Iheanacho is quality but wasn't up to Citeh standard and very unlucky that Leicester only played a system with one oop top.... and that was Vardy.

He'd score loads in the Championship if given a run to get us promoted and can be subbed for Piroe if it's not working in games. Bit harsh for Joseph but this is big boys football....

Perfect solution on loan to stay within PPI and get Buendia and Elvidi as well!

Farke also said about Buendia that he doesn't talk about any player at another club under contract....

Surely he'd just say "we're not in for him" if we weren't in for him....if you see what I mean!?

I just can't understand why clubs like Everton, West Ham, Wolves, Leicester etc etc are not in for him?

They need a player like him to create goals!?

It's only us being linked!!

This is what Farke said today - “I think it’s fair to say if there is a creative offensive player out there, like a number 10 position, then it is something that could be beneficial for our group," He's still got the fishing rod out. I reckon it's all down to Buendia's wages.

He played 60 minutes from the start and by all reports looked comfortable but game fitness was lacking hence his sub after a hour.

For the record Gelthardt play around 25m for Hull and looked comfortable but rusty.

And yes, Solomon has come good over the last few games and Aaronson has played a big number of games/minutes and can clearly consider himself a fav player.

Reality is that the lack of a real nr. 10 in a lot of games, for me at least, hasn't gone away. The striker situation is another worry for me.

Piroe scores his fair share but beyond that? Joseph & the injured Bamford, the young ones ?

Now we've got the Struijck situation all over again (?), and the best we get to hear is "we're awake". Really? Wöber at CB, yes gladly but him and injuries seem to have a pretty good relationship too.

Last season ended with egg on their and ultimatily our faces.

Why not try to avoid the same happening again, even more so when the money is there or at least should be there.

Once again gambling and sitting on their hands, I just can't get my mind around that.

That kind of logic blows my top.

Admit that we're top of the league now and I'll accept that the league probably isn't as strong as it was last season, but in truth that's only more reason to do something.

Most good sides invest when there on top.

Yes Soopa, as I mentioned here just before with the Pascal situation they need to look at the defensive side too. LB (and other positions) will most certainly need to be adressed in time.

Was really, but I mean really glad to read that if and when we get to the promised land, even Smurf said we would need to look at reinforcing several positions.

Here's hoping that in itself persuades/convinces Farke.

I just pray that we get there.

Yes indeed, it’s not really an improvement on York though,. I would like to see our u21s playing Div 1 or 2. Gelhardt, Greenwood and Gyabi are the only ones playing championship, Perkins in Div 1 and Crew j. div 2. That’s the level our players should be aiming for.

Saw that, think that's most of our business done. Crew's gone to Doncaster. MIght see Debayo or Chambers or both go out on loan. After Farke and Kinnear's comments, I'm not expecting any incomings, although I still think we will add to the u21s.

I've just seen that Buendia is behind 4/5 players in the Villa team.... surely we can get him on loan with an option to buy for the Prem if he does well!?

Add striker Barry as well from Villa on loan, Davies on loan from Spuds and we keep within PPI....

Fkn simple and not rocket science....

Yes, seems Gelhardt & Crew are on the verge of signings loan deals at Hull & Donny resp.

Going off topic , but when watching the cup game I was thinking how much players like Joseph, Joffy & Crew (the latter played in a few) are missing playing competitive games to win back their mojo.

Yes the more promising youngsters are training with the first team but as a result they seem to hardly get any game time with the U21's.

Need to remember those U21's games lead to Jimmy, Greenwood and Gelhardt emergence. Even the injured players (like Gruev) weren't able to ease their way back playing with the U21's. Perhaps the rules have changed, but not having a reserve team league isn't helping.

Mind you, we would seriously need to beef up the number of squad players. Not happening.😏

Joe Gelhardt having a medical today according to internet rumourmonkers, ahead of a move to Hull Tigers. It was only a handful of years ago that Joe was being touted as one of the best 100 young players in the world. I think this will come back to bite us in the end.

He reminds me a lot of Wayne Rooney. Emanates strength and power. Good at build up play, passing and movement. U think the goals could have come, just as I hope they do for Joseph. I remember Joel Ann Greenwood scoring for fun in the u21s a few years back.

Re Greenwood: it was a new trend, at the time, when we paid real money for teenagers Greenwood, Gelhardt, Drameh and Gyabi, as they were supposed to be big part of Leeds’ future. That didn’t go well, did it? Still hopes for Gyabi, though, fingers crossed 🤞.

Tin hat time but our squad is unbalanced....

We have too many quality wingers and central midfielders and don't have a PROPER striker or creative no10.

When I say we have too many quality wingers, I'll totally contradict myself cause I say we need quality cover for EVERY position....

I'd sell Gnonto as he's just not doing it consistently for us. If we're to get 15m I'd sell him in this window as I don't know if he'd cut it in the Prem anyway. Great to see Gruev back but I wouldn't have him in ahead of Amps, Tanaka or Rothwell. Ampadu will always play when fit....

I'd get rid of Firpo, Struijk (but bring in Elvidi), Gruev, Gnonto and Bamford....all on big wages and we'd bring in circa 40m for them to add to whatever we have to spend.

I just think we could have one less quality winger and a midfielder and buy a decent striker and no10....

We're heavily linked to Nico Elvidi who has 56 caps for Switzerland as a CB. Farke used to manage him and speaks highly of him....

Struijk is linked to Spurs, Brighton and Wolves for 20/25m and we can get Elvidi for 8m....a great bit of business.

Only slight problem is we'd lose a left footer in Struijk.

Nobody wants 'one of our own ' to go, but this is a great deal....

Ideally we'd keep Struijk and sign Elvidi.... and sell Wober but we'd only get 5m(?) for him

Every player has a price and if we get offered silly money, then yes we accept, but I just don't think we will get offered anything like that for Struijk, more like £12m. Given he's one of the best CBs in the championship and integral to our promotion campaign, that's not worth it for me.
