Have to say I'm with he FIFA on banning players who weren't released to play for Brazil, even though it impacts on us. The clubs knew what they're doing when they signed South American and African players. They knew this was a possibility. They can't cry about it after the event. The Home FAs and the UK media would have a field day if we did it to England. I also believe the club put Raphinha in an impossible position. I'm afraid our club was in the wrong, but the consolation is that it hurts Liverpool even more than it does us.

Some truths stand the test of time and one of them is " get shot of any player that doesn't want to play for us"
Those are all very good points and well argued. I’m not naive to think we can keep Raph forever, but despite the murmurings we should be able to keep him for another season - if the player wants to stay! And I probably should add there is the risk of him becoming a disruptive element if he doesn’t want to stay. But its also a game of poker, if you are too amenable to selling players, you will never get the best price so we can’t be seen to be a selling club. Brighton played a blinder, they held out for the best price and in doing so kept White for another season. I’m not sure if Spurs had if sold Kane that they would have purchased wiseLyn though, they haven’t the best of records in the recent marketplace. I agree that in James and Harrison, we have the wingers covered and a right back and Pablo type player would be very nice. But we still have to play hardball and make sure any deals and sales are right for us.
You say that Soap, but selling your best players rarely works. Orta did a magnificent job finding Raph, but there's no guarantee he will find other world class players at a similar price. Brighton were able to hold on to White for another season, so there is no reason why we cant. Even despite our poor start to the season, I still believe we are good enough to put a run together to challenge for a European place or indeed have a cup run. We have a good team, we have a great manager, we are under no pressure to sell players, especially first teamers. And Kinnear has them all tied into long term deals. Even Spurs have managed to keep Harry Kane and they aren't going to be competing for anything.
Why do 99% of our board think Raphinha will leave us.... we're the club who have made him the player he is !
He's just gone and made his debut for Brazil after we've improved his performances....
It's only cr-ap Leeds News Now sites that are linking him to bigger clubs which is obvious when he's playing well.... would we rather he was cr-ap for us so other teams aren't linked?
He will obviously have ambitions to play higher on a regular basis and that's totally understandable....we're not a selling club so why can't he do it with us?
It's up to our board now to buy some quality, proven players in the summer to go alongside our better players and be joined by a few of our youngsters....
He'll stay with Kalvin if we show ambition.... if we don't then he should leave us if our ambition doesn't replicate his.
Rapha will probably go but remember, he gave up C.L. football to come to leeds.
I think it all depends on whether Biesla remains manager beyond this season. We don't need to sell anybody so unless they want to move on, there's no urgency for Raphinha to leave, he is still only 24. Phillips has already chosen to stay when he could have left. And after all, we signed players from Man Utd, Man City and Barcelona in the last transfer window .
Lets just enjoy the time we have with Rafa in the Famous White Shirt.
Scousers will lose Mo Salad and Sad Man to the African Nations Cup in Jan/Feb so bringing in Rafa may be on the horizon, but I think he will end up at PSG in the summer. Mbappe will be moving on and I expect Messi will be less involved as age catches him up.
If he keeps his form up for us and Brazil, then I think £100million is not out of the question.
It then depends on how we recruit in the summer if we are to keep KP and even Meslier.
Am sure 49ers will increase their stake at LUFC to around 65% by then, as long as we are in the Prem, and they will have bigger plans for us than AR could comfortably afford.
Obviously will become very difficult to keep hold of Raphina, can't see him leaving in January but after this season no doubt he'll go.
We should at least get £80m for him.
Orta might then go after Lang again.
My biggest concern is that this will also have a knock on effect on Philips's future.
I'm not convinced Rapha will go to liverpool as you say Soopa he wont want to leave guaranteed 1st team spot to be a bit part player at another Club, ok that club maybe playing in the CL and more than likely will be again next season but that don't automatically make rapha a starter in those games.
Go to PSG i can see especially with Neymar.
Manure could do with him and would walk onto that team despite having Rashers, greenwood, robknobldo, Cavani etc on their books. But like liverpool can they afford to splash out especially after the past 2 seasons in revenue?
City could also play him and would play more games under pep than klopp as pep likes attacking players from anywhere on the pitch and doesn't set up with a focal number 9 up top in most games now anyway.
Other than those 3 i don't see rapha going anywhere else in England
But either way if rapha does leave i would wish him well but hope Radz/Orta wouldn't accept anything less than £80m plus add on's if Rapha plays more than 10 CL games (say another £10m for good measure).
Well we do have a Brazilian problem now.
It's good we have James, Harrison and Summerville because we will soon have a large bank balance instead of Raphinha.
He's been a real find and great for us, but watching him score 2 on his full debut, getting lifted to the crowd by Neymar etc etc - he's gone in January
Here I disagree with you BB - he won't go to be a rotation player elsewhere - he'll be a main man in the CL - we have to be realistic, we bought James because we know what comes next and I genuinely wish Rapha well, he's done nothing wrong for us - except be simply too good from the word go.
And lest we forget, Victor Orta has bankrolled our medium term future with this utter diamond of a transfer - he may have got a couple wrong, but boy has he covered himself in glory with deals like this, Meslier etc.
Rumour is us,City, scousers & Man ure to charter a private plane for the Brazilian players,I doubt Rafa would start on Saturday after 70 mins for Brazil tonight & a long flight but would be great to have him on the bench if
Rafa scores his 2nd and Brazils 3rd,he was involved in Neymars goal as well.
Neymar really seems to like playing with Rafa.
I wouldn't be surprised if PSG come in for Rafa if they lose Mbappe in the summer.Raf will be worth 100 million by
His agent, Deco, is making sounds that in the summer he could move on.
OK. LUFC do not need any player that would not bleed for the famous White Shirt.
Deco can prostitute him to Liverpool or whoever, the guy is worth £100million+
Not sure how many bucks Deco can make if any club forks out that sum and then the player's wages.
Right now, not many clubs have the money to afford the deal - certainly not the scousers unless they can steal a few hub caps.
If Rafa gets his brain right, then it is best to stay where he is loved not go to somewhere new where he has to prove himself again and be a rotation player
just turned on Brazil game 5 mins ago,Rafa been taken out 3 times and just scored.
TC, I’m not sure what my Mrs is like down there these days, it’s that long since I went there....
....I had to kick it and check for squirrels last time!😮
This 'Brazil' problem has been going on for years....
I asked my missus to shave it but she keeps it like a 70's German porn star.... I look like Brian Blessed down there
WOW! Raph involved in all 3 of Brazil’s goals, after coming on as a sub in second half....With Brazil 1-0 down!
What a fookin’ debut!!!⚽️🏆
Rafa is now a Brazilian international. Come on at Half Time v Venezuela
Funny, if they had travelled to Brazil, they would have had to quarantine for 14 days so would not have been able to play anyway or is it only Argentine UK based players that this rule applies to?
I didnt see anywhere that Rahpa declined to go to Brazil... I would have thought seeing as it was his first ever call up to the Brazilian National side he would have been itching to go especially seeing as they were playing the Argies in one of the three internationals...
Cant see how FIFA can impose a ban on a player from playing for his Club side, that pays his wages, btw how that works surely thats a personal decision and seeing as everyone has a basic human right to work this in itself goes against that principal.
English government was asked to extend an exemption to footballers going to "red" list countries by FIFA (re quarantine issues) but these were rejected so again logically if a player refused to travel to a red country surely that player has followed the guidance of the country he is working in...
100% agree with on "corrupt bunch at FIFA & UEFA" guy.
