Assuming the obvious happens and we go down who do you want ?.
I don't particularly want BFSA as manager, that prospect doesn't inspire or excite me at all.
I would like Potter to come in but I doubt he would drop down a league.
I actually think it will be somebody we have heard of this time, not a punt.
Sounds like there will be no DOF.just hope the board give Farke time and back him.we should have never sacked Bielsa imo, even if he took us down 2 seasons ago.I like what Radz did for the club but the fact that we went from Bielsa to Fat Sam in under 18 months showed how badly the club was being run ..
So on the Daniel Farke appointment. Kind of like the appointment as I liked what he was just starting to develop at my German club prior to his removal given he had a few main stay or key players injured.
Think young players like Cresswell, Dremah, Joseph, Summerville, Gnonto, Gyabi, and Perkins could do very well under him. Actually think Greenwood could be a dark horse for most improved player if played just behind the striker in the Farke system.
Players like Wober, Sinisterra, Harrison and Adams would also fit nicely into his style. Believe or not but even Firpo could fit as he would act as pure wing back and his overlapping runs is perfect for the system.
My worry is that with our clubs tendency to not sideling good guys the squad dynamics maybe upset. In our first preseason game if Dremah is available and is not starting in front of Ayling then he will go. The same for Cresswell and Joseph as all 3 are in very high demand.
I will say it here and now. It will take until at least the 15th game of championship until we start see anything like Farke real style. 15 to 20 games it normally takes to bed in his ideas and depending on fitness levels it could be faster.
Well it's taken a lot longer than we wanted for the "news" to break, but now it's official all good for me.
If he's happy the club are aligned top to bottom then all we can do now is support him, be patient and let him do what needs to be done.
Good appointment for me.
I'm glad we got Farke and not Gerrard or Viera.out of all managers rumoured to be in the running Farke and Corberan would have been my 2 picks. He won the championship twice with Norwich on less of a budget than we should have but it's a big step up in pressure/expectations.its going to be a busy few weeks.have we announced DOF yet? ..
Farkes first interview
Lets hope it is not Farke off in 5 games time. Most other Championship clubs have had their full squad back for 10 days and have 5/6 preseason games planned.
We are 2 weeks behind them with only 3 preseason games announced.
Lots of outgoing too occur in the next 2/3 weeks - something like 10-14
I have looked at Norwich's 57 signings under Farke and 50+ were misses. So I hope Hammond improves the hit rate. However, Norwich were shopping in the corner shop, we could shop in M&S which makes a difference.
I just hope he is not like Uwe, promising heavy metal football but delivering poor classical music.
As MC said "managers are like watermelons..."
Morning Lord Snodds---evening to you----we can finally get going now with Farke and get rid of the dross that brought us down-promote the young talent we have and sign players WHO REALLY WANT TO WEAR THE SHIRT and boucey back to premier land---😉 PS--I am very happy with appointment
I'm happy with the choice, good luck to him.
He knows the league inside out but will have to do it with the added pressure of it being leeds.
About farking time ffs-🙄
Farke now announced. Going to be an interesting few weeks now
48hr later takeover completed; Farke sacked as not a Yank knowing our way of doing things 😝
Terms agreed; training to start Wed - all go even if take over isn't done 1st
Farke to be announced tomorrow; 04:07 (source Phil Hay)
I had 3 divorces that took less time than this FFS-FARKING GET ON WITH IT😠
Didn't want Farke at first but definitely coming round to him but some on here did.... maybe cause we're running out of options again!
The crap rumours though are that everything is going through and even transfers are happening behind the scenes and just awaiting official confirmation of new ownership.
He does know how to get a team out of the Championship with fast paced pressing football though.... just like his fellow German Uwe Rosler promised! 🙈🤔😲🤬
It looks like it is Farke. He has been given a tour of ER, TA and met the medical and fitness teams.
Cannot see why we are waiting for takeover to be confirmed before announcing. 49ers own 44% of LUFC and only need to get ARs agreement for the appointment. They do not have to wait for him to be gone.
For Farkes sake hurry up Leeds
Farke has to be the best choice for us--hes won it twice and knows the league and with a substantial war chest given to him we should bolt in-😎
Yes-i have been smoking-👀
Hope it's not Viera,he's bang average.Corberan or Farke for me,although it sounds like 69ers want to appoint an out of work manager so that rules out CC ..
