Sorry LUID, I have waited for you to start this by the RL season starts tomorrow!
So for lovers of the oval ball:
Leeds hooker Kruise Leeming has signed a three-year contract extension that will keep him at Headingley until at least the end of the 2024 season
New signings Zane Tetevano, King Vuniyayawa and Kyle Eastmond should feature tomorrow night.
Mikolaj Oledzki is the one to watch in 2021.
There is hope we can finish this year top 4.

The return of a London team BB you can see Leeds rugby
Leeds v Salford tonight live on Sky
Looking forward to seeing the new players: Brodie Croft, Andy Ackers (both Salford Red Devils), Mickael Goudemand (Catalans Dragons), Kieran Hudson (Castleford Tigers), Paul Momirovski (Sydney Roosters), Matt Frawley (Canberra Raiders), Lachie Miller (Newcastle Knights).
Season of Hope or despair?
Sam Walters is a big loss but Cameron Smith is still here.
Just sad to see RB. What a player. A reminder that life can change in an instant.
BB--I really enjoyed the game and more so as i had $20 on Leeds to win 13+------nice little sock drawer filler-🤗
Austin ran the show
So after a pathetic loss to Wakefield, Rhinos turned up to night and smashedHuddersfield to nil.
Austin, Sezer and Myler the stars
Justin Sangare - Prop (French) from Toulouse academy
Matt prior has retired - forward reinforcements needed
.
.
Castleford Tigers back Derrell Olpherts has joined Rhinos on a two-year contract; although mainly used as a winger in recent years, the 30-year-old can play at centre and full-back as well
.
.
Jack Walker signs for Bradford
.
Good start to the RLWC at the weekend - Samoa a decent team
⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽
I know little about rugby
another thread sinking in gummies crap
.
.
Bump
So Sutcliffe, Dwyer, Bodine all leaving along with Long. Any more?
Any news on incomings or is it the youngsters we want to bring on?
bump
That's me and Steve!
Spam diddly spam spam
Cannot wait for the GF!!!! No LUFC at the moment so this is all I have!
More great news for the Rhinos as the Women's team down the League Leaders York in the Women's Grand Final. 12- 4.
Under the cosh for lots of the game, but great defensive display - hope the men's side take note - the same will be needed from them next weekend.
Remember folks - in the 21st century the team who have won the title most at Old Trafford are the Leeds Rhinos.
Who would have thought indeed 😁
Looking like Saints in the Grand Final - they are beating Salford at the moment.
Again, we're underdogs but Saints won't fancy us.
8-20 win!!
We are in the Grand Finals. Who would have thought?
What the F did GH think keeping Agar? He is a 1970s dinosaur with up the jumper one man rugby sets.
2nd bottom before Smith comes in then what a ride.
I know Saints have t play Salford, but they will win that game and I dont fancy our chances against them. Still a far better season than I could have hoped for.
Not any more :-)
Tonight's Leeds fix live on SKY - be there or be square...
page 2 i see
Come on Rhinos! Get the win!!!!
So it is Wigan away next. Cannot see us winning
and so a band of English warriors went to France. They knew in battle they'd be up against the might of the French and they would have to fight their way past them on the road to glory.
Agincourt 1415
Catalans 10 - 20 Leeds Rhinos
nope - live on SKY
Guess this game is off too?
...but the women's game is York in the final next.... 😁
Feck! You are right Soopa!!
Got F'ing confused with the f'king women's game!!! Why cant they have their own sites and not latch on to the men's game?
Still Catalans devoured us a week or so ago, still think we have no chance.
I thought we were away at Catalans on Friday BB?
Saints next in the play offs. Cannot see a win here
Still a better season than I could have hoped for at the start
From 0-8 in the middle of the second half to win 14-8
At least one Leeds team won.
I share your decision BB
I'll be playing it on mute on TV while I listen to BBC Radio Leeds
2.30pm live on Sky! Do I watch or look for a stream for LUFC?
