Can someone explain the point of the loans going out? That's three now already. I understand that the wage will come off the wage bill, but anyone replacing them will go on the wage bill, at maybe a slightly less amount but still, little savings. And if there is no transfer fee coming in then there's no cash available to buy replacements. Anyone?

Clubs are only allowed to loan 7 players out this season
Llorente. Koch and Aaronsen have gone out on loan with Rasmus and Roca close that is 5 so only 2 more can be loaned out.
Anymore that want to go will have to be sold or have their contracts terminated.
Am sure AR has a clause in the sale that will give him a % of any transfer fees received in the first 12/24 months so it probably suits 49ers to get players out on loan
Easy to answer. It's called contract terms.
In order to get players to sign for us in the EPL we have to offer them a contract, which almost always includes a crippling wage cut or an option to leave after relegation because they are paid too much.
In the cases of Koch and Llorente it was very specific they could go (relegation release clause). In other cases if nobody wants to buy then loan it is - and remember a player has a say in their destination, they aren't objects, so even if a bid comes in the player can say no.
We can pretend we "own" a player and try to tell them what to do - it will never end well, either because we have a rebel in the changing room OR no agent will come near us again because our reputation stinks in the trade.
The fee we have paid for a player is a "sunk" cost and makes no difference to what's best today. A slightly lower wage bill is better than a full wage bill and an angry demotivated player
