Only a matter of time, days or weeks I'd have thought.
I'd be happy with Potter when he gets the sack.
We really need somebody that can sort the defence out. I think the players need a proper manager right now not an inspirational speaker impersonator.
Would you sack him today. I would.

I'm with you Danish but apparently 65% of Leeds fans in a Facebook poll want Glenn Hoddle in....
We just might have a very good manager on our hands. Of course only few games in, and biased after yesterday’s performance, but…
- we are actually winning games
- our game-plan (or line-up) is not predictable
- our playing is not chaotic, but more controlled than what we’ve seen for a long time
- our wingers are more direct and creating danger
- Firpo, Roca and others suddenly look more than decent
- the players generally seem to have faith in him
- his appearance is that of a manager’s
So far, it’s thumbs up!
all sorted
Work permit issues being resolved soon I hear.
Latest images of Javi and his team arriving today.....
The more I know about Sergio Garcia the better he sounds.... I was underwhelmed initially.
He took over Watfordscum just above the relegation zone and took them to 14th....
He lead them to an all time best finish the following season of 11th and took them to the FA Cup Final 👏
He got sacked the following season after one point from the first 4 games but this is little Watford.... and more importantly it was by the lunatic Pozzo owners who have sacked 16 managers in 12 years!
Watfordscum got relegated that season 🤣👏
He knew how to get a little club this far so that means he will take us into Europe next season.... I'm definitely behind him now 👍👏
Criteria is he must have managed for 36 months during the previous 5 season in a recognised European league for a work permit.
He has only done 33 months. 3 months shy? I bet the penpushers are rubbing thier hands as we have to pay £5k for a special hearing.
Given he has managed Watford in the Prem and got them to an FA Cup Final thinks he proves he adds value to the game. Still the beaurocrats will get a little financial bonus for the red tape
Expect it to be confirmed tomorrow
This is only a short term appointment. Could it be thatthe club has bought in a man who has experience in the English game but also is not afraid of demanding professionalism from his player. Think this is a very good short term appointment.
Doesn't really matter what we say about the current manager, all that is currently at stake is a must 3 points on Saturday, lose that, well.................... At least I have 2 shirts with the Premier League logo on, may be a collectors item in the future!
The more I hear about him the more I think he could be a good appointment. Time will tell, but if we do go down (quite likely) it will not be the fault of Gracia.
I'm with you BB and think Gracia did a very good job at small Watford keeping them from relegation and getting to an FA Cup final....
Being able to adapt to different styles of play is better than our other managers could comprehend....
I'm with you Smurf and this is a ridiculous appointment.... you're bang on it when we've gone from a much sought after world class manager in Bielsa to a failed Watford manager who will only last til the summer either way.
Feck me, we've gone from Biesla and Marsch to a new level of mediocrity, we made as well have appointed Redknapp. We've thrown all the long term planning in the bin in a panic fit. Think we all know Gracia will be gone by the end of June. Five managers in six years is ridiculous - one stupid sacking after another. And now our ambition is a failed Watford manager steeped in three lines of 4-4-feckin-2. Somebody is having a laugh.
In the lucky dip bran tub of managers we could have done worse...a lot worse.
Gracia is imo off the middle shelf but that counts for nothing if he can't immediately turn round, motivate and influence the squad.
Primarily showing them where the goal is and how to keep it out one end and lash it in at the other.
Can't see much of a personnel change for Saturdays line up, just a tweak to the formation.
MOT
Start of the Great escape not a countdown to relegation.
Sky shows him walking into ELLAND Road
If people want to sway how the crowd reacts they should become a member of the said crowd and participate.
Any negative chanting from the crowd will be aimed at Orta, not by me,well not until we are down. We need to get behind the team.
Getting the first goal in the game v Southampton could well signal how the season will end. If we concede first and the crowd get a bit protesty it could get ugly.
I just hope we score first and get good 3-0 win with a couple of Bamford goals to get his confidence and desire up.
Well good luck to him, I don't think he will save us but I will be there supporting him. We left the inevitable sacking of Marsch far too late, Orts's stubborn/stupidity streak.
I'm proud that I was there at Forest shouting Marsch out, it was our only hope of staying up, I am surprised at how long it has taken us to get a new man in and at how underwhelming he is but he will get full support from me as he is now our last chance.
According to Phil Hay usual activities canceled at thorp arch as Java expected soon
Very underwhelming but we have to get behind him to get out of the crap as he doesn't need fans on his back as well as the massive job he has to do....
Let's hope he can replicate his stats from the Egyptian 4th division....
It's on Sky Sports breaking news that he's expected in Leeds this morning.... let's hope it's for shopping.
Javi Gracia:
If rumour is to be believed - offered a 4 month deal with a big survival bonus
Background info so we can all do our best to be positive..... 😉
Back 6 years ago he was reckoned to be one of the top 20 promising young managers (in a daily Express article), just before he got the Watford Job.
He kept Watford up in 2018
then took them to the FA Cup final in 2019 and an 11th place finish in the PL with 50 points - both club records in the PL era.
He fell foul of Watford's Pozzo revolving door soon after a bad start in the 2019/20 season
He played 4-2-2-2 at Watford to suit the personnel and was very attacking but apparently prefers 3-4-2-1.