2 new candidates thrown into the ring which could delay things.
Ted Lasso - who you know I all admire and Mickey Mouse - big in the US and would attract star names
Common sense says Farke, but the 49ers gave us Jesse, so anything can happen!
Could it be that Radz to 49ers, equals frying pan to fire?
Tomorrow win tell!
Various souces stating that Vierira will be appointed this Friday, remains to be seen!
In would just give the gig to Skubula, he's better than most names being bandied about.
I'd be very surprised if it wasn't Farke! He knows how to get out of the Championship and that's all we need.
Delia wouldn't splash the cash in the PL, so he couldn't do much there.
He'll be ok for us, providing the 49er's back him with the correct players to stay and new talent he points out to get.
Well the 49ers are in London for face to face interviews. Seems it is between Farke, Parker and Vierra but done rule out Ted Lasso who desparately wants the job.
My candidates in order:
Hoddle
Potter
Corberan/Gerrard
Corberan is the better coach but Gerrard would attract better players
There must be some one who wants to manager us FFS--😓
Darren Moore--------i would seriously shoot meself FFS
Surely not Darren Moore. We haven't sunk that low.
As below hopefully CC leaving WBA.
Interesting that Darren Moore has left Sheff Wed Could he be going to WBA and corberan is going to be sacked? If so without compensation to pay he could yet enter contention to be our next manager The plot thickens
It's beginning to look like I was being a bit hopeful with the thread title.
I think it is looking more and more like Farke to be next manager of Leeds
I doubt we were ever in for him after relegation
And there you go Iraola appointed as Bournemouth manager
Ted Lasso now being linked. Very successful American manager
Rumours are that Bournemouth are interested in Iraola
Gordon Bennett iraola mentioned again now how many more are going to linked Perhaps we will get Gordon Bennett.....
Clickbait sites say reporters are now saying "LUFC closing in on managerial appointment"
No **** Sherlock!!!
Please can I have a job where I write the obvious and pretend I am ITK?
Farke. Parker or corberan but prefer
Need to have new manager appointed early next week. We only have one preseason friendly lined up
Randon Question time.
What happened to our interest in Marcelo Gallardo?
This would be a statement signing for our club. Why, because he is a winner, he is young, he plays good football and most importantly he would be like the second coming of Beisla as he would demand respect from our squad due to playing history and winning history as a manager.
49ers, why have you not yet tried to get him?
The good news is that Stuart Webber is a Leeds fan anyway which should hopefully make him want to succeed even more.... it looks more and more nailed on that he will want to employ Farke again.
I had a look at the kind of football and system that Farke likes to play and this was my answer....
"He likes to play a 4-2-3-1 and is reliant on possession and width with quick transitions, gegenpressing and simultaneous verticality""
WTF DOES THAT MEAN YOU TWAAT!? 🤔🤬
What a load of fkn bollox and words made up just to make someone sound as if they know more about football than anyone else.... I know football needed to change with things moving on but!!?
I remember in my boy's last year of youth football and having to listen to opposition coaches shout at the top of their voices:
"transition, transition"
"bounce, bounce"
There's loads more similar to this to give themselves an erection....
Fkn embarrassing.... at least when Lord Sunnyflaps comes out with crap weather forecasts it's in a language we can understand.
Watch this space.
Stuart Webber is leaving Norwich
He recruited Farke at Norwich
Leeds linked with both....
So who is contacting candidates? AK, 49ers, both? Craig Dean?
Most will want to know:
Salary
Bonuses
Legnth of contract
Budget
Club Expectations
Which players have to leave
Which players can stay
Cant see AR being involved as he is clearly going and would not instill any faith.
I really would not mind Daniel Farke - high pressing, quick counters and knows the Championship
If Big Sam was appointed Director of Football he would basically be the faceless manager to his stooges, Robinson and Keane....
The football would be basically the same as the last 4 games as that is how he plays and would tell his coaching staff how to play....
Potter, Gerrard and McAllister (with Strachan somehow involved) or Corberan please....
A fkn BIG no thanks from me for Big Sam....
Sam has major contacts but has been accused of liking little or big brown envelopes.
He probably knows every main agent in the world
Not sure if 49ers or AR would completely trust him.
