Radrizanus and Marschio are discussing the campaign so far. R. So Marschio, or do you prefer Boggio as some of the ranks have named you? M. Marschio is my given name sire, although I did hear the alternative whispered in our post battle defensive circle before we saluted our loyal camp followers. R. So be it. So what are your ruminations on our just finished scrap with the sneaky foxy, doggy, bite your ankles clan? M. Given the small amount of time with our new tactical maps, and all those round pegs squeezed into that square cut gaming board, we almost carried the day, but I think the gods turned their heads away from us, probably because Bielserus was so beloved by them. R. What is your opinion on our current warriors? M. It seems to me sire that the majority have been carrying minor wounds from the intensive sparing between battles. I plan to reduce the thickness of the practice swords and use bounteous padding in future. R. So who is up next in this campaign? M. Aston and his villains. A nasty clan with a strange talking leader who spits in your face when he talks. We are fighting them in grounds of our choosing where our noble camp followers will help rouse our warriors to a winning feverous pitch. Bit we need to strike first. Our swords and spears need to be sharper and the death strikes need more commitment. I also predict the posh lad will make his first appearance since he stepped on that over cooked dry pea several moons ago. The camp cook has sent to the mines for allowing this to happen. R. Are we to remain in this campaign of such wealth and reward or must we entertain the notion of once more fighting those dreadful clans like the Mill toilet wall or Burning Ham ? Copious mead cannot shake the thought of facing them once more. M. Have faith sire. Our Ultimate Spear Attack, or USA for short will soon be sung from the faithful. R. Make sure I don’t come to doubt your faith. Our head executioner is getting twitchy once more.

It wasn’t just Roberts when Costa was here it was both of them. It isn’t even the types of player. It’s the manger’s narrow mindedness. It’s obvious that both players were not the answer, and Roberts, for example, was not the answer in the Championship! To me this a major weakness in the managers mindset. Creswell is in because he’s a last resort, he wouldn’t be playing if he was midfielder. I hope MB doesn’t leave a legacy of being too bloody minded to change things. The last few games of the season were a wasted chance. Mollifying finishes against some top opposition but what did we learn? Costa and Roberts were his answer. A rubbish pre season and what did we learn? Costa and Roberts were the answer! He was even playing Costa when everyone knew he was leaving. I really hope he can change this because I fear Roberts and Foreshaw will be the newest answer.

Given how Bull has successfully established out Premiership credentials, isn’t it now time to try out players like Gelhard and Greenwood,or has the manager got eyes on the European spots and will continue down the same line? Personally I’d love to see the former. We can get an idea if we can rely on our resources rather than the transfer market. The closed season cannot give a true reflection on how these boys can step up. Surely now it’s the time. If we did push on and grab a euro slot, I think we would over extend ourselves next season.

So here we are, an unusual season with the award purely based on TV viewing. Even so there are a few that make the top 3, what are your top 3 and ultimately your number one? To start the ball rolling my top three are in no particular order; Patrick Bamford. Never thought he’d be so effective at this level, I had my doubts last season so hats off to the lad. His goals are a major reason we are mid table. Stuart Dallas. Immense season. Goals, tackles and total commitment. Raphinha. One of the best buys at any level. Scares defences sh.tress. For me, the number one is Dallas. Never stops, always on it. Mr Consistent.

In an ideal world who would you want out and who would want to stay? Out. Alioski. Definitely reached his limit. Gives his all but we really need a higher class left back. Roberts. Yes he’s had a couple of good games but can he get better? Personally I think he’s upper Championship level. Decent, sometimes, but decent isn’t going to cut it at this level. Costa. Blimey Wolves saw us coming. Has an odd decent run just like Roberts but he’s far to lightweight and is a shocking tackler/defender. Coops. Seems harsh this one and he is THE most improved player under Bielsa. Again I think we need better quality at this level. Wouldn’t be too bothered if we did keep him as a squad player, but would he be happy playing that role? Pablo. One the best players at our club in recent years but now well past his peak. He struggled at times fitness wise last season. The most difficult replacement to find given his skill set. Beradi. Credit to him coming back from injury but I don think he’s Premiership standard. Casillas. Never rated him and way behind Meslier. Big wage I assume, which could be spent better elsewhere. In. Speaks for itself. Everyone else ( unless I’ve missed someone obvious! )
