big game this stat as we welcome brighton and hove
founded in 1901 the seaguls play in falmer just outside brighton
they were elected to the FL in 1919 same year leeds united were founded
i saw them play leeds at the old goldston ground in the mid 60s and chose leeds to follow from then on much to my granddads dismay he was a spurs fan
and only took me as we were local at the time
brighton at the moment are 8th in the league and looking for a euro spot in theit last 10 games have only lost once and drawn three
an impressive result
its not looking good for us but who knows this is football
famous fans include
fatboy slim
jamie theakstone
rory graham aka the rag and bone man
jon snow ( but then again he knows nothing }
des lynam
punk poet attila the stockbroker
this point culd be werry important when this seasone end
Well I get a mdt run woop woop
I think we need to look at it as a result and one point gained. We are still recovering after the terrible decision to sack the manager and his coaching team so can’t really expect an immediate turn around. Thankfully we have a good squad with multiple players who can score from any attacking position, and we have Rodrigo back to near full fitness. Keep the faith.
Glad to have come away with a point from that game. I honestly couldn’t see a way back into the game when we were 1-0 behind. Fair play to the lads for getting back on terms twice.
Ayling was caught out of position far too many times and didn’t have the pace to recover. So many times they just hit a straight ball over the top from one of their centre backs and it just turned our whole team around. We were then scrambling to get back into position.
The other thing I noticed was that as we stood of their defence they had an age to wait for a player to move into position around the half way line , which in Turn gave them a very easy out ball to feet.
Firpo did ok but his defending at times is shocking. He seems to go with the wrong foot times and if he misses the tackle he is left for dead.
Aaronson was lively but lacks that finishing touch. He was unlucky not to score and was only denied by a very good save.
Nice to see Harrison grab a goal because he had been dreadful until that point.
Finally Gnonto needs to be starting, I don’t care who he replaces , he just needs to start.
Again we huffed and puffed without real movement, passing and triangles etc....
Teams like Brighton are far more comfortable on the ball and played completely out from the back with little 5yd passes.... I'd be behind the sofa watching if we tried this and we're nowhere near as confident on the ball.
Brighton constantly broke and could have scored a couple more, although I suppose we could have done as well....
Ayling got absolutely skinned and although Firpo did ok overall, he still dives into tackles instead of jockeying.... he goes in with his bum and wrong foot as well!
Great to also see Sinesterra get a 5 second run out which probably cost us a 10k appearance fee!
It's just lucky there are some other crap sides around us with nobody pulling away as I don't know where our next win is coming from.... we finally score 2 in a game but concede 2 as well
a good point.great goals by Jack & Bamford, wish Jack used his right foot for the own goal.
there is a good team in there somewhere but confidence is low.
Gnoto has to start the next game,I'd drop Aaronson,he looked promising early in the season but looked poor since before the wc,I think he will come good eventually but might need to bulk up in the summer.
Good to see Rodrigo & Sini back on the pitch.
typical we get a good point and Bournmoth & Everton snatch wins.
pros-Silva has a plan b,Bamford scored,Rodrigo & sini back fit and Brighton always beat us
cons-sloppy goals to give away,BA was poor ..
so before the game we'd mostly have accepted a point.
We got it.
Others won.
We're second bottom. 😫
Optimism running low...and lower by 5pm
Looking for scraps of comfort - at least Lamptey is injured, he would have been lethal against our back line
B'mouth win! Another must win for us, again! Do it, Leeds. ffs.
It looks like our new manager has a Plan B 👍👏....... unfortunately, this plan is the team that took us to the relegation places earlier this season! 🙈🤣😭😲
Team out:
Bamford in for Rutter, Roca in for McKennie are the 2 changes
Gnonto on the bench again, but alongside Rodders and Sinisterra which is good to see.
I’d expect us to raise our game against Brighton. I could see us stealing victory from the claws of defeat.
Goals from Gnonto and Summerville.
Not expecting anything out of the game today, will be looking more at hoping Liverpool and Spuds do us a favour today and Manure and Villa tomorrow.
Doesn't really matter what team JG puts out, we don't have a proven goal scorer on the pitch at the moment, but who know's we may get a lucky deflection.
Good luck Steve, I have no idea what the result might be….I just hope we win.
I wonder why nobody asked me to do the Brighton….MDT??😛
Can see JG making some changes for this game:
Iceman
Bill Koch Wober Firpo
McKennie Adams
Jimmy Greenwood Gnonto
Rutter
Subs: Robles, Rasmus, Pascal, Gyabi, Aaronsen, Harrison, Bamford, Jospeh and Luis or Perkins
Well stepped up Steve. Good Luck my friend.......MOT
Well stepped up Mouseman.... quality MDT and good luck for a prolonged run.
Fair play to Brighton and they have totally over achieved.... how sad it is to see the Mighty Leeds so far behind giants such as Brighton, Brentwood and Fulham.
I'm going for a positive 1-0 victory with Meslier looking like our only goalscoring threat from a corner....
It's going to be cold, they won't like that.
Judging by the press conference I don't reckon Rodders or the Bamf will be back so I'm struggling to see how we will score.
Harrison, if he plays, has a lot to prove at the minute. We could do with this being his "good" game.
We must start Gnonto also.
1-0 Leeds (og)

well stepped up Sir.
I have belief - we'll shock them.
Leeds 2-1 Brighton (Koch header, Summerville late)
