Had all the pressure of a six pointer in Vicarage Road on Saturday but in the end the better team (all season) won out. The filth tried to lump more pressure on us by rolling over in the early kick off but thankfully we stood firm and with Norwich taking the 3 points yesterday off Burnley we are in a very commanding position now. However Im not counting any chickens (unlike TC10) because Burnley now play 3 games before we play Palace and Everton play twice so theoretically both can pass us out and we can still be in the bottom 3 come the 25th April.
Might seem an unlikely set of results but a set of results that can happen so lets just keep the bottles of shampoo on ice for a couple of weeks shall we.
Well done Mouseman, grab yourself a large slice of Stilton and wash it down with a timble full of cab sav.
Great for us, but I do feel a bit for Dyche. A proper honest no nonsense manager who works on a shoestring. Would have much preferred if big Fat Lumphard was in his position, but heyho.
And god bless Delia's lads too......
This weekend has turned out well
Congrats Mouseman!
Well Done and keep the run going!
Outstanding performance by Cooper today, him and Meslier ensured we had a clean sheet. Marsch has gone on record saying Coops is the best captain he's ever worked with. A special mention also for Greenwood for his part in Rodrigo's goal and who is clearly a player that Marsch rates.
We're only 4pts off Palace in 9th and we STILL have non believers🤣🙈
Think we can still get Europe yet...
Look at our form and Aston Villa form.We can bypass them.hope we do
Congrats Mouseman
What a relief! Still not over tho after dire Man U/ Wolves results - I sincerely hope neither qualify for Europe after letting us down yet again!
Nice to see Rodrigo get one - he does seem to have perked up now that he's getting a run in the team - wish James could do the same!
Palace away now looks just as important as the Watford game, but I feel more confident after this one. Good to see a clean sheet at last. Think Meslier deserves one!!
Well I never had any doubts
Mouseman and Marsch. My favourite duo right now 💙💛
Congrats Mouseman. You're on a great run, as are lufc.
Well done JM!
Vital result, keeps Watford at distance.
Now just hope Norwich do us a favour tomorrow.
YEEEES
No Forshaw is a big loss for us.
I'm really down now.
We're playing in chuffin' lilac..... 😩
Not happy or confident with this line-up, Koch in midfield has not worked.
Mistake in not starting KP.
Toon & Everton winning only adds more pressure on us.
But we can't rely on others.
Best of luck STM, pressure on now as Manscum dropped us in it!
Cummmmmmonnnnnnnn u Mighty Fookin Whites! 2-1 to us Raph and James to score💥🥊⚽️🏆💙💛
I hope we release The Summerville.
Just a shocking set of results and fixtures so far this weekend.
This game is now massive. If we lose, then with games in hand below us we are bang in bother. Win and we can drag Brentwood, Newcastle, Brighton, Palace and even Villa into the mix
Ffs no confidence
Team News:
Meslier
Ayling, Llorente, Cooper, Dallas
Klich, Koch
Rapha, Rodrigo, Harrison
James
Phillips on the bench, no Forshaw at all. At least Joffy and Leo Hjelde are on the bench, so fit.
So scum are mailing it v Everton - you could have guessed. Absolute hatred doesn't do it justice sometimes.
Didnt know that either TGO
But i just looked back on those 8 games (since thumping Manure 4-1 in November)
Lost to Chelsea, City, West Ham, Spurs, Norwich, Brighton, Palace & Arsenal, but were losses to 5 teams out of the current top 6. Every team needs to have a reasonable home record if they are to survive in any division but overall in the season Watford sit 20th in the table on home only games with 7 points, leeds on the other hand are 17th in away games only table with 13 points.
Im certain that 8 game home run will be scrolling along the bottom of the telly on sky sports on Saturday morning, just to set us up for a fall.
Let's hope they'll extend that run.
But we've been everyone's favourite opponent to end those kind of runs.
Need to put a stop to that happening → 🤞🙏😬🤞🙏😬🤞🙏😬
Didn't realise Watford have lost eight home games in a row; just have a nasty feeling they'll end that pointless and winless run - and we'll be right back in the mire.
Hope to God that doesn't happen but Hodgson is a canny old codger. 🤞🙏😬
Can we not play James up front please. He is not a striker, he is a speedy winger, play him to his strengths.
Surely philips has to start alongside forshaw.
I would probably take a draw to keep them in trouble but I would still be nervous.
1-0 Leeds rapha on the 26th minute
13c mainly sunny but with a nagging threat of the odd shower.
Our last 3pm Saturday game of the season.
TC, you're surely not refering to us being 'relegation fodder'?
If I recall correctly, there are easely (at the very least) 8 to possibly 10 worse teams than us in this PL.
So I'm not worried at all, even if Bamford has missed so many games & probably will be out for the rest of the season. Not even concerned in the slightest with Gelhardt suffering from a dead leg (good chance he'll be back) when we've got Greenwood standing by, if not → there's little Max & Joseph all ready to fire us onto glory.
