Hopefully paddy is fit for the playoffs bc we are poor without him.
We need to go back to the winning team from around Xmas & January, our midfield looked non existent tonight time to get Kamara back in there, when he plays well he pops up everywhere & links the play up
I'd pick something like this
Messlier/Darlow
Gray Rodon Ampadu Firpo
Kamara Gruev
Gnonto Rutter Summerville
Paddy
I would give Darlow,Anthony,Gelhard,Joseph & Coops/Cresswell starts v Southampton to get some minutes in their legs and see if Darlow looks a better option in goals,Messlier can't handle the pressure.
We are limping into the playoffs & have a terrible record in them so I'm not getting my hopes up.
I've managed to get a ticket for the away game. I hope it's roughly the same outcome as the league game there!.
So the first legs are played on the same day, Sunday 12th, but then the return fixtures are spread over 2 days, Thurs 16th ( Us and Norwich), Friday 17th (Saints, WBA)?? I'm sure there is a logical explanation, but why not play both on Saturday 18th?. Oh I forgot, it's not the EFL's policy to take any notice of travel difficulties for fans!
Obviously this is Farke’s biggest test so far. To make his players believe in him, and to make them perform as they did two months ago. If he manages, he’s a very, very good and extremely talented manager. MOT
MASSIVE lack of confidence going into the playoffs at the wrong time.... yeah, we'd have ALL probably taken this if offered at the start of the season but we look so poor.
We KNOW Farke will play exactly the same team and same fkn rigid 4-2-3-1 formation which is how other teams know we're going to play!
What is it with all our recent managers? Even Bielsa stuck to the same formation!
How can laymen like me can see that this isn't the way forward.... have a fkn Plan B AND C!
A good manager would bite the bullet and admit that the formation and style of play isn't working and have the balls to change it....
If we don't go up then the majority of the squad will leave and we'll have to start again.... no doubt buying or loaning players in the last couple of days of the transfer window. Get them in fkn early to get them playing to a system and not make the same mistake as at the start of this season.... and others!!
It'll never fkn happen though and Leeds United as a club will be fukked if we don't buy big and well for next season....
It the time of year where the players need to stand up. Much like last season and the season before Bamford has gone missing once more. Apparently he has bruised his knee (not a joke - bone bruise maybe is my guess) and it means he may not be available.
If Dan James plays it would be extremely surprising as he has a oblique tear. Just moving would be painful.
That loan right back is injured but might be available.
Basically the same team to start most likely.
We will know on Saturday if this is relevant
Team for play offs???
Not required
I hope Dan James is back. He gives his all every time and isn't a whiny little sod.
He won't make any changes away from the players that have got us this far. Also if we are losing He won't make changes until it is too late.
I can't say I am too hopeful
I would probably change the formation. Pains me to say, especially after all the grief I've given him, but the team somehow doesn't function without Bambi in it, however even though he believes he is, he is not an out and out goal scorer, but does have the ability to hold the ball and bring others into play, therefore to accommodate this, my team formation would be:
Meslier
Gray Ampadu Rodon Firpo
Kamara
James Gnonto
Bamford
Summerville Rutter
Team looks right, EEL 👍. Or, this is what we have, right now.
It’s all too late, but man I wish we had trained cornerkicks, freekicks and shooting from distance.
I only remember Piroe (of all!) making one goal with a long range effort, all season. Hardly any goals from midfield (our wingers have been good).
Do we have a goalkeeper trainer, and if so, where is his focus?
