We can then speculate about Summerville going to some "big club" and Sinesterra going to AC Milan, Loanees signing for current clubs, Do we want Harrison back, wht about Aaronsen and Rasmus, Llorente? Roca? The Austrian guy that plays in Germany who said he was not leaving? Will Charlie and Joffy be sent out on loan? Do we sell Bamford? Can we buy Rodon? What about Antony and Roberts?

I didn't know Connor Roberts was named in the Championship team of the year last season.... that means he's the best RB in the league!

He says he also likes a scrap which means he will suit us and he brings assists and goals to his game.... sounds ideal and can't work out why Bumley got rid of him for the standard they are at near the bottom of the Prem. They must have brought in a worldbeater to replace him to get away from relegation! You'd have thought he'd been good enough and bought in a creative playmaker or goalscorer instead to get extra points....

He apparently gets on great with Rodon, Ampadu and James in the Welsh connection so should fit in seemlessly.... well done Farke.

It means Archie can be rested and rotated in his proper position to give us competition....

McGurk has stalled for a while, and was never given an opportunity to step up to the first squad so best of luck for pastures new. He joins Bate, Poveda, Hjelde, as the decks are cleared for new talent. I'd say Charlie Allen is the best u21 player by along way, and the only one anywhere near getting a first team call up.

Spot on Soopa, he had been scoring for fun and certainly this season was one of the stand-out players. Not sure any of the other U-21's, apart from the pacy Allen have shown the required. Said it elsewhere, looking from the outside it seems a bit like the U-21's have been somewhat abandoned, influx of talent nowhere to be seen.

Heard he was given a week of training with the first team reserves and Farke felt he was not going to challenge the first team so they club let him go on loan but McGurk ask if he was going get a new contract and the club said we will see how you do on loan so his agent got said loan to be straight permanent move.

Honestly, both him and Gelthardt would have been better off staying at Wigan as they both were around the first team game days squads while they were 16/17.

Clubs should be buying players when it's going well and getting players ready for when we WILL get injuries, suspension and loss of form....

We WILL go through a sticky patch of only picking up a couple of points from 5 games....

Our defence is threadbare after losing Ayling, Hjelde and Spence....

Strukij is taking far longer than expected....

Coops is rumoured to be going to Blackbum but if he doesn't, he'll be injured after 2 games....

Firpo will be injured within the next couple of games as has been proven so far....

Byram is picking up injuries....

Cresswell may or may not be back in the fold....

Rodon will get injured or suspended by the law of averages.... we will look crap and concede goals when he's out.

Ampadu needs to stay in midfield but is a great cover option for CB....

We CANNOT be left with the likes of Gray and Shacks playing out of position....

I know many of you are happy with who we have but I fear it's gonna come back and bite us on the bum.... it's not fkn rocket science 😲

A lot of the above mentioned by TC has happened or is there now.

Like TC, I do feel there is room for a couple of players, but it may well be so that for FFP or other financial reasons we can't spend much.

The dilemma is that even signing 3 quality players wouldn't guarantee promotion but if we fail to go up we'll loose most of our top players, which would make future promotion even more difficult.

It also looks/feels like we've kind of given up on our U-21's or are they pushing the even younger lads in there now?

Ok, let's unpick some of that. Hjelde may be in the first team squad but would you have noticed? As far as I can see, he made the bench twice this season. His loss will make no impact on our promotion cmpaign.

Luke Ayling, a big presence in the dressing room, that I think we can all agree on. But he hasn't played since 3 November. Spence too has hardly pkayed, six games in total I think. Between them, they haven't notched up a half season in appearances.

You need to offset that by the fact that the only way Farke can play Gray is at RB. Now I do think we should sign a RB and I think we will aquire one, albeit it will be one on loan. And I think it would make sense if they could cover LB as well.

Speaking of which, I really don't believe promotion will depend or fall on whether we have a third LB. Struik, Cooper can always cover in the event of an emergency.

Any worries re CB are covered by Cresswell coming back into the fold, and the versatility of Ampadu which also facilitates,a place for the ever impressive Gruev. We are well covered in this area.

There's also the fitness of Dallas, I have no idea what's happening there, none of us do. But the club does.

With Gnonto and Cresswell committing to LUFC this season, we just need someone who can play RB and LB and we really need a No10 like Pablo

Sunderland are trying to build a CB partnership for the future by pairing Nectarios Triantis with Leo Hjelde. This would be a left foot, right foot pairing with both having exceptional upside both being u21 internationals for their countries.

Not only have we missed out on David Brooks, he's gone to one of our rivals at Southampton! 🤬

He'd have been a great, cheap loan signing and good enough to be at least a squad player for us next season if we reach the Prem....

If we sell Gnonto, who has done virtually nothing for us overall, we'd have been able to get quality players like Brooks and Godfrey on loan with FFP and definitely get promoted.... I hope the 69ers prove me wrong before the transfer window closes

Gnonto has already committed himself for the season. Brookes was a fake news story.

The only transfer in play is a right back. I'm not all that worried one way or another if one is signed given the current form and performances of the team.

With Gnonto and Cresswell commiting to LUFC the only need is a fullback but I would love another No.10 too