The performances, since JM have taken over have been decent to good (bar Villa), but the results went our way because in reality we finally got something that had been missing all season → a bit of well deserved good luck.
Bull, regarding Toon, i agree with you, they could be dragged in again.
They've got a lot of difficult opponents waiting and then there's Brighton aswell, bang out of form & with a tuff schedule ahead. But they've got points on the board already.
We all know there are no easy games in the Premiership, was a bit surprised (not) that we've got beat (with ease) by so many of those supposedly weaker teams.
Anyway vital we don't mess things up at Watford.
The return of Philips and the much maligned Coops could well prove to be vital.
Rapha could well be the difference!
Newcastle far from safe "if" leeds are to be considered a team that can go down.
Barcodes lose tomorrow night against an in form Wolves will mean that they will only be a point ahead of us with same number of games to play (7), and looking at their run in (after tomorrow night) they have
Leicester
Palace
Norwich
Liverpool
Man City
Arsenal
Burnley
Cant see too many points EH will be adding to their 31 already gathered, so loads of permutations and twists still to see before we all start taking out the beach towels.
And consequently if Newcastle do win at Burnley that will help us anyway, but i wouldn't like to be waiting for the PL survival green light until 22nd May
That's a fair point to be fair TC10 (i know i'm just picking myself up off the floor)
If we look at "current form" say last 5 games (15 points)
Brentford have 9
Newcastle have 6
Leeds have 7
Everton 3
Burnley 3
Watford 4
Norwich 1
Ya we have found a bit of form lately i'll grant you that, but what the actual numbers don't show is the teams that the points were won/lost against. We threw away 2 points against Saints imho and their form isn't great either 4 points from last 15, Brighton (whom we must still play against) have only 1pt from the last 15, so we need to look at the overall picture and take all factors into account.
Like i've said before had we the full squad to choose from we would have pulled away from this dogfight long ago but we have injuries, more picked up on Monday night ffs, and when you have a team that cant keep a clean sheet and now haven't got an out-and-out striker to select, i fear our ability to pick up points to maintain the gap to 18th is going to be a tough one never mind pull away from the drop zone.
JM by his demeanor and positive outlook on things is infectious and we can see that the players have bought into his ideas already, so that's a major plus for us compared to Lumpturd and his constant sniping and its "the players are at fault" for the performances they are churning out.
By no means am i throwing in the towel we have more than a fighting chance and i do agree others are in a far more precarious situation than us but a few defeats for us and a few unexpected points for the teams below us will cut that 6 point gap to fck all in a few short weeks.
We're talking up the other relegation fodder in the same bracket as Citeh and Barca.... we're the team in form with 7pts out of the last 9 and the other clubs are worried about us!
It only seems to be our own fans worried.... I trust our team to be well out of it although there may be a little rollercoaster ride as that's what we do!
Top MDT Mouseman. Fingers crossed we win this one as the next 4 games will be tough to get points from. If the games go for us this weekend we could have some breathing space. Everton, Newcastle and Burnley to lose would give us that. Leeds to win 2 - 1. Their goal scored from another another free kick into Meslier's top right corner of the net (as in Burnley, Newcastle and Southampton).
Best of Luck Steve.
Simply massive game for both teams, we must be ready and at it from the start (unlike at Everton). Watford will certainly be up for it too, we can't afford them to close the gap on us!
The result is obviously all that matters, a win would be simply brilliant, a draw not the end of the world.
Good luck mouseman, with burnley taking all three points last night the 9 point gap to 18th has been slashed and with our very poor negative goal difference i cant sit back with my finest periwinkle slippers on, in front of a raging coal fire and with a sweet sherry in my hand unlike TC🤣
Big game for us we need to win i feel, a draw wouldn't be a disaster, but if we can come away from Vicarage Road with 3 points at 5 o clock it will be a massive leap forward to ensure PL football will be at ER 22/23 season.
Praying for a clean sheet too so im saying 1-0 Leeds rapha from a free kick.
good luck mouseman.
MOT
Quality MDT Mouseman and good luck for a prolonged run....
Can't believe this game is only 30mins from my house but can't go due to the boy's football.... I was offered 2 freebie tickets today as well, albeit in the Watfordscum end!!
I'd start Summerville on the right and Harrison on the left and play Raphinha up top instead of James.... never gonna happen though.
I'm going for a positive 1-0 victory with Summerville finally coming off the bench to save ourselves a fortune when Raphinha goes in the summer....
Chillax all and this game will PROVE that the mighty Leeds are staying oop....
Good Luck My Friend!
The Master of the MDT, Mouseman the Magnificent, marks the match with a momentous memo.
Watford 0-2 Leeds (Mateusz and Meslier)
Marsching on together 💛💙
