So here we are, an unusual season with the award purely based on TV viewing. Even so there are a few that make the top 3, what are your top 3 and ultimately your number one?
To start the ball rolling my top three are in no particular order;
Patrick Bamford. Never thought he’d be so effective at this level, I had my doubts last season so hats off to the lad. His goals are a major reason we are mid table.
Stuart Dallas. Immense season. Goals, tackles and total commitment.
Raphinha. One of the best buys at any level. Scares defences sh.tress.
For me, the number one is Dallas. Never stops, always on it. Mr Consistent.
Dallas, Raphina and then Paddy
Who can argue? Dallas is POTS!
Dallas cements his POY with that performance alone. Superman
Well it has to be Stuart Dallas after that performance doesn’t it? Well done Stuart, Top Man💛💙

***** STUART DALLAS *****
Agree with Icelandic White
1st Dallas
2nd Raphinha
3rd Phillips
Young player Meslier
Remember that season Charlie Taylor won it due to the fact that there was no opposition, basically ever other player in the team was terrible.
Nice to be in this position, who do you chose really, so many options.
I would probably just go for Raphinha above dallas but would have no qualms if one of say 6 others won.
Team of the season.
For my it is Dallas. And best young player is Meslier
Dallas fantastic player and a bargin
Dallas for me.
Man, this is a serious headache!
Given that the majority of the squad are still from the Championship side, you could make a case for most of them due to them performing over and above the call of duty, the exceptions being Costa, Klich & Alioski. So my main contenders are as follows.
Meslier - Has been a steady influence in the team, still has the odd tendency to be Lionel Messi with the ball but will continue to improve.
Ayling - Rock solid at the back and causes a real issue for opponents when linking up with the attackers. Great stand in Captain and leads by example.
Strujik - Shown himself to be more than capable when deputising at the centre of the defence. Has come on leaps and bounds.
Dallas - A complete transformation from the player we signed from Brentford. He is without doubt our modern day Paul Madeley and to be mentioned in the same breath speaks volumes. Needs to donate his lungs to science!!.
Phillips - The engine room of the team and deservedly now recognised by England and his peers. It's true that the team somehow fail to function when he is missing. I personally thought he was a waste of a good shirt a few years ago, but The Master saw something and the rest is history.
Raphinha - Well what can you say. A whirlwind that has blown away most of the opposition. A bit fancy dan when first in the team, but once he got to grips with the role and what was required, has not looked back. Premier League's bargain buy of the season!
Harrison - No big surprise to anyone that I'm a big fan of Jack's. Yes does have the odd wobble every now and then but what he gives to the team is immense. Has continually improved year on year. Work rate is second to none and always available to assist team members.
Bamford - I have lost the number of times over the past seasons when I've given him dog's abuse for his seemingly inability to put the ball between 3 pieces of wood and was even more sceptical as we made it into the Premiership. Humble Pie has been devoured by the bucket loads since our arrival and he is without doubt an integral part of the team, not only for his goal scoring but all round play in bringing others into the team.
So, what's my 1,2,3?
1 - Bamford - To win games you need to score goals, this has propelled us up the league and he even has a chance of being top goal scorer.
2 - Dallas - Any team needs a player that can be called upon to fill roles effectively in any position and Dallas has proved than time and time again and chips in with the odd goal.
3 Phillips - To be honest, I would probably call this joint 2nd with Dallas given the option. Fantastic for breaking up the opposition, steadying the defence and getting us on the front foot going forward. No doubt The Master's first name on the teamsheet.
Andy man what are you trying to do to us????
We have had many outstanding performances/performers all year
im thinking young Meslier, Luke Ayling has been really good and his combination with Raphinha has opposition managers/teams rushing to the toilet. Jack Harrison not only for his clever wing play his goals have really been important and helped us collect many a 3 pointer when other teams would only get 1.
Cooper really leads the team both on and off the pitch and i for one am proud that he is Captain of our Club. Like you andy didnt think Bamford would score enough goals in the PL so happy to eat humble pie, such a decent lad, comes across well in interviews and always gives 110% for the jersey. Agreed and unfortunately Koch and Llorente had they not been injured for so long they'd be on the list.
Pascal has really improved and when asked to fill KP role he done his very best.
Down to last two in my book Dallas and Philips. As you asked on another thread there is very little between them and are that little bit ahead of the others in the squad. Dallas has been brilliant all year playing probably in 6 different positions and has never let the side down, really consistent and rarely has his opponent gotten the the better of him, but if i MUST PICK ONE for me Kalvin gets the nod. If Kalvin dosent play or is being hemmed in by the opposition leeds dont play well and confidence that day seems to drain away. KP has done well this season in the international front too and has really staked a claim for a spot on the English Euro's team coming up this summer
Jeez Andy, that's a hard one this season with so many contenders....
Meslier, Ayling, Kalvin, Raphinha, Harrison and Hattrick are all in with a shout.... I bet if Koch and Llorente had not been injured they'd be on the list!!
I'll go for Dallas purely because he can play in ANY position well and doesn't look out of place. His workrate is unbelievable and he's not running out of steam yet....
How many players have ever been nominated for a prestigious award like this without knowing what his best position is.... he's the first name on the team sheet but you don't know where he'll be playing!! 👍⚽🤣👏
