.... maybe a bit tongue in cheek but out of the 17 games before the World Cup break begins, we will have played only 5 good teams.
Yeah, I know EVERY game in the Prem is tough but we have to beat teams like Soton, when we're 2 up, Everton at home and be able to get a point at teams like Brighton....
We'll have only played Chelscum (to totally contradict my post🙈), Arsenal, Liverpool, Spuds and Mancscum. That means we must have a very tough run in and that's without going on an inevitable bad run of 6/7 games....
We're fkn doomed if we don't get players in before tomorrow and don't learn our lesson from last season of nearly dropping to the Championship on the last day.... we haven't spent any money yet with our 2 major outgoings covering the incoming signings (apart from the wages!) 🙈
Marsch, Radz and the 69ers out....HODDLE IN 🙈🤔😉😲
Just looking for my tin hat....
Looking at the games we have left can’t see more than 14points is that enough?
Been waiting for that one performance that tells us the corner has been turned.
We'll be in the bottom 3 come 5pm next Saturday in all likelihood.
Michael & Gove Albion not a team we usually get much out of.
The defence is looking secure (ish)
Tyler and to a lesser degree Weston look solid (ish) if unthreatening.
The front 4 is the problem.
Harrison needs dropping
Arronson needs some spite.
Willy Jimmy George just need a goal to get a confident run started.
As below we need to be sitting favourably be end of April or ifs curtains ... and the ensuing fire sale.
When is rodders back?
More importantly when is Dallas back, the man is infectious.
Mot...but do it soon please
13 games to go.
9 (NINE) teams separated by 6 points. This is going to be a relegation fight like no other. None of those 9 teams is safe, none of those 9 teams is definitely down.
Leeds have been down this road before, as have Everton. If we can stay in touch with this group over the next 6 games then hope springs eternal.
4 at home, 2 away and 3 of the teams around us:-
Home vs Brighton, Forest, Palace, Liverpool
Away vs Wolves, Arsenal
At least Everton got spanked by Arsenal and Scousers beat Wolves.
We need to do our job on Saturday and get 3 points v Chelsea.
If we do get relegated (😲) does anyone know how this will affect our takeover?
Surely the 69ers won't want a team in the Championship?
Would Radz still sell us? He'd obviously get far less for us not being in the Prem....
This would literally cost us 10s of millions and probably more.
Nice positive post now that Wemberlee has vanished with only a relegation scrap to look forward to! 🤬
Knowing that BB and Soopa were egg chasers does explain some of their posts after the hard hits.... 🤔😜🙈
TC - I understand your comments. Played rugby union for 30 years unpaid other than "expenses" and it is only now the repercussions are becoming evident.
Even when I suffered a bad hit I was always told to get up and show no pain. Dont get why some footballers feign pain like Bruno at Manure!!!
Would I change my life? HELL NO!!! They were the best years!!!
Nothing wrong with Strukij and it was a shot, albeit a hard shot, that hit him in the head....
They just have to be more careful now because unfortunately one bloke died or nearly died from it.... that's not in the least meant to take anything away from the poor bloke.
What happens in boxing every 10 seconds when they get hit on the head with a punch?
What happens in rugby when they get tackled every minute and in the scrums etc?
What happens in MMA cage fighting!? You can carry on punching and kicking a bloke in the head whilst you have him pinned down.... fkn brutal and can't believe that's 'sport'!
If fkn namby pamby footballers didn't go down feigning injury, and then by some miracle being fine 20 seconds later, we wouldn't have this scenario in the first place....
I
Wobber dislocated his shoulder, will be out for weeks ..
I have written off this season. Just want to see good perfomances and players proud to wear the Famous White Shirt
Although Saturday (and the weekend generally) was terrible, I think the doom and gloom has set in a little prematurely.
I'm not particularly optimistic about our chances of survival but it's very tight at the bottom still; nearly half the table are still in the relegation mix and there are a few within 'easy' reach. For example, if Everton and Bournemouth draw and we win in the next set of fixtures, we're immediately out of the dreaded zone.
I know that seems like a big 'if', given what we saw on Saturday, but we mustn't forget how encouraged we were by the performances against Scum. Nor that fans of some of the other teams involved are no doubt also wondering where their next point is coming from, so we shouldn't be assuming that they're necessarily going to fare better - or even as well - in their remaining fixtures.
Chin up - all is not (yet) lost!
We will have to sell a few players - Meslier, Koch, Harrison, Gnonto, Adams, Rodrigo = about £150million
Wont get McKennie
Llorente and Costa will be gone too when their loans are made permanent.
