Ya the team has gone on long enough now without a "pablo" and now that we are playing with the big boys we need that type of player to actually win games.
I think cover should be got for Mesilier, heaven forbid if anything happens him we could go weeks without a point if we have a "green" replacement in KK.
Third on the list is a bloody striker. I wasn't convinced by Bamfords capability to score at the top level and i was glad to eat humble pie last season but much like a "pablo" no cover in that position was got and now we are constantly looking over our shoulder at the drop zone when "if" we had someone that knew where the ***king net was we should be 6-7 places further up the table and that's being conservative imho.
I reckon we are a centre back too many, especially given that Ayling and Phillips can also cover. So sayonara Koch, you never really made it, and we should be able to recoup most of your fee. His place can go to an attacking midfielder in the Hernandez mould. The other position I would be looking at is Klich who seems to be past his peak. Orta has never struggled to find that type of player, be it Swift or someone else.
I still think the Bucketmaster is doing what he's doing with the midfield because of the fullback situation.
We could play Kalvin on his own last year because we had Duracell Bunny and Bill either side all year. This year he's got to worry about Firpo finding his feet and a makeshift RB at the same time. As a result he's spreading CB cover wider across the field and needing the sweeper role.
I haven't picked superstar signings on purpose BB and think Botman, Rodrigo De Paul and Cabral would be well within our budget and be circa 50k, 70k and 50k per week respectively.... not 100k.
Who knows though and pure speculation on my part...!?
MESLIER.... Will be an all time great.... hopefully with us!
STRUJIK .... Has one great game followed by an average one followed by a shocker. He will be a good player but not as a LB!
FIRPO.... I think he will come good but his defending is awful at times.... not a good trait for a LB!! 🙈 I think he'd be great in a 3-3-3-1 or 3-5-2 etc. At least he'd have some cover behind him!!
KALVIN.... I think he's stopped playing since Forshaw came in.... it works for England with Rice alongside but he was doing BRILLIANTLY on his own before! We haven't seen him ping any 50yd balls recently and his tackling is off.... get him back on his own!
FORSHAW.... I'm not a big fan but I must admit he's outplayed Kalvin for a few games and fair play with how he's come back. When he was in the Championship, us fans were on his back all the time....he's been out for a couple of years and suddenly we're raving about him. How is he any better!!? He plays deep and gets in Kalvins way by demanding the ball and then he gets forward with some great runs but doesn't do anything with an end product. Get him out of Kalvins way and if we move him further forward then we may as well play a creative player like Geldhart....
KLICH....something wrong and not the player he was 2yrs ago.
HARRISON.... I love him and he was so good with Alioski bombing up alongside him. I think with Firpo further forward they could be good together. Harrisons workrate in getting back to defend is unbelievable and I really think he'd make a good wing back....
JAMES.... I really wanted him and think Bielsa will turn him into a very good player....
ROBERTS.... I think you already know my feelings on him.
BAMFORD.... still can't believe we don't have back up/competition for him....we're not Citeh where we can play other players as a central striker! It's so obvious and I've said for years we need competition for a striker as they WILL get injured, suspended or simply be out of form....
Add Sven Botman as a left sided CB, Rodrigo De Paul as playmaker and Cabral as striker and these will improve our starting X1 and we'd be challenging for Europe.... they're all affordable as well.
The following will only work if Llorente and Koch stay injury free.... Hopefully Drameh will come through and be better than Ayling, who has done brilliantly but reached his peak in standard and Dallas who'd be a GREAT squadman....

I 100,000% agree with Soopa
Can you add a few additional notes to that fiver Soopa? now that ive increased my percentage approval
a fiver for 100%
so 100,000% = £5x1000
Cheers buddy😜
Your fiver is in the post 😎
Soopa speaks the truth.
100% agree with your assertions

Agree, but we're also not playing the free, fast flowing attacking football of last year with another holding midfielder.... tough balance
I think Phillips and the team are better with another centre mid beside him. Teams are't waltzing through us with more in midfield.

Give us time TC
We have only been in the Prem for a bit over 1 year and players like you suggest will want £100k+ per week.
We have moved up from shopping at Lidls and Aldi to now shopping at Sainsburys. Another year or so and we may be able to go to Harrods.