We wont get to the final so the game v Cas is really not important.
Just happy we did not have a relegation fight!!!
"Win and in" - last match of the regular season this weekend v Castleford, simple equation as far as playoff participation goes.
Doesn't bode well, even if we do scrape a playoff place.
Still, a step forward from Agar this season.
Disappointing 31-18 loss v Catalans today
Bump to push the spam down a bit
Good win for Rhinos tonight 18 - 14 v Huddersfield
Catalan in 4th will be looking over their shoulder.
Pity Dwyer leaves at the end of season to join Hull.
Huddersfield tomorrow at Headingley.
8.00pm KO but clashes with the Barnsley game.
Live on Sky so if I cannot find a stream may choose to watch and keep flicking to SSN for LUFC updates.
Is there another 5th place charge on the cards??
24-18 win for Rhinos v Wolves.
How the F..K did GH keep Agar in the job for so long when it was clear he only had one man up the jumper running as his style of play?
Up to 5th now!!
Sorry to see Harry Newman out for the season, still being 6th at this stage is great from where we were. Does clash with the U21 game though
bump
Bring on Wolves this Friday!
Matt Prior, Aidan Sezer and Rhyse Martin back from suspension
Bentley back after injury
Rhinos are still without skipper Kruise Leeming (foot), James Donaldson (knee), Harry Newman (hamstring), Bodene Thompson (ribs), Max Simpson (ankle) and David Fusitu’a (suspension).
Sacking a manager you put your faith in isn't easy......
great result again, but it's the performances and the young players coming of age that I love the most.
Good 34-14 win this weekend for Rhinos. We are, amazingly, now in the top 6!!!
What the F was Agar doing and why the F did GH not get rid in the summer?
The Rhino roars and charges!
There's some real hope we're finally getting it all together after the Agar period.
Rhinos 42 - 12 Wigan last night.
The best bit about a big win is Superleague is when it's build on a rock solid defence - then you know the players are pulling together.
definitely finding their feet under the new coach - I prefer the style of play too BB.
Young guns coming through, much better
Watched the game v Cas and we are totally different. 38-20 win. Not like my post in March below when we were absolutely F'ing clueless.
More invention this time.
Under Ager = shit all tries. Under Smith = loads of tries
Ball goes down the line out wide earlier, Lines of running are better. it is not all up the jumper stuff.
Why the F did GH put up with Agar for so long when he was clearly out of his depth?
May next year we can get close to the halcyon days of KS, Maguire, Burrows, Peacock et al?
And so the messiah comes to town. We hope
Leeds one point of the bottom, despite the proudest history, the best stadium, the most fans......
We sign a 40 year old Aussie Rohan Smith for his first foray into a Superleague hotseat, albeit from famous stock - nephew of Tony Smith no less!
Let's see how this pans out.
16-40 loss to Cas - things not looking good at the moment
Saw his interview on Sky with GH by his side. If he was that honourable he would have left at the end of last season to give the new coach time to work with the squad.
JJB is Rhinos, he has played under some great managers. Only time will tell if he can do the job but with Cas next then Saints, I cannot see a win coming.
All top clubs need top managers. Ones that immediately command respect, like MB.
GH needs to get his finger out. 5 losses in first 6 games with 2 more losses to come in ur next two?
Prophetic words on 7th Feb?
"I still believe the limiting factor will be Agar - whether he can find a method that gets the best out of these guys, whether he steps back and lets the big personalities rule or whether he carries on with safe mid table play."
We now know the answer - bad start to the season and we just can't perform with Agar and today he has left his post. Sweepstake time on the next head coach.
EDIT - no sweepstake required for now. Jamie Jones Buchanan steps into the role while Agar moves into an "unconfirmed" role at the club.
Probably cleaning the ladies loos..... 😒
There's some really promising players at Leeds - the new axis of Sezer and Austin is very powerful - the local lads like Walker, Newman, Gannon are all very exciting and we know the kicking qualities of Martin.
