5 year deal signed, subject to work permit and international clearance which should not be a problem.
Fee just short of £25million (29million Euros). At least VO is starting earlier this year. Need new players in before preseason and the Oz tour not at the end of August!
Only 21 but with nearly 150 senior games behind him, the "Medford Messi” has also played 12 games in the CL.
2 footed, decent turn of pace, great engine, not afraid to put himself about, create chances, scores goals. Could he be an upgrade on Rafa?
I am sure he is ready for the Prem and look forward to seeing him in the Famous White Shirt.
not a shock, but a welcome start to the Summer window. Welcome Brenden
I have to admit I know nothing about him. Watched a YouTube video after the signing had been confirmed. As BB states, he looks to have good pace and a good engine on him. Looks like he is happy to assist steam mate rather than take a shot himself, there were a few clips that showed him in have a shooting chance but instead played somebody else in for an easier finish. I’m all for that kind of play.
if he’s here to play centrally it will give us some much needed pace in the middle with the ability to beat a man.
The clips I saw kind of reminded me of Rodrigo De Paul.
Ryan Kent next.
How good is it to get a signing in this early in the transfer window!?
With Newcastle and Villa going to spend big, plus obviously the big 6, it's already gonna be a battle getting in the top half.... great start Radz but he does owe us one after last season!
Hopefully he could be our new Pablo but with workrate added.... shouldn't hope for that much but he looks like the real deal. I remember watching him v Bayern earlier on this season and he absolutely ran the show for about 20mins in the first half....
Welcome Brenda....
Well we usually do one in two out ?
Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs Arsenal, Man Poo and Spammers will all spend big to improve their squads so will Villa, Barcodes and Everton. We have to accept we will not be buying £50million+ players. 11th next season would be an achievement
I can't believe Everton have anything left to spend BB - they'll be at "one in-one out" territory with their dodgy finances. Villa have already started....
Geat to see that we have finally completed a signing early. Now it is time to do some research on who and what type of player we are getting.
Welcome BA hope you have a long and illustrious career in the Famous White Shirt.
Know absolutely nothing other than what ive read in the media but on paper it does look like we have signed a decent player, now is he a PL player well time will reveal all on that score.
Definitely need cover up top along side Paddy and will need 2 up front players if the rumors that Bamford is going to Newcastle, also need a shot stopper in case anything happens young Mesilier. Also Bill wont last the full season so another signing will be needed there.
Overall i think we need 3-4 new signings over and above the number of players that may leave, i think we all accept that Rapha is going, Jack is being linked with a move (barcodes) as is Kalvin (city) if nobody else goes thats 7 new faces for the team to blend in and get to know the Jesse system.
Yes this signing was known for months now but i agree its nice to get it over the line now if the next deal is done as quick id be impressed.
Will we also now complete the clickbait rumoured midfield signing of who Beilsa wanted in January - Luka Ivanusec?
@Daniel2 Looks good on YouTube (don't they all?!) but perhaps a bit too similar to Aaronson?
I'm not so sure Raph will be leaving. The Barcelona deal looks like a busted flush. I think we should be aiming to retain Raph, Phillips and Harrison. We aren't under any pressure to sell. If we can add a powerhouse midfielder alongside the more seasoned u23s who made the breakthrough last season, then I'd be feeling good about this coming year.
Agreed Smurf.
It does look like the Barca deal is over "if" media reports can be believed, and for me i think Rapha might be just taking stock until the WC is over.
A mid table leeds in November (or higher) will almost certainly get him on the plane and possibly a starting jersey if his form and energy levels remain high.
Kalvin will be on the plane for England and again reading the gossip his extension of contract at leeds will be signed this / next week.
If Kalvin & Rapha both stay then the Board will deserve massive credit for stabilizing the squad and for me the other players (harrision, dallas, etc) that might be tempted away from ER will definitely think again.
If Jesse has brought a fresh voice to the dressing room and the players have bought into his philosophy of play then why would anyone leave now? The second year in the PL is always difficult and we overcame everything that was thrown at us including all the injuries to key men in the spine of our squad we still survived. I think it bolds well and if we can have a decent pre-season along with a few fresh faces in the dressing room we can be bullish about the future and about PL survival again next season
If anyone is offering 12th next May i'll take it now....
