Signed from Bayern for £10miilion
Left foot DCM
The game is all about opinions and IMO he is nothing like a poor man's Okon, just as I thought Forshaw was sensational this season when he played. Hey what do I know? I just watch games, have no FIFA coaching qualifications, don't know any current scouts, just a few London agents.
Roca is a disciplined DCM, wont make crunching challenges like Batty or KP but will stay on his feet using his intelligence to nick the ball away from their player.
Can receive the ball in tight spaces, play short and long passes but most will not be lateral. He will look for attacking options.
Not too bad in the air may not be lightning fast but a decent turn of pace and great work ethic.
If his attitude is right and he really wants to improve, then he is a great signing for the price we have paid.
I will never knock a player after we have signed him. He is at ER and needs our support. Confidence is the key for any sportsman and when he feels loved, he will run through brick walls.
Time will tell if he is a good buy but Arsenal paid £75million for Pepe and that was no guarantee of success! Manure paid £90million for Pogba and he was not exactly the success they thought, Chelsea paid £95million for Lukako and that is not working out well. On paper they should have all walked this league but the game aint played on paper.
So give this boy a chance then judge.
Move aside Douglas Bader with your three testicles - it's time for a new flyboy hero on this MB.
Guy Gibson and his spambusters equipped with their bump bombs
.
This long break is not what Roca needs. The more game time the better for lad as he was rusty as and it showed in his game play. His turning and chasing is slow but think he could be a extremely good option slightly higher where his weighted forward passing would provide Sinesterra and Aaronson that little bit of time and space to attack or even first time shot.
.
Just £10 million? Are you serious?
More games under his belt and this guy is a game changer
I'm not with Dan on anything he posts.
We're 5th in the PL with the 2nd youngest squad. What we did against Chelsea was wonderful and it's inevitable there will be setbacks along the way. Brighton are a very good side.
Let's try to judge after a few more games??
I am with Dan on this guy also I don’t think he has an engine at the moment for 90mins
A proper player and one that will only get better in my opinion
Looks like a proper player! I hope he keeps it up!!
Think it'll be more about outgoings than incoming now. Despite what happens with Raph and/or Phillips, we need to offload quite a few players.
like you guy im in the dark when it comes to our new recruits. On the plus tho its nice to get our business done early so that when everyone returns to TA the team / squad will be effectively complete bar possibly one more, so in this regard im pleased.
Don't really know a lot about Roca or the other 2 lads we've signed.
The biggest difference they'll have to cope with are the intensity and pace of the Premier league. In contrast with the continent, in most games there will hardly be any time to take the foot of the gas.
Do believe most of our fans will give them a fair chance and as always they'll be fully behind the team. One could argue that we've been rather patient with the likes of Rodrigo, Firpo & James, certainly when we consider that the results were not exactly going our way.
If the effort is there, they'll be surported.
Hey BB, great write up. Yes the game is about each individual perspectives and opinions. The way you explained Roca is basically exactly like how Okon played in the 90' for club Brugge and then Lazio. No slite.
We will need to play neat and tidy possession based football to get the absolute best out of him and he is a upgrade on Forshaw and the aging Klich. Bonus you can say that he has in the past played beside Firpo with the Spanish U21's.
The best part of this is that the deal has been completed before the full preseason starts which finally allows a play to bed into both the club and team. I am hoping this allows the very best of Roca to be seen.