Add to that the experience of your Handleys, Myler, Dwyer, Leeming, Prior, Thompson etc etc and we should be doing better.
The Warrington loss was due to having 12 men, but we deserved to lose to the Pie Eaters and Catalans. Wakefield was a much better first 40 mins display, but you're right BB, they fell away badly at the end.
Good win by Rhinos on Thursday v Wakefield and an improvement in running lines + getting the ball out wide. We just tailed off second half.
Our first 15-20 has been good all season but then....
Too many penalties and mistakes.
Liked the look of Walker - back at close to his best.
Hope Newman's injury is not too serious but the young ones look great!
Dark Horses BB. I still believe the limiting factor will be Agar - whether he can find a method that gets the best out of these guys, whether he steps back and lets the big personalities rule or whether he carries on with safe mid table play.
New season is on us. I know Conrad has gone but he spent more time injured than playing.
This season Leeds have added half-backs Aidan Sezer and Blake Austin, Tonga international David Fusitu'a and former St Helens second row James Bentley.
Can we actually challenge?
I thought I'd get out of my smug chair and re-post what I said in March:
"With Agar I still think we'll be a nothing more than an occasional treat. We'll flatter on occasion but finish 5th"
It's all coming to pass. Wigan last night were utterly dreadful, and have been for the latter half of the season, which would explain the lack of interest from their fans. Having said that I would have expected more to turn up if only to say goodbye to so many leavers.
Superleague has been dwindling away for years. The result didn't even make the headlines on SKY sports news, who instead led with the Ryder Cup, the Women's cricket and then Celtic's game v Raith.
Leeds have done all they can from their regular season performances, and you can only beat what's in front of you, but they'll get well beaten in the semi, whoever they play.
Great win by Rhinos! Beating Wigan 0-8 and getting through to the semis.
Defence was superb in a brutal game.
Why was the Wigan crowd so poor? Less than 8k for such a game.
No onto Catalan or Saints
GH invest in this team and we may be more serious challengers next year!
Yup!! Maybe just papers over the cracks.
If we are to really challenge next season GH needs to get his cheque book out
Tonight a clear blue ray of light in all the mediocrity.
The pie eaters get nilled in their own stadium for the very first time in Superleague. Wigan 0-14 Leeds
hope springs eternal, we can scrape a top 6 place still.
And the challenges just keep coming. Australia and New Zealand now decided they can't come over for the World Cup. We now have a shambles of a domestic game who can point the finger and say "we told you so" whilst the opportunity for a new audience disappears.
You couldn't make it up!!
League being determined by win points percentage actually encourages clubs not to fulfil fixtures, get around the rules and avoid any points deduction.
Hull are 4th and Hull KR are 6th if they don't play again this season they could finish higher.
Agree Soopa, covid seems to have killed interest in the game and Sky will have noted that.
It will be challenging times
And so the sad and sorry descent of Rugby league into the netherworld continues.
A world cup staggering towards us with COVID everywhere - and a result we all already know of course - Australia win vs New Zealand (outside bet England) in the final.
A Superleague where some teams call off games because they haven't got a team, others do it because they would rather take a 24 point loss than risk injuries in a congested fixture list.
Even the paymasters of SKY are disowning them now - no adverts, no news headlines.....wait for the devastation of a reduced TV deal next time round.
Absolute farce.
My main grief is we will not have a real chance of winning the Finals. Saints, Wigan and Catalan look far better than us as do Warrington if they get it right.
Last night it looked liked we had some invention when spinning out wide instead of one man rugby just going through the middle.
Yes we were missing key players like Gale and Dwyer etc so if we can get these back then the invention is there.
My main gripe with GH is were were winners a few years ago and now we settle for mid table mediocrity.
We are in danger of climbing to 5th this season if we keep going like this!
