The Mighty Whites v Southampton Unofficial MDT
After a deserved victory over wolves at home last week, Mac is back for his 4th consecutive MDT as 'The Mighty Whites' travel down to Southampton to take on 'The Saints'.
I didn't see the Wolves game myself, as I had to work, however from what I've seen of the highlights, we looked pretty good in the main and there's definitely plenty there to work with...In particular, Aaronson looks a right menace and a defenders nightmare, shame he wasn't accredited with his first premier league goal on his debut, a bit mean not awarding him it I think!
Warning!
For those travelling to the game, watch out for reported severe rail disruptions due to strike action, you may well be better off jumping in the car and appointing a driver instead!
Weather, for those who manage to get there is forecast to be 30 degrees at 3pm kick off time, so put your summer frock's on guys and get them shirts off and twirling around your heads....Especially the girls!!😁
I feel a bit of a fraud forecasting the weather as I am not 'Lord Snoddy' - our official Weatherman! Hope you don't mind m8?
Southampton is not a sh1thole!....It's quite nice really and Southampton FC is a nice 'little club' with average home attendance last year, just below 30,000.
With no real bad history between our club's 'The Saints' are another rather nondescript, insignificant and unimportant outfit, unlike 'The Mighty Leeds United', who are 'The Greatest Football Club in The World'!!
Southampton is famous for fish fingers!
No it is....honestly! Old Captain birdseye himself - Clarence Birdseye, began manufacturing them there, before rolling the delicacy out to the rest of the Country!
I once had fish fingers with a Southampton bird sat on the prom!....Ahem!....But that's enough of that for now then!!!😜
Other famous people from Southampton include Craig David, Laura Carmichael, Benny hill and of course Douglas Bader, the famous forteen betestecled WW11 fighter pilot, whom it is rumoured may also have had more than one penis, after he was heard telling his mates down the boozer, as he walked away from them, "I'm going for a pish out of one of my d1cks"!
Onto the game then and Southampton got stuffed 4-1 last week away at Spuds and currently sit bottom of The Premier League, while The Mighty Whites' currently enjoy 'Joint Top of The League' status, sitting above Chelscum, 'The Bin Dippers', 'Manscum' and the dirty Villain barstewards, whom I now absolutely fookin' hate!....Long may it continue!
Having drawn 1 a piece last time out at ER, I reckon we will smash these lot on Saturday and I am going for the same 3-1 scoreline as I predicted last week, with the same predicted scorers, Bamford, Aaronson and Rodrigo as last week too.
If Bamford had burried his header late on, my score prediction and scorers would have been 100% correct....But then again, if my auntie had a c*ck, she would be my Uncle wouldn't she?!!
RMS Titanic sailed from Southampton in 1912 and 'The Saints' will be on another sinking ship on Saturday, at the hands (feet) of 'The Mighty Leeds.
Cummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn U Mighty fookin' Whites🔥⚽️🏆
Come on Mac!! I am eagerly awaiting your MDT for Chelsea!
Well Don Soopa!
Apologies I was away an could not access site.
Not happy I could not find an illegal live stream as I always do for game not on Sky, BT or Amazon.
Hesgoal has gone this year!!!!
Nice one MAC (eventhough im in the "we threw 2 points away" camp)
JM said in his pre-match interview that they staff / coaches and players all discussed the "high temperatures" and that the heat could be a factor in the result. Well sorry but if this was discussed was Jesse not listening???
Maybe its too much of a simplistic view to take but why did it take us 84 mins to make our first substitutions? (bamford injury apart) ????
Klich & Foreshaw should have come on with 20mins to go as i thought we were being to run out of steam under the searing heat of the sun. Where were the GPS men? why were they not telling JM that some of the players performance data were dropping?
Overall would i have taken 4 points from the opening 2 games 100% i would have but when we get into 2 goal lead against lets face it a mid-table (bottom half team) we just gotta hold onto those points.
We turn our attention to Chelscum now and i really hope our players will recover quickly and try to build on our decent start and that lessons have been learned on and in particular off the field after Saturdays draw.
bump
First note for the Chelsea game - no Tommy Tickle in the dugout for them!
Him and Conte both just saw red - tasty affair!
That pass over Harrison is our new Achilles heal the players all move towards the ball leaving an opponent free at the back look at last season’s end games and the preseason
It was just a great pass and sometimes players do switch off as Harrison did.... for our goal they kicked it to Harrison and the no45 for them didn't even attempt to close him down or block the cross....
Even in hindsight NOBODY knows how to stop goals in the whole history of football.... it's why we love the game!
If we knew how to stop them, in theory every game would end up 0-0!
I appreciate he was only on the pitch for 5 mins but Sinisterra looks like a player. Nice touch, used the ball well and can’t half jump / looks good in the air. Looking forward to seeing him in full flow
The morning after - a chance to see the highlights and digest....
Agree with you Dan about Roca and Harrison for the goals. JM tried to change formation but Harrison lost his man for the second. Roca was tired - still not fit for a full 90.
Lots of quite negative sentiment on social media about the game yesterday, but you have to give as much praise to the team that got us 2-0 up away from home.....
This team is very young, lacking experience together, and should get better as the season goes along. I'm very happy with 4 points from these 2 games - it suggests we'll be competitive in the league even if dreams of top half have to wait.
It was a tad annoying to throw away 2 points in this game especially when the goals steamed from players inability to maintain positional mandates. While other may not see it this way I am convinced that by have both or at the very least one of our double pivots being position both goal would not have happened.
Goal number one saw Roca slide over towards the right had side leaving the left free. The man he was next to before the slide is the man who scores. Goal number two Adams forces the player to turn away from his support but because Roca chooses to be neither press or drop into the left cdm position a window of 20 square feets is left open for a pass. Also felt Harrison and Meslier positioning was also alittle off.
The two goals by us was good to see but there was a couple of time we needed to do more with the space we were given. Bamford was hesitant in his movement and it made sense when you hear he was struggling leading into the march. Does anyone know if Gelthardt is injured? We need a explanation why he was not on the bench.
In the post match Jesse basically said with out using the words he made a error today with his subs timing.
Is it true that Mo Camera is going to the French league?
Disappointing to blow a 2 goal lead
JM should have introduced fresh legs 15 or 20 mins earlier,it was obvious a few of our players were looking leggy.
4 points from 2 games is still a decent start to the season, better than Ten Hag at manure 😅
*spoiler alert*
Stick the Brentford game on the telly while you eat your tea 😂
Thought we defended pretty solidly until they scored, then got a bit panicky. Fair result as they could have gone on to win it, though felt we were better team overall.
Long way to travel down there and that must take its own toll, quite apart from the heat. Losing Paddy also a blow, though thought James did ok.
Aaronson is some athlete and looking a good buy. Notable mentions also for Jack and Rodders. Thought Adams and Roca were also fairly tidy.
Disappointing after being two up but could have lost, so overall will take the point.
You've got us a point Mac and 4 from the first 2 games is good, but I can't help feeling we're brittle still.
Smoking too much 🤔
Smokin smokin!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Gettttiiinnnnnnnnnnnn Rodrigo is smokin🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely shocking with our passing......
Bamford injured.....
Roca is all over the shop. Needs to sit deeper and just play the ball...
Adams is closing down every where but then sloppy passes his hard work away.
A case of Crap and Crapper.
Bamford injured - who'd have thunk it?
No Gelhardt on the bench even..... no sign of an injury so a bit of a mystery right now
