The Qatar World Cup is 11th November 2022 to 18th December 2022 so players will get a break over the summer and I would expect the Prem to announce a break during that period too.
So players will get a lot of rest before next season and during next season.
England should qualify from group D, top spot for me
Italy top A
Belgium top B
Holland top C
Spain E
and the group of death (F) i think Germany will top that, with the very last game in the group stages between Portugal & France deciding which team progress turning out to be the best game of the tournament.
After the group stages England win or 2nd in group D are playing a team from group F so Southgate will need all of the players hitting the ground running and raring to go for that game.
Apart from Kalvin, lets hope their countries get knocked out at the group stages so they have a rest before our pre-season starts. Season begins on 14th August to I would expect MB would want to start preseason 5-6 weeks before.
I would have thought someone like freddie woodman at Swansea would have a better claim to a spot than blunts keeper jezz he was horrific all season, and tbf to someone like woodman who has played for the english national team since U16 and wasnt he in goal for the U17 Euro winning team in 2014.
Unless England win this year or get to a final at the very least i cant see Southgate being allowed to continue.
Relegated keepers have had plenty of practice! Just worried about their postures, as frequently bending over to pick the ball out of the net could cause a curved spine😬
If im honest i think Danny Ings can certainly feel aggrieved by not getting selected ok 12 goals this season but he missed 8 PL games scored 22 in the 19/20 season so 34 goals in the top flight for the last 2 seasons in what is considered to be one of the top leagues in the World isnt bad (average 17).
I think Ings is more clinical than PB but in no way will Ings do what PB does he physically wouldn't be able to do it. So i do agree what more could Paddy have done this year??? but hopefully paddy rests up and as guy says hopefully Paddy will try even harder next season (good for us) to try and prove Southgate wrong. But Southgate will only be wrong if England dont win or at the very least reach the final of the Euros.
What i really dont get is how 2 keepers got picked after they have been relegated, now thats a head scratcher for me....
I think Portugal are very strong especially at the back with Cancelo and Dias back there, Fernandes pulling the strings in midfield with Jota, Silva & Robknobldo up front its a strong spine, think they will go a long way
The goalkeeper situation sounds bizarre when you say it like that, but then again how many English goalkeepers are there? They are actually the 4th and 5th best English goalkeepers after Pickford, Pope (injured) and Henderson.
Those 2 keepers will be back in the Prem soon enough I'm sure.
After the undroppable Harry Kane, Hattrick Bamford has the MOST goals, MOST assists and runs further and works harder than any other striker.... WTF else can he do!?
I'm not sure Hattrick, Calvert Lewin or Watkins are top international class but another striker like them is needed before Southgate copies the likes of Citeh and plays player's who can 'do a job' up top....
Hattrick will probably think about playing for another international country now after qualifying for them by winning a game of Dublin Monopoly....
As Alan Partridge would say, 'deres more to Oireland dan dis....'
I would love Bambi to play for us and show Southgate what a gobshite he is. Pretty sure that Pablo O'Hernandez must have some paddy blood in him. Plenty of ships from Spain docked in Ireland at various stages of our history lol!.

Theres also the world cup next year. Some of our top internationals arent going to get a break until Summer '23

On a positive, I'll be watching the Euros a bit more closely now we have a representative at each home nation.
Well done to Tyler, Kalvin and Liam.
I'll have a cheeky cheer for Alioski, Llorente, Klich and Koch too of course :-)

None can really play the ball our from the back like Meslier!

BB, as a Leeds fan & Belgian i'm feeling exactly the same way BB.
Hope the Euro's don't take too much out of our selected players.
Hope Philips gets fit, but we need him more than England do.
A quick turnaround after the Euro's and far more important for our players to get a decent pre-season under MB's guidance.
In terms of motivition the non-selection of the likes of Patrick & Rodrigo may supply them with even more gusto to do well next season.
Pat getting a rest is more important than him having a summer at the Euros sitting on a bench,
I honestly hope KP is cut too as next season is more important.
I will not watch the opening games against 3-bit teams England should beat by 5 at least. May start to watch if we get to the quarters and beyond.
Internationals means so much less to me than they did when I was in primary school. It is only LUFC that matters.

F..k. em. Southgate doesn’t use KP in his best role, so any appearance from Paddy would probably be the same.
For me Southgate has a total reliance on one or two players and if they are out of form or injured he struggles to make others fit.
Feel for Paddy but selfishly I’m glad he’s not going.
they've scored almost the same number of goals and Watkins is a lot younger. May grate with us, but that's the world.
Bamford will have to score 20+ and be lucky with injuries ever to get a call up.
Ings also overlooked
