decision wasn't ratified by a football body but by the International Council for Arbitration In Sport, based in Switzerland.
I also think we did behave badly and deserved to be penalized, although not as badly as the penalty would suggest.
I agree we arent totally faultless in this particular transaction, but how is it just that a fella can play less than an hours football and walk away with over 30m euro????
If we have to pay the 5 year contract then get the c**t over and let him be in leeds for that length of time, HE WALKED AWAY AND SIGNED FOR ANOTHER CLUB
Since it was ruled that we had to pay redbull Leipzig for him and it has now been ruled that we should have been paying the player. Can we now demand fees from the french club he was at and also Basel where he is currently. Basically he has been working else where without our permission (given we are to pay him according to courts). Surely that breach of contract.
Not all buys work out. Arsenal paid £75million for Pepe, Manure £75million for Sancho, both on £150k per week+, and there are loads of other big money buys that just have not worked out.
I guess a hit rate of 1 in 4 is actually good? VO's is better than that
At least we got rid instead of paying his wages for years and years on top of the fee!
If anything shows just how amateur the clubs leaders are, then this JKA lark is it!
Thank goodness Jesse has had a major imput into the summers recruitment, with four first teamers looking more than ok. If Victor had done all the dealing, then who knows what dross he would have brought in. Perhaps if he doesn't make it with us as a coach/manager, JM should take Orta's role?
pay it and move on. I was sorry to see that the relationship with Orta is going South with the fans though - seems like abuse is acceptable in one direction only.
I'm afraid that this is another classic own goal. Both Leeds and Leipzig agreed to the free transfer to Nantes, and did so in writing and, so we are due absolutely nothing from that transfer. Augustin then left Nantes for Basel, and guess what the fee was - another free of course!!! Since leaving Leeds, the wonderkid has in fact played a grand total of 13 games.
Yes, we did ourselves no favours on this deal. According to the club statement, Leeds are considering yet another appeal and are still in a state of denial, which is the sort of thing we expect from Donald Trump but not from Leeds United.
I can't even remember his sub appearances, I would have cherished them if I knew how much they cost. Ubefuckinglievable .
FFS I've just read on LeedsNewsNow (😲🤬🤔💵) that Augustin was going to be paid 90k pw PLUS bonuses for us!!
Who the fk sanctioned that deal when he wasn't proven!?
Surely we could have got someone like Ivan Toney in for that kind of dosh!?
I know it's LeedsNewsNow but Simon Jordan commented on it as well....
We may as well have bought a fkn massive state of the art fishtank....
This is just pure b*llo*

Sickening
We'll only be able to afford 'Butlers' and 'Gregans' in the Championship....
FIFA rule we have to pay his wages for the 5 year contract agreed, £24.5 million
Good lawyer should be able to bring this down a bit as he was paid by Rennes and now by Basel, so that should be a mitigating factor.
If not that is a £40million loss!

"Amicable agreement" reached between the 2 clubs.
Best I can see is we still pay £18.4 million in 3 installments
Look like we are looking to appeal again but may have to pay first installment of 6.3million euros first
So if we effectively bought him for 18m and we have to pay it, do we not get a transfer fee from the club he went to next?
Why did he go on a free transfer from us?
Does his next club, whoever that was as I lost interest, not owe us anything?
Worst signing ever surely, move aside Seth lad.

It was a bum deal - the club should have accepted the deal they signed.
Trying the old "delayed end of season means we don't have to pay" is poor.
The original deal was indeed rubbish, but we have always had a mix of good and bad deals as we roll the dice on progress.
The Rapha profit more than covers this poor xfer for example, and another RB Leipzig signing right now is multiplying in value (Adams).
But it isn't a good situation however we try to dress it up.
The word 'incompetent' doesn't do justice to this episode of the clubs history.
Heads should role!
So there's our new striker in January 😫
