Love this from the papers-----aside from the abuse hurled at Australia’s players in the second Test during the final day of their victory in London, which prompted the Marylebone Cricket Club to suspend three members. There will be no Long Room in Leeds, but if you think some expletives from the toffs is raucous just wait until 3pm at Headingley when the Yorkshire crowd is 10 pints deep.----PMSL--🤣
I really do not get us playing the high and mighty!!
We won the world cup after a ball hit Stokes bat and went for 4, which was against the rules. If it is "this is not cricket" then Stokes should have told the umpire not to award the overthrow, but hey we want to win the world cup!
I have seen us take catches where the ball clearly hit the ground for a fleeting moment, body not in control but wicket given. No uproar then
Starc clearly caught the ball but was stupid enough to let it roll on the ground so Duckett got let off. His mistake but right decision according to rule of the game. If "this is not cricket" Duckett should have walked.
Bairstow is an effing idiot. All he needed to do is spend a fraction of a second, look at umpire and ask it the over was over. By the rules of cricket, it was a fair dismissal.
Lets stop moaning and think we ae the real gentleman when we are not. If the shoes were on the other foot, we would have quite rightly appealed. I cannot stand 2 faced people.
Imagine if the Australian actually played for love of game instead of the Cricket Australia contracts and match payments they now demand and only play for. 98% of the Australian team deem themselves to good to go back and play club cricket and complain when they are ask yo play state cricket.
I am old to enough to remember watching Steve Waugh play for Australia, and 1 day later for his state (NSW blues) and 6 days later for his club (bankstown) side along side his brother and then for Australia again at the end of that month.
Another (like mankading) where the letter of the law allows the spirit of the law to be smashed :-(
Short ball theory to be negative and destructive and then this kind of gamesmanship continues to damage test cricket. We'll all be stuck with pyjama cricket in 30 years time - 50 over cricket will be the long form of the game.
I'm disappointed with all the bouncers - the short stuff may have been an effective way for both sides to nullify the batting and get wickets, but it's a rubbish watch.
There's more at stake than just the ashes - test cricket is fading and today was just another nail in the coffin.
I support the idea of trying to play entertaining and attacking test cricket - because if we get more of today's fare there won't be an audience for test cricket any more - and that would suit the money men just fine :-(
The only problem with Bazball is that getting a good score quickly leaves the opposition loads of time to knock off the runs.... we've also got to somehow get 20 wickets with 3 pensioners in the team.
Great series that. Brilliant ending and fair result.
Test cricket at its best, now for the 100 which is a load of poppycock imo.
Yeah I remember his dad. Probably had mental health issues in the days when nobody could say anything.... RIP David.
If we can somehow squeeze in a few hours around the rain we'll win this and set up the best ever Test series at The Oval....
Bairstow - love the guy.
Leeds lad, done England proud.
Robinson injured today so gives the easy option for our selectors to bring Anderson straight back....
Why pick the pensioner Anderson after what Wood ha done today?

Lets hope England play a proper spinner and Woakes not donkeys like Robinson and old age pensioners like Broad and Anderson
Should be a Farking cracker at Headinley----most non-biased fans in the country lol-🤓 Get over it England

Have to admit, best team won
Be great if it goes close again....
Unfortunately, I can't see it with our tail and we'll lose by 70 odd with Stokes caught on the boundary....
Come on Stokes, keep it up. Prove me wrong!.
Last wicket before the tail.... if Leeds supporter Bairstow sees us home we'll also get promoted!

Bazball, more like spazball.
Aussies are just better, particularly the bowlers.
I mean we won the toss and they get their star spinner injured and they will still win easily.
I forgot to mention that on top of our 3 geriatric bowlers that our captain can only bowl one over each summer....
Robinson is not a massive wicket taker which leaves part timers Root and Brook to bowl.
Wood has to come in on the flat dry pitches with his pace and a shame that Jofra not fit.
Just don't think we can take 20 wickets to win a match with this attack....
OH!! Dont get me on Bairstow!! Missed stumping and 2 drops!!!
Needs to have played for Yorkshire more!!!
Doesn't help when Broad oversteps when taking a wicket

I don’t like cricket oh yes it’s boooorinnng
