Team for next season

Well the easy part is done!!

Going on the performance of last years promoted teams,we will have to spend big to have any chance of staying in the PL.

Ipswich spent around 130 million,Leicester around 100 million & Southampton around 70 million last summer and are all relegated with 4 or more games left.

Who does everyone think we should keep/sell from current squad -

I would go with something like this

Gk- New GK (would love Trafford but doubt it,Maybe Nick Pope),Darlow as no. 2

Guy has said that we don't have any money left for transfers in the January window due to psi/ppi (whatever the fk it is) and the 69ers also said (or some "in the know" journalists?) that we couldn't buy any players late on in the last window....

What I don't understand is why we were in for Harry Wilson in the last couple of hours of the summer window, and indeed still trying to force a deal through for the couple of hours after it had closed with the paperwork rules etc....

Surely if we had no available money, how the fk was a deal for him going to get done!?

Even Fulham have confirmed we were near to getting him....he would have been £12-15(?)m so how were we so close to getting him? The money MUST have been available!?

Either we did/do have the funds to buy or we can't!?

Surely the 69ers had done their sums and known if we could get him or not!?

Is it only me that's clever cause no reports seem to have picked up on this?

Anyone want to take a go at the MDT ?

MDT v Citeh

First off I just want to see this is fkn posted before any inane ramblings.... I'll add to it once it has, to stop my hours of preparation only to find it's not approved or lost in cyber space.

Fair play to Mouseman for keeping our iconic MDT running but he's obviously not up to the job.... we've lost to all the little teams around us and now find ourselves deep in a relegation battle.

3-2 at FT.

But what a turnaround in performance,.

Like Mouseman said, even unlucky.

But as so often in the past we've not come away with anything to show for it in terms of points.

Second half was like watching an episode of Britain (Leeds did in this case) has talent. Once our own TC had taken over from Farke as interim coach, we simply looked a very different team.

The change in formation, tactics and the early subs were just spot on.

All of a sudden we had a team full of running, showing grit, effort and determination. Players went looking and asking for the ball, we actually played good football with passes going forward rather then sideways, backwards or astray.

The back 5 looked a much more solid formation with FB's going forward and a special mention to Bogle who simply had a fantastic second half.

The midfield came to life with Amps, AO and Gruev all notably far more involved (not yet perfect but so much better).

TC's decision to have both Nmecha & DCL up front not only ruffled some City feathers,, but the home defence cage was firmly rattled.

Saidly we didn't get or just reward,s and the next 2 games will again prove very difficult. Then again there are no easy games in this league,. But in truth most of us probably don't expect anything from those kind of games. So if we get anything from those that would indeed be a bonus.

Anyway, only expected a heavy defeat today and after the first minute I told my son, this could well end into double figures.

In the end, pride was firmly restored and if anyone still needed convincing or reminding, our fans are Top of the Premiership quality.

Fingers crossed Farke learned something today and sticks with TC's formation and tactics.

The season thus far...

Our season thus far ... and a look ahead

Being bored and anxious before the all important game against the Villains, I had a  look back at our performances and results from team, management and board.

In truth, probably a bit too early to tell us how the rest of the season will pan out, but maybe at least an indication of how things could turn out.

First and foremost the results and performances show a real divide between us at home or away. With away results and performances showing and proving to be nothing but relegation from, luckily our home form tells a different story.

Home (8pts from 15): some really good performances against top sides, up for it and at least giving as good as we got. With a bit more know-how, experience or better management we could and should perhaps be looking at 2 or 3 more…

Great write up Guy and a shame only a few people will be able to find it on this site....

Out of all our players, Rodon apart, we can make a case for EVERY position on the pitch to not be nailed down....mid table clubs will have 5/6 players who they won't move from that spot....

Yes today, we pressed and huffed and puffed but that is not good enough for this standard....we need someone to be able to change games with the X factor.

We have 2 of these types of player in James and Gnonto but they are left on the bench to make way for a work horse to be able to track back and help our defence out.... that's just giving in before we even start!!

In any other job, if things aren't working by continually doing the same thing you fkn tweak it or CHANGE it!

I've constantly said that we have good attacking full backs so play them further up the pitch supporting our wingers and take the game to the opposition.... play 3 CBs!!

It may or may not work but the present system doesn't work so it can't be any fkn worse.... just basics and Farke is so inept by NOT tweaking and trying something different!!

Not fkn rocket science for a manager on 25-50k PW who has played and managed at a decent standard his whole life....
