We have lost both of them in back to back games. Looking like potentially we will have Tanaka and Rothwell in the engine room together for a few games. Is this a blessing in disguise as Farke may have to change his midfield playing style approach as they are both more box to box players instead of holders. What do you all think?

Farke probably will intensify his work with Charlie Crew the next weeks. He was excellent as defensive midfielder in pre-season, and should at least be used in rotation to prepare for the almost inevitable call up when our next injury happens. MOT
Rothwell and Tanaka in the Sunderland game looked like they were trying to work out each other's tendency and favourite pockets to operate in.
Any notice that both demanding the CB'S pass it to them instead of going backwards?
Think Rothwell ran out of gas in about the 65th minute. His legs did not have more then that (expected due to lack of game time) and thought we could have brought Crewe in then or at least 70th minute.
Wober also needs an operation too Danish, will be out for 6 to 8 weeks.
It's not ideal but we have play the hand we're dealt. Crew must come into contention, ditto Aaronson. Schmidt can play wide which could allow Gnonto to play a more central role.
Another option would be to go 3-4-3 which is how the u21s line up., something along the lines of :
Ramazani Joseph Gnonto
Firpo Tanako Aaronson Bogle
Struijk Rodan Schmidt
Meslier
Last night’s game was in my opinion
Rothwells best performance
I think the whole purpose of having a squad is to have depth to cover injuries. Tananka and Rothwell needed game time. I also want to see Charlie Crew get a chance to show us what he can do. So glass half full at this stage.
I think last night exposed a different problem, we had cover in midfield , but struggled to find width when Gnonto and Ramazani were substituted and lost any shape we had.
