Now we have a Sunday game against the team that is supposed to get down
This is 6 point game.
the good news is that Phillips Firpo and Raphinha are back.
Bamford and Ayling still missing. and Shackleton is doubtful
Junior Firpo is starting the game tonight for under 23 teams so he might not be available
and Joe Gelhardt is not in that team so he might start for us on Sunday
or come in for Robert in the second half. it might be the second start game for Cody Drameh
My hope is that our attacker will find the goal in this game and score a lot
Tho team that lost the last game 7-0 will for sure try to defend better
My team select ( i Know Bielsa will select Cooper and Klich)
Meslier
Cody Drameh Llorente Struijk Dallas /(too soon for Junior)
Phillipsh
Rafinha Shackelton James
Rodrico
Joe Gelhardt

James created the goal for Rafa. Great first touch and superb pass.
I did not really fancy him as a LUFC player, but now he wears the famous white shirt he has my backing. IMO he is getting slightly better each game.
However, putting up a 5'6" guy up against 6'2" CBs is a hard task. Needs the ball to feet.
KP as a No.8 is not effective IMO. He is a No.6. I hope MB stops pandering to Southgate's whims.
Yes he had the assist for our second goal but we are not as effective with him playing further upfield.
Harrison just needs to play himself back into form.
The verbals are needed, Saying nothing gets you nothing if the other team keeps giving the ref gip. Maybe, we are learning?
Harrison will be fine and simply going through a bad patch.... unfortunately, when he's not good he looks really poor but his defensive workrate will still be good.
Geldhart plays in exactly the same position as Roberts in that he can play up top or the man behind the striker.... he just does it better than Roberts so it's unbelievable that Roberts gets the nod ahead of him.
I must admit Bull that I didn't see any verbals between any of our players.... it's only natural though in whatever standard you play at, even local parks football, that players aren't exactly the same as when everything is going your way. Drameh did actually say that he couldn't expect anything more from a nicer set of lads who welcomed him into the first team recently....
It's similar to this forum that when things aren't going quite right on the pitch for us, I get loads of pm's slaughtering yourself and Lord Frostycock about your insane and c-rap posts....
I obviously don't agree with them though and would never even have thought to call you an alcoholic buffoon to be sure....
Harrison had a mare yesterday no matter what he tried nothing went his way, id prefer to forget that and cut the guy a bit of slack seeing as he had many a good day in the LUFC jersey.
I was scratching my head (again) when tyler came on. I was hoping Gelhardt would have gotten some time especially as rodders had yet another mare (sadly not his first in the white jersey). Can only now imagine how the canaries backline would have coped with him but sadly nobody will ever know the answer to that now.
One thing i did notice more so than in other televised games our players seem to be mouthing back, cooper a few times, rahpa again a good few times. Dont know were they being directed at another leeds player or the ref but ive noticed that now recently where as last year or indeed the championship winning year everyone seemed to be focused on the next ball the next play and nobody was engaging in verbals. Maybe its me in my old age!!!
I really wanted James to be signed for us although I did want a creative centre midfielder instead. I have always loved Harrison and his crossing, workrate and defending are unbelievable....
However, both players are MASSIVELY underperforming this season and I'd have a little tweak with the formation. We're playing 2 wingers + Raphinha and simply not getting crosses in....
James is NOT a centre forward. If we're playing this false 9 then surely Geldhart and Rodrigo can switch between them....?
I'd drop James and Harrison and bring in Summerville and Geldhart as they're in form....
I'm also surprised that such an attacking manager thinks that Forshaw has a place in the team!? He's slow, non creative and a Championship 'bits and pieces' type of player. Surely Bate is a better bet!?
This will never happen though as Bielsa is so unbelievablely loyal to his squad especially after we've just got a win.... I'm just surprised that Raphinha gets in ahead of Roberts.
Take away injuries out of the equation and we are nowhere near last season’s performance.
For me the managers use of the squad is in question.
Three wingers yesterday? My goodness the manager loves a winger, but even taking that point how does he justify Harrison inclusion over Summerville based on form?
Far to much loyalty to his ( small ) first team squad.