So big Sam had put his hat in the ring for director of football
that imo looks like his assistants this season and little Sam to be coaching staff
I'm pretty sure that Colin has only extended his contract with Huddersfield in the knowledge that we are back in the Championship and he loves to beat us!!
Since we have had random names thrown about i thought i add to the list. Nick Montgomery. Young manager who was once in the Leeds academy, then moved to Sheffield United before moving to Australia. The last 2 years he managed a club with budget less then Bamford season wage. His teams average age was 24.. His record is 59 games managed, 30 wins, 11 draws, 18 losses. 127 goals scored 81 conceded. He like the 4-4-2 formation.
Clickbait even tempting us with Scott Parker! WTF!
Did I read that Brendan Rodgers has lost a few dressing rooms before?
Don't know anything about Cyrille Regis....
Corberan obviously knows the club and done well in the Championship....
Potter is an excellent technical coach ahead of his time but Chelscum was just too soon for him. He'd be my no1 choice and I'm sure we'd thrive under him and get promoted first time round with the correct backing....
Well definitely not Sam. I would be happier if I had faith we would get anyone better. Surely whoever comes in though will play a better style of football so we will lose with more flair lol.
Clickbait sites saying we are willing to pay CC 2 million release clause,it always felt like he was being groomed to take over from MB so maybe a good appointment,he worked wonders at dog botherers & turned wba around ..
At least it wont be SA and turgid football next season.
Not sure about CC though. I'd take Nuno Espírito Santo. In over 400 games as manager, his win percentage is nigh on 50% with losses less than 25% but Al-Ittihad probably pay him far more money than we can afford so unless he wants to return to real football, we have no chance.
Carlos Corberan
Nuno esprito Santo please.
Strolled the championship with wolves.
Good job in premiership.
Wins 50% of games overall...
And managed to offload helder costa to some muppets for £16m over the odds.
Carlos at WBA 😎
Potter would be perfect. SA may have the toughness that might just have kept us up had he been appointed earlier, but as a long-term solution - thanks, but really, no thanks. Potter can do it for us, and he plays attractive football. Come on, Potter; you’re Leeds, and you know it! MOT
Strachan and McAllister.... 👏
.... with Hoddle as Director of Football 👍⚽
I would quite like to see Stevie G, with GM and RK put in charge.
Mark Schwazer has come out and said Leeds should try Kevin Muscut who is following in Ange Postecoglou foot steps and playing style in Japan. Personally not his biggest fan as a person but with the right assist it might work. Some say it could be Karl Robinson with Keane and little Sam as his assistants.
Some say it could be a big name young manager from South America but for me it matters not who rather how quickly.
FFS it's being reported that Big Sam is going to have job talks over the next few days about him staying as manager.... how far backwards can we go!?
Crawl back to Bielsa and offer him a contract for life in whichever role he wants, manager or dof/mayor of Leeds.
Not big Sam no matter what
Just praying it won't be Big Sam and he won't give a fk about his dinosaur system of play or our relegation when he's on the beach tomorrow after being handsomely paid by us....
He tried to stop us shipping goals as a priority and we played every defender and CB on our books in varying positions that they don't play and still conceded 11 in 4 games....
I've got a horrible image of Big Sam sweating in Marbella tomorrow in his Speedos, big gold necklace and rings whilst chewing gum and smoking cigars....
Sam is not the man.
No faith in youth.
Gnonto and Jimmy not starting when a win is needed?
We need a top, proven manager and let him influence which players we bring in, instead of a **** of a DOF in charge of the company cheque book!
Completely agree next manager is the least of our problems at the minute need sort out ownership ASAP like any business if you haven't it right at the top like leeds at the minute wasting our time be years again before we get back into the premiership sadly 🙈🙈🙈
Never mind the manager,we need a major overhaul of the playing staff....Even the best manager in world would have struggled to keep this lot up... 😆
Not Sam ..Please!!!
Looking at the actual state of the squad and the club: Who in their right mind would take this task?
Big Sam is the current favourite at 11/4. I hope he doesn't get it.
My new requirements for a manager. He must wear number 17 on his shirts, sit on a bucket at every game. The bucket must be purple and he is not allowed to our players touch ball. Oh and must be seen as a "good guy".
This means Cooper is the new manager. Assistant manager Ayling. Head of scouting is Dallas. Attacking coach is Bamford and Forshaw is head of fitness... 🤣
The guy at wolves is on his way out
Great contribution Faith, you've nailed the managerial quandary.