Great win by Rhinos last night v Warrington. We dominated first half. Front row superb again and Prior fully deserved his MOM.
Now if we can just get some of our key players back!
I respect Sir Kev for moving on, but it is a shame. Sounds like a royal punch up last weekend - 6 players got suspensions for their actions!!
I now see Salford have a 2 game postponement for COVID too.....
Good win v Salford a couple of days ago. Maybe it just papers over the cracks? With Sinfield leaving at the end of the season I hope GH brings in a proper DOR with the vision to ensure we return to being a top 4 club.
Pity his contract starts next season + not really that big for a forward. Dont know much about him so bow down to Soopa's judgement
I must admit the signing of Bentley is a promising signature - grand final winner last season, Leeds fan and the right age. For once I approve of a signing....
Wigan have given up their first right to Williams. GH needs to have some balls and bring in top players instead of just relying on young guys coming through. We wont get another group like Sinfield, Burrows, Maguire, JJB, Bailey et al in the next decade or so. Need some superstars to stop us just being a side that survives and turn us into a side that challenges.
I know we have not played for a while but this is yet another season where the only aim is to stay in the Super League.
It would also help if he got rid of Agar and appointed someone who knew what he was doing.
I agree BB, but we all know Williams will end up back at Wigan - they have ambition and also his affection.
Amazing to see the same team that got bullied and beaten by Hull go on the shatter Cas like that! At least we now look lower mid table rather than 11th.
Get George Williams! Pay the fee and the wages. Sometimes you need superstars to rebuild. He is only 26. Its like when Peacock came in, the belief in the side just grew as they had a true leader and great player for others to look up to.
Rhinos should never be mid to bottom table fodder. We deserve better.
I know we have injuries but we seem to be clueless other than "pass it to the big man and let him run straight"
We do not seem to have that free flowing rugby of getting the ball out wide or running different lines to confuse the opposition. No real idea of what to do on set plays - surely there is someone there with some imagination that can provide the ideas?
At least we won the last game!
Agar has never been the right man and I have not seen any influence Long has had on our game.
Time for changes at the top!!!!
I almost feel guilty resurrecting this sorry thread a month further on but......
Since the last thoughts, we've managed to win only 2 out of 6 games, and both of those against bottom of the table Wakefield.
We've signed the exciting Kyle Eastmond, only for him to call it a day a month later (he'd rather retire than play for Leeds).
We've gone out of the challenge cup at the first stage.
Agar marches on. Dreadful times at Headingley
We are Leeds! 5th really not good enough. Youngsters doing well not really good enough. Agar not good enough!
Time for owners to bring in the right coach and players. We need to be real challengers.
Over the 80 mins we deserved to lose, albeit this was Wigan.
The performance was disciplined and gritty, lots of younger players did well.
I can see that with the better players back fit we can win more than we lose, so although we are W1 L2, I still think we'll be 5th.
Whether or not that's an acceptable ambition for Leeds? I'll let you decide.
With Agar it's as good as we'll get.
Not a good result last night. I get we have injuries but what has happened over these past few years? Surely we knew the glory boys were going to retire? No real plane to replace them. No leader to replace Peacock, no kicker for 2/3 years to replace King Kev - how many times did we lose games because we could not convert? Sorry but the owners are to blame.
4 match ban for our Zane. 😒
Out of the cup and Zane covers himself in glory.
Loss to Cas today. Cannot believe Agar is still the coach!
Yes great news about about Leeds Tykes. Now all that is needed is a mutli millionaire philanthropist that pumps many into the club and turns us into the the next Bristol/Exeter. #good news too that Rhinos won too on Saturday.
In brighter news I was massively heartened to see the Leeds Tykes have returned! Yorkshire Carnegie has been shelved, although we're back to West Park as a home ground and League 1 amateur rugby....
With Agar I still think we'll be a nothing more than an occasional treat. We'll flatter on occasion but finish 5th
