Well what can I say here we go here we go here we go
Daniel, you are correct about Coops for the 4th goal especially. He came very high up the pitch but they played round him. What I don't expect though is Coops to literally walk then go into a VERY slow amble to get back. He should be running at full speed to help his teammates out after leaving a hole. If he'd have even run at half pace he'd have got back and been able to block the cut back.... very poor defending and effort was needed and not skill to do that!
I still won't tell one of our brilliant servants to fk off though....
Rodrigo and Summerville have now both scored in each of the last three games. We aren't short of goalscorers at the minute.
even better than that Smurf - it's 4 from 4 for Jimmy and 5 from 4 for Rodders.
Patrick's got a bit of a problem now....
well sorry lads evidently my brown envelope was not as big the spurs one offered to the ref
It was a good old run regardless - getting past Liverpool at Anfield and the drama of Bournemouth....
Problem is who wants to start the next run when our next game is Citeh (without Adams)
With an other ref in charge their first goal would not have stood and in general he was far more lenient towards Spurs.
Some things never change😏
good performance by the lads, defense looked shaky as usual.
How VAR allowed spuds 1st goal to stand is a joke,Lenlet pushed Meslier and wasn't even looking at the ball.
strange decision by Marsh to take Roca off for Ayling after we scored,I thought if we went to 5 at the back we should've taken Aaronson off or another attacker.
no shame in the performance,we matched a top 4 team away from home.
Tyler's first booking was a joke, minimal contact with the spuds diver.
Rodrigo took his goals really well,Cry took his goal well and looked dangerous.Adams and Aaronson were full of energy.
I like Strujic but the system JM plays really needs attacking full backs and PS doesn't have that in his locker,we must sign a LB in January and put PS into CB .. for the record Strujic has been great defensively at left back and it's not a dig at him that he's not taking on players ripping up the wing,he is a center back ..
Yep he should have put on the young x city lad
People know i am not Roca' greatest fan but today he did not deserve to be subbed. Aaronson was clearly lagging and Rodrigo was also gased. Both should have come off before Roca.
Struijk is doing his best at left back but it is not his best position... overlapping football is not his natural thing bjt he still produces 7 out of 10 performances every week. He is close to our most consistent performing player.
Yes Daniel, it was obvious that Aaronson was knackered and Rodrigo too began to run out of steam. Think that with both Adams & Roca on a yellow, JM decided to replace the latter.
Unlike last week when the substitutions turned the game, yesterday none of them worked. Gnonto wasn't perhaps all that influential but the Spurs players were still worried about him. Greenwood didn't have a stinker but in truth added very little. Ayling's role in the back 5 just gave Spurs more room & time to build in the midfield.
To me it stood that their nr 21 was causing us all sorts of problems, either cut of his supply or put on someone to help out Pascal (pity Hjelde was not on the bench). Kristensen was coping well on the right, so there was no real need to put Ayling next to him. Having Ayling in the back 5 just gave Spurs more room & time to build in de midfield and out wide.
unlucky Mouseman. Another belter, but it was always going to be a tough ask to win down there.
WC break - chance to regroup and then back to the madhouse after Xmas.
Marsh, your team just scored. You think that playing 5 at the back all of sudden with 13 minute to go was the best decision when you had clearly 2 players in Aaronson and Rodrigo both showing fatigue?
Cooper, excellent defending for Spurs second goal. Perfect display of under 4's defending. Oh on their 3rd goal you provided a exquisite headed assist to the only unmarked Spurs player. That real talent that. Oh, on the fourth you seem to be M.i.A. oh wait you were 40 yards away from where you should be leaving Koch to try and sprint and cover for you. Superb leadership.
Summerville looked dangerous every time he got ball with 1 metre of space i front. Good game by the kid.
Thanks Steve, that explains it & makes sense.
Anyway, water under the bridge...
Agreed Daniel. You are entitled to have a view on those players as far as their first team presence is concerned.
I do think that this is the twilight for both as regulars - but as you rightly say they are both great guys who have represented us with distinction.
Don't believe Cooper deserved to be singled out for the goals.
The whole team switched off for their second goal.
From a quick throw in, they find Kulusevski free in the box, Coops flies across gets beat and there's nobody from Leeds anywhere near the goalscorer. So for that goal you can point the finger at PS, Aaronson, Coops & Greenwood.
For the third goal, you've got 3 CB's marking 2 Spurs players, Coops wins the header, but could/should have headed the ball further away from danger. But once again there is no Leeds player in 10-12 yards to challenge the Spurs player.
Last goal, Kane plays a simple give & go, with Coops in no man's land but then there are still 2 CB's behind to give cover.
What else are they therefore?
As for the second goal, when Coops dived in, this time Koch did made exactly the same mistake.
Think you will find a lot of goals are scored resulting from mistakes.
And it's always easy to just point the finger at one player, but for me most of the goals we conceded yesterday came about from poor defending as a team (defensive & midfield unit). Oh and have to admit Spurs took their chances pretty well.
Of course better players, will commit fewer mistakes and like I said before we've got a fair number of players prone to making mistakes.
Start L'il Willy. He'll worry Spuds silly!
good luck mouseman.
I'm going for 2-2 Aaronson & Paddy notching and Kane x2 for spuds ..
Lets make it three out of three for Rodrigo and Summerville.
Cheers Steve. Keep the run going!
I reckon we really will get something here
1-1 With us getting a late equaliser....
Quality MDT Mouseman and good luck for a prolonged run into the New Year!
I really fancy us this weekend and want us to steam into Kane from the first minute to worry him about the World Cup.... Son is already out and they won't score then.
4-0 to us with a brace for Summerville and Aaronson....
Be prepared for Chas n Dave songs before and at half time