I think Spurs are a disgrace. I never like to see a manager given such little time in the job, and I would imagine Kane and his agent will be pretty non plussed. Graham Potter and Conte are the favourites but would any upcoming manager want to work for Deadly Dan?
see that smurf
i know their results have been well off whats expected but what did Daniel levy expect him to do??? NES has had no reasonable opportunity to put his stamp on the team, has all the hallmarks of players just turning up for training if they are picked to play fine but nobody is accountable on the playing side!!
Id say the price tag for Harry Kane has dipped considerably from this time last season.
No need to worry about Nuno ES Bull, he's history.
Well Done Ice Ice Baby!! Keep the run going, please!
First and foremost we have the 3 points this morning and at the end of the day we are out of the bottom 3.
Secondly apart from Rapha the rest of the team were no where near where they should be in terms of performance
Sadly tho they were the only two positives i could see from yesterdays game.
Lets face it lads it was a terrible mistake by Krul to let rodders goal in, would we have still won it?? i dont know!!!
I thought Kalvin was way off his best, we kept giving away stupid fouls letting them off the hook too easily and in turn putting ourselves under unnecessary pressure.
Their goal what was Mesiler trying to do??? very sloppy and something he needs to eradicate from his game. Also he was lucky not to have one of his clearances blocked down, yes he was fouled but the other strikers in the PL will all see that they might think they could have a chance in winning the ball against him. MB wont address this but jezz Cooper and Philips should be.
Our next 3 games are against teams that will be in the top 10 and one that will be mid table so the difference in class to what we faced yesterday will be evident. Leicester at ER will be the hardest i feel but Spurs and Nuno ES (if still there) will feel they have to win and we know Kane & Son will try everything to get on the scoresheet that day. Last one before the silly season starts Brighton (away) will be another difficult task so if we get another 4 points from the next 9 id take it tbh.
Well done iceman our first away victory of the season keep the run going buddy as my gut is telling me its going to be a long long season and talk of the trap door will be popping up in conversation fairly frequently.
Agree Smurf. Shacks had a decent first half, then faded.
Harrison was very poor, at times passing straight to Norwich players standing
3 yards away? Nearly cost us a goal with Coops making that foul just outside the box. Have been saying it for ages, Meslier trying to be too cocky/cool cost us that equalizer + he needs to kick the ball and not stroke it every single time. Hope he learns from that mistake.
As Soopa said the win was all important even if it doesn't feel like one, probably because we all know that against any other team in this division that performance would have resulted in defeat.
Warning signs were there for all to be seen during pre-season, squad is not only thin (the way MB wants it?) but lacks cover and quality in several vital positions. At the same time we do have an abundance of the same type players.
So yes, we've been very unlucky with injuries and players losing form (certainly compared to last season overall form), but (to me) in reality we've not strengthened the squad at all.
I'd say Raphinha was a stand out performance, and his really was a wonder goal, he beat his defenders and then made the shot with pinpoint precision, it was fabulous. Rodrigo's goal was also well taken, in fact he had a decent game though started to fade before being substituted. Dallas was much improved compared to recent performances, and Phillips, Cooper and Struijk were all pretty solid. Llorente seems to have on and off days and today was an off. Neither Harrison nor James made any impact, and Shackleton had a rare game where he was mediocre rather than meritable.
I know we won but it doesn't feel like it.
.
.
Very poor.
Not many stand out performances barring rafinha.
Kalvin not up to speed.
Harrison boots on wrong feet.
etc etc
Norwich are dreadful.
We need to improve plenty.
Ugly, ugly win. But a win, and thank you very much. 7 points in the last 4 matches. Still, we’re waiting for Leeds to come back to the fluent and fast passing game we managed the last three seasons. Some, like Klich, Harrison and Dallas, are bang out of form, and that partly explains it, and James hasn’t really impressed much, either. Moreover, maybe we are experimenting too much with the formation? MOT
We are a pale imitation of last year.
Something‘s not right.
Him and Alioski will have played a big part ICE.
Most of the others also haven't performed at the same high fitness levels.
Keep up the good work ICE
Icelandic commentor talking about the miles Leeds team run in game
They have run a lot less than they did last year in same amount of game
maby it is that we miss Bamford as he is always running all around the pitsh
TC10, are talking about that handball?
Ball did hit his hand but there was zero intent, perhaps they can be given, but to me that's not a pen. If anything it was a miscontrolled ball by James.