Am sure the others will stay out of loyalty or because no other club wants them.
Still it will give a chance to Bate, Poveda, Joffy, Charlie, Gyabi, Greenwood, Perkins, Jospeh, Hjelde, Monteiro and others to step up and make a clian for a starting spot
This is how i see it Bull:
Saints at ER - 3 points
Chelski away - 1 point
Seagulls at ER - 1 point
Wolves away - 3 points
Arsenal Away - 0 points
Palace at ER - 3 points
Liverpool at ER - 1 point
Fulham Away - 1 point
Foxes at ER - 1 point
Boringmouth away - 3 points
City away - 0 points
Barcodes at ER - 1 point
West Ham away - 1 point
Spurs at home - 3 points
22 points there + 19 points now = 41 points which may not be good enough this year
If we cant take a point off a pliss poor Everton side where will we get a point???
Saints at ER MUST WIN
Chelski away 0
Seagulls at ER MUST WIN but lucky to get a point
Wolves away MUST WIN
Arsenal Away 0
Palace at ER again lucky to get a point
Liverpool at ER 0
Fulham Away 0
Foxes at ER MUST WIN
Boringmouth away MUST WIN
City away 0
Barcodes at ER 0
West Ham away point at best
Spurs at home "if they need to win to get into top 4" then 0
Thats 16 points at best onto 19 total 35 = Relegation.
Barring some sort of miracle we cant stay up imho
I have given up hope and will just enjoy or next 15 games before championship football beckons
Are we allowed to say we are in a relegation battle yet or is it still too early to say, should we still be sticking our heads in the sand.
If we can pick one small nugget out of a carcrash of a Saturday....
Casimiro and Eriksen will miss both games v Leeds - Eriksen injured, Casemiro sent off today
I'm sure Bielsa won't go to Everton as it'd take too long to get his training regime and match day methods in place.... there's more chance of Lord Frostynips getting a correct weather forecast
However many chances they'll create, the massively overrated Calvert Lewin, will miss every one of them.... at least Bamford scored one in 10 chances!
They also won't be able to fkn defend....
This has Dyche written all over it trying to be hard to beat nicking 0-0 draws....
Bielsa possible for Everton. Would probably love to show lampard how it's done.
The end of Lumpturd is nigh......
Wonder who gets the hot seat there and what kind of job they can do with the sow's ear they have to work with?
It’s Southampton, Bournemouth and one other…
Everyone is strengthening at the bottom. It is so tight. Just Foxes and Everton being quiet for now + Spammers.
Still 2 weeks left so that could change.
Who has done the best business as that will decide.
Saints will take great heart from getting those 3 points at Everton, as will Forest.
Next weekend has plenty of 6 pointers going
Forest/Boringmouth
Saints/Villa
Everton / Wet Spam
Wolves have City & Leicester have high flying Brighton
and we have Brentford (and that aint a pushover considering they have 13 points from 15)
So potentially we could be in the bottom three next weekend depending on results elsewhere
Just watched Brentford v Bournemouth. Think it would take a miracle for the latter to avoid relegation even though there's a long way to go. They were truly dreadful, completely lacking the spirit which at least we seem to have in bundles. Mind you, MB has been linked with them...
But I can't see much difference at the moment between the rest of the candidates for the drop.
I think we'll be lucky again that teams such as Soton, Forest, Bournemouth, Wolves, West Ham, Everton and Leicester etc are in and around relegation as well....
We have conceded 31 goals in our last 15 games... that's an average of 2 a game.
We therefore need to score 3, yes THREE, goals a game to have any chance of winning....
It's not fkn rocket science that we either have to sort out OUR crap DEFENCE.... or sign Haaland and Mbappe up front.
It's so fkn obvious and our management and owners can't seem to see it....
Perhaps no need to start panicking as such, but still we're in some trouble.
The tendency to shoot ourselves in the foot is an ever present this season.
We just need to look at how we lose games we should be winning, never mind drawing. We always look like conceding, it just doesn't matter against who we're up against.
My biggest concern is that for us to win or draw, a lot of things need to go our way. It's not enough to play well, or to even outperform the opponent.
We need every single departement of our side to be on top of it's game.
How long has it been since we've won or even drawn a game we should have lost?
So yep, I'm worried, but then again I always am when it concerns LUFC.
I still don't think we should panic just yet.