As far as style and color are concerned, the Mexican gown is a piece of its own. They are easy to make, widely available in stores and eliminate the monotony that characterizes contemporary weddings. Her unique style will wow everyone in attendance with elopement wedding dresses and create wonderful memories for years to come. The world is a global village. Different cultures have great ideas about marriage. Wedding days are very special and require the input of creative planners. The role of a wedding dress is to give beauty to the wearer.

Well I doubt it will be Big Sam now. Need a manager with vision and a plan. Someone ho encourages football being played on the floor and entertaining the crowd. I really do not know who but even Hoddle sounds sensible now!
Stevie G with Gary M? We need someone who can command respect in the dressing room and attract players who want to play for them.
Looks like we will be clearing the decks next season - Meslier, Koch, Llorente, Gnonto, Harrison, Rodrigo, Adams and more will move on
The question is.... If Allardyce keeps us up,do we just give him his £3million handshake and say thanks but no thanks and try get a big name manager in.... Or do we ask him to stay on with a view to him handing over the reigns to Robbie Keane.... ?
Personally I think he would deserve a crack at a full season if he keeps us up..... I know that's not a popular opinion but it promotes stability and I would like him to nurture Keane into the role 👍
Just for once - and probably the only time - I'll agree with Mad Massimo and his watermelons speech.
You don't know what any manager is going to be like until you've seen them working with your own players.
I don't care who is next - I'll give 100% support to whoever is appointed by the "great and the good" at the club - until I've seen what team they pick and how we play - then I'll judge.
Plenty of big names turn out to be carp and unknown names become winners... This season alone Champions League winner Conte has bombed at a big name club, whilst little Bournemouth have survived with unknown Gary O'Neill
Is it not already in place Karl Robbins and Robbie Keene if we go down ?
I’ve no objection to CC but he could have accepted the managers job this season. Given that we are firmly and squarely a club that panic sacks it’s managers, we will be even less attractive next season.
Think we might need to set our sights lower. Maybe Skubula, or take a risk on Robbie Keane. Mark Jackson is free.
Potter's team do play good football but, for some reason, do not score many goals.
I would like a manager that knows the Prem, if we stay up. Someone with a similar philosophy to MB without the man to man all over the pitch.
For me CC, Rogers, or Potter is the way to go.
All three are relatively young, play a decent brand of football and players they have worked with in previous Clubs have all improved.
Would leeds in the Championship secure the signature on any of these three i dont know but would any of these three keep LUFC in the 23/24 PL if we are lucky enough to survive this season? i dont know that either, but i suspect we would (with investment and the cutting away of the deadwood currently in the dressing room)
All i do know is that SA is not the way forward / future of the Club regardless on how this season pans out. That's no disrespect to the current manager and i do wish him success (naturally) but it aint his fault "if" we go down either, i just dont see SA ethos of the game and our "way" especially after Marcelo Bielsa as being compatible
The next manager will depend on which direction the club ultimately want to go. If we plan on keeping Bamford, Ayling, Dallas, Cooper as main stays in our first team game day squads then Pulis, Big Sam makes sense. Should we plan on using the like of Greenwood, Gelthardt, Perkins, Summerville, Joseph, Gnonto, Cresswell, Hjelde, Gyabi, Dremah, Rutter, as our main stays in our game day first team squads then a up and coming technical manager is the way to go. If it was me I would aim for the second option and push for a really talented guy.
The idea of a Marcelo Gallardo or Julien Stephan taking charge and growing with our young players in the English game would be mouth watering. Other options of that Spanish guy from Rayo or Corberan as former Beilsa disciples would be appealing. The lets get back to English would see Potter. Lets be honest, we the fans would take any of the above and it really all comes down to the clubs new direction.
Brendan Rogers would be by far and away my first choice pick.
As long as it's not Lampard, Bruce or Big Sam etc!
Potter would be great for a LONG TERM PROJECT and a definite step forward with the way his career had progressed overall....
I suppose Corberan would be good simply because he worked with Bielsa.... add Hoddle to work oopstairs and I'd be more than happy.
We know how crap it'll be if we do go down, but I bet that after a month or so, there will be a real feel good factor about our club, if we make a decent managerial appointment and have loads to spend on transfers in the Championship....
Corberan
