Well this is a good chance for the U21s to show what they can do against men.
Greenwood, Joffy, Summerville, Gnonto need minutes so I hope they start.
Perkins and Joseph should start too along with Gyabi and Hjelde.
So the team should look something like this:
KK
Drameh Mullen/Moore Hjelde Sutcliffe
Gyabi Greenwood
Summerville Perkins Gnonto
Joffy/Joseph
Their ground holds 16,567 and I expect it to be close to capacity if we have a good allocation.
Rovers are basically a mid table L2 side now managed by Micky Mellon whose side will be a bit more direct and physical.
They are owned by Markos Palios, ex FA Chief Exec who resigned after having an affair with his secretary, Faria Alam, who also had an affair with Sven whilst he was England Manager. She got about back then!
Not much to really write about them other than they are Scouse and John Aldridge once played and managed them.
Other notable player is Pat Nevin
Ex Managers include John Barnes, Mickey Adams, Dave Watson and Brian Little. The Old Ones on here will know who I mean!
They dont have any famous fans and no serious rivalries.
Will be live on LUTV tomorrow
Hope Drameh is OK
The Morton Spencer move from CM to CB is interesting... Good player.
Joseph and Perkins are just goal scorers.
Next is Bolton Wanderers in a couple of weeks and then Crewe Alexandra a couple of weeks after that.
Just 816 tonight with 80 LUFC supporters

8:44 mins extra time???
Perkins, Joffy with a brace, Joseph and Drameh
Here you go TC - marks out of 10
Klaasen 9
Drameh 9.5
Moore 9
Spencer 9
Sutcliffe 9
Gyabi 11
Greenwood 8
Gnonto 9.5
Gelhardt 10
Perkins 9.5
Joseph 9.5
all the subs got at least 8, Debayo gets 9 :-)
OK - I'm a bit biased and I'm signing off now - will let BB give you the lowdown 😁
If Carlsberg did U21 sides.........
Full Time
Tranmere 3-5 Leeds U21
This one has been yet another great watch - bit of absolutely everything here.
Could discuss this all night, but the team will have learned a huge amount from this and some real maturity across the team in that second half in particular.
Great to see that our youngsters are on track to be able to step up 👍
Cheers for the updates Soopa and look forward to your player ratings after the game! 🤔😜👍👏
Snowden on for Drameh
Allen for Gnonto (91 mins)
Really impressed with Gyabi. 3 assists today
Like the look of Debayo
Joffy is too good for this standard
Drameh down on 89 mins - looks like a proper knock unfortunately.
Despite the man disadvantage and the tiring effect of U21's playing grown men, we're having as much of this as Tranmere. 7 mins of stoppage time
It's a lot of fun updating on our boys - hugely entertaining
Thanks Soopa or keeping this updated.
For anyone interested:
Leeds: Kristoffer Klaesson; Cody Drameh, Morten Spencer, Kris Moore, Harvey Sutcliffe; Darko Gyabi, Sam Greenwood; Wilfried Gnonto, Joe Gelhardt, Sonny Perkins, Mateo Joseph.
Bench: Harry Christy, Amari Miller, Sean McGurk, Alfie McCalmont, Charlie Allen, James Debayo, Joseph Snowdon.
Debayo and Miller on for Spencer and Joseph (78 mins)
Last season it was at about this stage of games that our U21 sides tired last year. I note that other U21 teams are conceding elsewhere at these later stages too. Let's see what we can do with 10 men away from home
McCalmont on for Perkins (73 mins)
Perkins just stands in the way of a free kick - - - and doesn't get booked!
Greenwood off RED CARD (69 mins)
Petulant tackle - straight red - he was booked in the first half too
Tranmere 3 - 5 Leeds U21 (Drameh 64 mins)
Just glorious - Gyabi pulling the strings again - Drameh has a bit of space in the middle of the box, dummies the defender and pops it away
Teach me for doubting this group - back to their best 😆
Tranmere 3-4 Leeds U21 (Joseph 56 mins)
Great wide play from our Willy - wins a free kick, takes it quickly and Greenwood jinks his way through and passes it to Joseph - easy finish.
some good performances from a few of our players-Joffy scored 2 nice goals,Perkins with a goal and an assist,Gyabi looks good on the ball.we looked the better team for big periods of the game.hopefuly we can push on and get the win.
Just for context-Tranmere are 11th in league 2,7 of the team they have out were involved in their last league game v Barrow(a 1-0 win). The majority of their team has played around half their league games this season with the exceptions being their gk(0 league games) & Burton (3 league games).3 of their starting 11 are ever present in the league with one more playing 10 out off 11 games.Majority of their players are mid 20s
so technically not their starting 11 but a strong 11 for them and a good test for our youngsters. ..
and that's Halftime.
Tranmere 3-3 Leeds U21 (46 mins)
Pants - silly set piece given away by Greenwood, ball put in on the rebound after a great save by KK
Trying to rejoin LUFC TV and it's a disaster. Keeps asking for a gift voucher of discount code, and no way to bypass that. Ready to give up.
INSANE!!
Tranmere 2-3 Leeds U21 (Gelhardt 31)
Through ball, all too easy, Gelhardt to the edge of the 6 yard box and then past the keeper - Gyabi pulling the strings there
AND EVEN BETTER!
Tranmere 2-2 Leeds U21 (Gelhardt 28)
Straight up the middle, nice through pass and Gelhardt shows his best left footed finish - great finish
BETTER!
Tranmere 2-1 Leeds U21 (Perkins 26)
Leeds attacking with numbers, Perkins there for the rebound from the keeper
and now it's 2-0 Tranmere (19 mins)
Not being funny but we have a squad with some higher level experience, higher wages, higher values etc. and we look like frightened rabbits - this is nothing like the U21 side we've watched all season.
Edit: defensively we're weak against the grown men and direct attack - I suppose the quality for us is all up front.
Well that sucks.
Flukey cross hits the far post and in (12 mins)
Tranmere 1-0 Leeds U21
strong team Joffy, Greenwood ,Gnoto all start ..
Really want to see Dremah, Summerville, Gnonto, Greenwood and Gelthart combination.
good luck BB
Willy to score at least 2 in a 4-1 demolition
Alfie has been playing regularly this season, I'd imagine he will play, probably instead of Greenwood. Is Gelhardt fit? He wasn't in the subs at the weekend, I was wondering if he'd picked up a knock.
Great MDT BB and good luck for a prolonged run....
Hopefully we'll play your team or something very similar and prove our lads are the future and will be able to make the step up....
Hopefully be able to get on a stream somewhere so please post.... should really get LUTV but pay out enough watching us when can only get to games which are live on the fkn TV anyway! 🤬
I'm going for a positive 4-0 victory with Perkins on fire with a hattrick....and Sutcliffe to hammer one home! 🤔😲
Good stuff BB. Looking forward to it (strangely more than the first team at the moment!!)