Everton - clearly in disarray and have no finance
Bournemouth - lost every game since O'Neill was appointed permanently, also low funds
Forest - distracted by the cup and still don't know their best XI
Southampton - really lightweight and lost every PL game under Jones
West Ham - ageing squad, no notable incomings yet
Leicester - absolutely no cash and all their stars are out of contract/injured/retiring
Only Wolves and us look like we're investing big time to improve.
I wish we had played Forest when we should have done, they look a far tricky proposition now than they did then. Same for scum too. If we get relegated we can blame the death of the queen.
Our next three PL games will define our season im thinking
Villa friday night (A)
Brentwood (H)
Forrest (A)
Take 7 points from that 9 and we can then look to the likes of the manure & chelsea with some degree of hope.
Take 1-2 points from the next block of 3 games and we are right in the middle of a bloody dogfight that will last all the way to May.
Beat Villa who will be seething from their cup upset and win our game in hand (forest) we put another team below us in the table.
Tough ask to win 3 in a row especially with the squad we have compared to others in the division but if we are to manage 3 in a row this season what better time.
Only distraction is the 3rd round replay which lets face it we shouldn't be playing it, Cardiff were shocking but that just goes to show how bad we were last Sunday and some blame must be laid at Jesse's door in how he prepared the team and blame the players too as to how poor their mental attitude was going onto the pitch.
Jesse said that if Sundays game was a league game he wouldn't be picking a different team, well if we start on Friday night with that 11 we are fcked. Harrison has to Start simple as, even though i would like it if sinisterra could play too. Say what you like but we need Coops in our backline otherwise we have zero organisation. I hope Cry can also start but will he be fully fit especially after the treatment he took against Cardiff??
Its alright to say one game at a time but i think we need to concentrate on this block of fixtures and take as many points as we can otherwise will confidence in the squad drop as we drop down the table and fans become more and more vocal as to the standard of football they are delivering??
7 is the magic number lads
Keep the faith
At least we won't be linked with Cunha or Gakpo any longer, but plenty of other names left😉.
Think our hand has been pushed and we HAVE to sign players in the January transfer window whether they will be inflated or not!
We're 3pts off BOTTOM spot and we've somehow got to hope Mancscum and Chelscum beat Bournemouth and Forest tomorrow.... that's before we play Citeh and in form Newcastle!!
Strap yourselves in for another rollercoaster....
I think it's a bit of a free hit over the next 3 games - if we collect 2 or 3 points against Spuds/City/Newcastle that would be a good return.
FFS I was only joking when I started this thread!
Luckily enough there are at least 3 sides worse than us to save us from relegation.... however, I said this last year and it went to the last game!
Forest, Wolves, Soton are crap....
Bournemouth, Fulham and Brentwood will be dragged down yet....
Palace, Leicester, Villa and Everton are on a par with us....
That leaves us battling for a European spot!! 🙈🤔😜
We need to beat Foxes tomorrow!!!
⚽
Squeeky bum time!
another thread sinking in gummies crap
.
.
If even the spammers abandon us you know it's terminal for us.
Need a win on Sunday, just to keep believing!
Bump
I think predicting how this season will go at the minute is just guesswork. I'm not confident we won't go down as I wasn't last season. Bit of a rubbish transfer window. We needed a lb and a striker and have neither with hours to go.
I like struyk but he isn't a lb, he doesn't overlap with Harrison like alioski did. I wish we still had the mad North Macedonian.
I am worried as our run in at end of season is not kind. We need points now. Need a Striker and LB this window
The record does show
Wolves - won - 19th in the table
Saints - Draw - 7th in the table
Chelscum- won - 8th in the table
Brighton - Lost - 4th in the table
and last night
Everton - drew - 15th in the table
So TC10 better make sure that tin hat of yours is thick enough
on the face of things those results aint bad at all
Seriously tho i don't see us in the same position as last season, despite the player ins / outs.
Jesse to give him some credit will change if things aren't working out on plan A, we really couldn't say that under Marcelo.
Our midfield is better this season, more legs, and better at breaking up play than last season,
Yes we are open at the back but i think when Coops makes it back we will see a more composed better organised defense.
Sky had up on some stat that in the history of the PL any team that had 8 points from their first 5 games had a 96% survival chance. WE HAVE those 8 points
I agree we must take into consideration the sides that we have won those points from but im more concerned that 36-38 points may not be enough this season especially when the "smaller" PL Clubs can rest more of their players during the WC and will target the December & Jan games with real gusto.
#leavejessealone
You're right TC10. I look back with affection to the good old days
#Ridsdale in
Its a wonder you didnt finish with
