Game is at ER on Wednesday 9th August with a KO of 7.45pm
Hopefully we get 20k+ crowd.
They are basically a mid-table L1 side and the game could see us come up against our academy star Noah Kenneh.
I would pick the following team which is more than good enough o go through:
Darlow
Allen Cresswell Hjelde Byram
Shackleton Gyabi
Poveda Geldhart Gnonto
Perkins
Subs (It is at ER): KK, Ayling, Stuijk , Chilokoa-Mullen, Spencer, Costa, James, Bate, Sinistera
Key takes from the match.
Gelthardt finally got that goal he needs for confidence.
Ayling's age has him seeming not good enough even for League 1.
Shackleton is a System player, the stricter the system requirements the more at home he looks. Future manager in him.
Gyabi looking more comfortable.
The whole team looked mads as hell with the deflection going in.
35,129 Crowd - Amazing!! 73% possesion, 20+ shots on goal. Just need to find our shooting boots
Kin ell we got Salford away in the next round.... Mancscums little sister!
That'll kick off.... 🥊🥊🥊🥊
Plenty of shots, only 25% on target, so need to find our shooting boots.
But well done boys, a win's a win. MOT💙💛
Poveda, James ,Ampadu & Gray all sounded like they had good games..
Get innn
2-1 Strujic from a corner
JOFFY--😁
1-1 Poveda shot, keeper pushes it out and bounced of Joffy and in ..positive start to 2nd half ..
Byram & Strujic on for Hjelde & Gyabi ..Ampadu moves into midfield ..
Every team we face just knows we'll offer them a goal or two.
This has been going on for the best part of 2 years.
How and when will we be able to root out all those defensive frailties, I don't know.
People should aknowledge/understand that despite Saturday's turnaround and good second half performance, and put things into perspective that it was against a fairly poor (mediocre at best) Cardiff City.
Even if we do manage to turn it around against Shrewsbury, there remains so much work to do with this team.
It also confirms that at least some of those on the "fringes" of the team are perhaps not all ready for this level (let alone the Premiership).
FFS LEEDS----They have there goal we need our 3 NOW--😥
0-1
1-0 to Shrews
Leeds United: Karl Darlow;
Jamie Shackleton, Luke Ayling, Charlie Cresswell, Leo Hjelde;
Ethan Ampadu, Archie Gray, Darko Gyabi,
Dan James, Ian Poveda,
Joe Gelhardt
Bench: Illan Meslier, Kristoffer Klaesson, Pascal Struijk, Sam Byram, Kris Moore, Cody Drameh, Lewis Bate, Sonny Perkins, Luis Sinisterra
3-1 Cresswell,Gelhardt & Poveda
I think there is live audio on LUTV.
Becks and Emma doing the pre match show now,new 3rd kit looks good on Emma!..
Good luck BB 2-0 to The Mighty Whites, Joffy and Poveda with the goals⚽️💥🥊💛💙
Heres to a big cup run BB---😃 LEEDS 3-1
No Link !!!!!!!!!!!
3nil
Dan James to score
Weather is cracking t'flags
Gyabi mom
looks like Ayling at CB or Shacks at LB?
Gray at number 10.
Gelhardt up front.
Hopefully Cody & Perkins get a run out ..
does anyone have a link for the game?
Best of luck mate for long run.3-0 Leeds win
It would be nice to see Cresswell get 90 minutes under his belt and no injuries!
It will also be interesting to see if Drameh plays?
come on Leeds
My side would be:
Klasseson
Shackleton, Cresswell(C), Hjelde , Ferguson
Bates, Gyabi
Povada, Gelthardt, James
Perkins
Our goal keeper Klasseson needs game time and this puts him the window for a loan to a League 1 club with a good game.
And just to throw another line up in the air. I'd go with
Darlow
Shackleton Cresswell Hjelde Byram
Gyabi Ampadu
Poveda Allen Perkins
Gelhardt
I dont predict but if I did 5-0 to LUFC. Hope Carlsberg rules apply.
Well stepped up BB and good luck on your march to Wemberlee....
I'd go with that team but that'd really piiss Gnonto off if he had to play in this one!
It'll be tougher than we think but I'm going for a positive 2-0 victory with Perkins notching a brace....
Darrow
Shackleton
Cresswell
Hjelde
Mullen
Gyabi
Bate
Poveda
Gelhardt
James
Perkins
..
Looking forward to a rare trip to Mecca on Wednesday.
Expect a youth side - the one you pick works for me, except I can't see Gnonto being risked ahead of a move.
Best of luck for a prolonged run - going for a 2-0 Leeds
