Well this run has lasted one game longer than I expected. Now we have our first home draw in 13! Celebration time!!!
This Saturday at 3.00pm the Mighty Whites will take on Plymouth in front of a sell out ER
Plymouth Argyle lost boss Steven Schumacher to Stoke in December. In has come new head coach Ian Foster
Finn Azaz, Luke Cundle and Kaine Kesler-Hayden were recalled by parent clubs.
In have come defender Ashley Phillips on loan from Spurs, midfielder Darko Gyabi on loan from Leeds and Alfie Devine, also on loan from Spurs. and Adam Forshaw from Norwich.
Centre-back Macaulay Gillesphey has signed for an undisclosed fee from Charlton.
Devine had spent the first half of the season with Port Vale and is cuptied as is Forshaw and Gyabi cannot play against his parent club.
Despite this they pose a real attacking threat as Whittaker and Hardie are well into double figures with goals in the Championship. Foster will put out his strongest available side.
Expect us to have 70% possession so let's be ruthless.
I would play:
Meslier
Byram Ampadu Cooper Firpo
Gruev Kamara
Antony Rutter Summerville
Piroe
Subs: KK Shackleton Rodon Bamford Joseph Geldhart Poveda Hjelde Allen
With Gray, James, Struik and Gnonto out, it really shows we are short of numbers. Hopefully by 1st Feb, 49ers will have rectified that.
So sorry Guys. Not sure why a totally dominant LUFC side in the first half too their foot off it.
I really did not want a 320+ mile trip there and 320+ trip back after Bristol
Hope the 49ers allow our elite athletes to travel there and back by plane. It is only about an hour flight as opposed to 7/9 hours by coach
Will try to do better next time
Forgive me
=
Surprised Rodon, Ampadu and one or two others weren't rested.
Glad they weren't injured.
Last thing we need is a replay 'kin miles away.
I'll wait to see who we get in last 16 tomorrow before demanding we send the u21's to the replay.
Not good enough BB, get a grip man.
Just what we need another long away trip. Hang your head in shame BB!!
We just went to sleep in the second half - almost too easy in the first half.
Farke will make sure they learn their lesson - should make them cycle to the replay.....
Well if that was an inspirational half time talk, please no more. What a p*ss poor 2nd half. One or two good moments, but nothing that would have suggested following the 1st half, we were going to wipe the floor with them. Very disappointing. For some reason, we always try to dribble past that extra player which eventually fails more time than it succeeds. I suppose on the bright side (just) it still protects the stat that we are unbeaten at home.
Usual one Soopa
take a bow Anthony,great goal
any dodgy streams for this one?
Hats off to Maidstone Utd.
The magic of the cup lives on - the only team to win at Ipswich other than us.
Meslier shacks rodon cooper byram gruev ampadu gnonto rutter piroe Anthony

Cresswell back in the fold according to Phil Hay.hopefully he gets some mins v Plymouth
Good stuff BB, don't be dropping the baton now, I'd love a proper cup run. In fact I would much rather we won the cup ( I know we won't) than get promoted.
WEMBERLEEEEEEEEE
9c ☀ partial 🌥 no ☔ or 🌨 .
I see klopp is going at the end of the season, I wonder which whiner they we will replace him with. One question at the interview. Can you moan relentlessly?. Yes. Jobs yours son.
Gyabi and Devine basically have been in the last game their best players along with Whittaker.
Will be interesting which way Farke goes with this game. Squad rotation or keep it like for like...
Quality MDT BB and good luck for a prolonged run to Wemberlee....
Doesn't sound good on the injury front and hopefully we'll get through this round and the next few Championship matches with youngsters as nobody seems to want any new signings! 🙈🤣
Shame Cresswell and Hjelde aren't available and hopefully we'll sign Ben Godfrey.... if Rodon gets injured we're fkd.
Shacks and Byram as FBs and Anthony, Gnonto/Poveda and Piroe to start....
We're not going to win the cup but a run in it really gets the city buzzing....
I'm going for a positive 1-0 victory with Piroe notching....
Great stuff BB - just goes to show what can be achieved when I ditch a MDT commitment.
I reckon you'll get a round 5 MDT to do, we're looking pretty well unbeatable at home these days. Plymouth have yet to win away......
Leeds (with at least 5 changes) 2-0 Plymouth Hoes
