Adams will be poached in 2 years - he's playing in a style and a role that's massively in demand. Teams like Scum, Liverpool, Arsenal would value his inclusion.
I wouldn‘t trust any reports unless they were rubber stamped by the club. Journalists and fans are pretty clueless when it comes to contract detail and financial arrangements. I would have expected there to have been at least an initial payment which would at least have covered the signing on fee.
I can't see any reference to this in the accounts, or indeed any sign of a provision. Doesn't mean it's not there - there's no detailed breakdowns by player
Of all of the signings we have done so far in this window (of which i know little about) Tyler Adams certainly has the credentials and for me looks to be our best signing. Maybe not a Kalvin upgrade but certainly an upgrade to Forshaw well on paper anyway.
I wont be looking too much at the pre-season results but more at the players (and manager) and what they offer on the pitch.
Our shape (dedicated by jesse) will be very interesting to see whats adopted and crucially will he / can he change if things aren't working out..
I know its still early in the TF window and other teams have plenty of time sign new players but for me i'm glad we aren't leaving things until the last minute.
With the exception of Forest & Saints, both have signed 4 players, we have 5 already coming next season it does look like
A) Clubs are biding their time,
B) Struggling to balance their books
or C) Just haven't got their house in order
If things stay like that (which i doubt) but "if" they do then I fancy us to be comfortably in mid-table maybe with a bit of luck just inside the top 10
There was much misplaced criticism of Orta and Radz last season but they have shown they can and will act decisively and quickly.
We can't expect every signing to be a superstar, but we have a better balanced squad now than we had last season for sure, and they have backed their manager how he wanted to be backed - just like they did for MB.
Im not critical of Radz or Orta at all, in fact i think only for them we could be languishing in the championship or worse. Yes you are right they backed Marcelo, it was Marcelo's decision to only utilize a small squad. It was Marcelo that requested his players and they tried to get that player. Unlike RA at Chelski buying a player he liked and then dumped him into the Chelski dressing room for the manager to "fit in".
Radz is a shrud business man and LUFC is a BUSINESS make no mistake about that but i do think Radz and co. "get" leeds and "get" the fans. We've never in my time on this earth demanded League titles, cups, Europe year on year, Most of us are very content with the team playing a decent "watchable" brand of football that entertains us and takes our minds off the Mon-Fri day job. We are a realistic lot (for the main part) and all we ask is the anyone putting on a Leeds jersey plays as best as he can and with a desire to do well and improve.
When i think back on some of our previous chairmen it almost brings me to tears to see how we the fans were just being ignored and treated with utter contempt by some. Bates / Ridsdale / Massimo / Nooruddin i mean ffs i wouldn't wish any of them go to Derby and that's saying something.
Our (recent) previous managers too under these chairmen were muppets and were either complete YES men or incompetent, i cant decide which but which ever one it is it does shine too well for some of them.
Paul Heckingbottom, Snake Monk, Steve "wheres my sombrero Evans, Redfearn, Darko, Hockaday even Brian McDermott was a bloody waste of space and NONE had the bottle to play football, hoof-ball more like.
Its very easy to play poker with somebody else money and same can be said about football fans and their owners wallet.
I wish Radz / Orta well ok they dont always get it right but jezz who does?
as the saying goes
A man that never made a mistake never made anything
He will add speed and mobility to our CM which we have lacked for years. Will compliment Roca in the double pivot and likes to carry the ball at pace forwards.
Experienced for a 23 year old. 59 games in the MLS, 75 games in the Bundesliga, 18 games in the CL + 30 caps for the USA.
A No6/No8 + can fill in at RB and RB too. Dont expect leg-breaking tackles a la Batty and KP as he prefers to use his reading of the game and speed to nick the ball from an opposing player.
Good range of passes but the go forward not sideways.
It is just a question of how quickly he can adapt to the demands of the PL but is probably more suited to JM's systems than KP.
Anyway, Daniel follows the German league far far more than me so he will know far far more about Adams.
This move can two ways. Adams has the tools to play in premier league but it is a matter of him being able to produce on a regular basis. He is not the type of player to shine outstandingly but more a try and get the job done player. When he showed his best it was when he played neat & simple. The problem lay in that occasionally he forgets this and try to hard causing his can to fall apart.
If he applies the KISS (keep it simple stupid) method to his game he do okay.
This is his chance to settle into that simple destroyer. Not by folding people in the tackle but pressuring through shadowing/jockeying the players into retreating and smartly intercepting those attempted through ball.
What formation will the club play. This also effect him greatly.
Tyler Adams is so good. Us getting 45 millions for Phillips and paying 25 million for Darko Gyabi and Tyler was simply very good business.
Been pretty class from what I have seen be hard to hold on to him seasons end
Great signing for just £20million!
.
bumpitty bump

This guy is total class!
Absolutely quality.... as long as he doesn't go to Mancscum! 🤬
Orta ain't so bad as folks would have you believe 😉
What a signing! Well done VO!
.
I like this lad a lot! Great engine, numerous tackles and breaks down quick transitions

Reports suggest first instalment of the £20million fee is not due until next year!
What great negotiating by VO
Or does that mean we have paid something for Augustin to Leipzig?
Great signing!
Not afraid to get stuck in is he and he sets the standard / aggression on the pitch which i think we all like
What a bargain! Quicker than KP and more of a nuisance. Short passing better as he goes forwards not sideways.
Sorry Kalvin, you may be forgotten soon
Welcome Tyler

Without knowing virtually anything about the newbies, I think Adams, Roca, Gyabi and Bate are already an upgrade on Kalvin, Forshaw, Koch and Bate!!
Tin hat time again....