He's described by Ben Foster (Watford) as a very calm individual and a good guy that the players appreciated.
It appears news is close and quite frankly whoever it is I'll be willing them on, even though I feel it may be too late right now.
Rumours circulating th something is going to happen today.
Prefer Benitez of the available options.
Thomas Tuchel’s name hasn’t been brought up at all. Remembering how he immediately turned Chelski around after Fat Frank, he could do a good job for us. But maybe we’re not big enough to even look his way, even though he’s out of work?
Javi Gracia now the odds on bookies favourite. Hardly very inspiring.
Desperate times...desperate measures.
On the other hand we need a new face in the door.
Been at a lot of clubs, took watford to fa Cup final. Mediocre at best.
Should have got rid of JM when WC started!
No big name will touch us until the season ends imo
Just off the top of my head without even thinking about it and a name that hasn't been mentioned.... Gordon Strachan?
Don't think he's doing anything and would certainly fire us up and knows the club.... Gary Macallister alongside him?
I suppose I'm going too far if I say Hoddle as Director of Football!?
Strachan in....!?
And as if the day couldn't any worse, fkn Colin wins his first game back in charge of the Dog Botherers!!!
Would Roy H come out of retirement? He's a dino but always had some survival talent.
We are really now paying the price of being owned by a true potless amateur.
Rednapp/Fat Sam
No to dinosaurs!!!
Love his old school stories etc but too old and too long out of the game now.... he has to stay retired to be a legendary manager.
Has to be bullshiit LeedsNewsNow anyway!
Anyone up.for Redknapp? Not me!
Absolutely loved how our fans claimed Alfred Shrueder to just like Hockaby but in actual fact our current appointment has a extremely similar resume instead. You could not make this up.
Our fans did not want a guy who had been at Ajax, Baracelona, Brugge and Hoffenheim as a manager and or a assistant manager to both Ten haarg and neigelman (two of the best managers in current club football).
I find it funny because if they actually looked close enough they would have understood that a shueder appointment would have been short term worth it as it at the very least stopped the club looking like a complete joke.
Southampton turn down J Marsh
No Marsch reunion - he's declined the Southampton deal at the last minute.
I am relieved we don't face him in 2 weeks, but it means 2 clubs looking for a new manager at the same time.
so scobidoo gets the job
From Bielsa to this, unbelievable.
Good luck to him, seems like a decent bloke. He can't really fail anyway, if he keeps us up he is a hero, if we go down nobody will blame him it will be the 3 stooges that get it.
Hopefully the team is good enough to pull off this miracle despite it all.
Going to be interesting at Goodison on Saturday either way. If we are losing the board will get some right pelters then you will get people saying support the team, fights break out in the away end, we've seen it all before.
What a disappointing season this has turned out to be, 4 wins thus far.
Please just win the next 2 Leeds, no pressure young Willy but I'm pinning my hopes on you.
Alfred Shreuder not coming AR pulled the plug much to VO's annoyance.
Gerard anyone?
I can't see any other option than Skubala. All the other names are a comedown after Biesla and Marsch.
Nunez doing the rounds on Twitter
Give Skubala a run of games. He seems to know what he is doing and knows the players. I think we did quite well in the two games against Man Poo.
I'm not too sure it matters who comes in any more for the outcome of this season. We left it too late to sack the last bloke. We need somebody who will stick with us and get us out of the championship next season.
If marsch gets saints job is he cup tied in a fortnight?
Ffs
We need to win 6 or 7 games between now and the end of the season and the next two are two must win games...just get someone competent in (nuno will do) or give it to skuby doo.
It's not the ajax dude.
Not an inspiring CV at all but please, no, not Gerrard! Skubala over him any day of the week.
I would prefer Gerrard or our assistant keep the job than Shreuder,Ajax sacked him after 7 games without a win in a sh1te league,if we appoint him it looks like desperation from our board.
If the lad from Vallecano is our number 1 target we should pay the 7 million buy out fee.
If we are going to be cheap,I would prefer us to give Skubala the next 2 games to earn himself the job Til end of season than bring in a manager who failed in the Eiredivisie with the best team in the league..
2 words I can take out of Alfred Shreuder are usually only used alongside our resident weather forecaster.... dreadful and fraud!
I promise to get behind the poor bloke.... for the first game anyway.
He's got to hit the ground running to save us and himself!
Does anyone know anything about his style of play and relationships with players etc?
I can only find he took Ajax from top to 5th!🙈
It's gonna have to be Alfred Shreuder as he is just ahead in the pecking order of Nathan Jones and David Hockaday....
Surely it'd be cheaper to get a TOP TOP manager than get loads of managers who are sacked and we have to pay them MILLIONS to end their contracts that still run for a couple of years after they have failed at their job....
Marsch 3rd favourite for the Southampton job. Good luck to them.
So here's what I don't get. We are quite prepared to spend anything north of £30million on players, but are not currently prepared to buy out a first choice managers contract for somewhere between £4-10million, I'm sure someone will explain the logic!
Alfred Shreuder now the bookie favourite.
Dutch with good experience.
Followed ten hag at ajax but sacked when the found out he was useless.
Nathan Jones sacked at Southampton and hope they don't get one of our previous choices!
Hopefully they'll get Allardyce before we panic and get him....
Maybe if the Hammers beat Chelscum today, Potter may be available! Think he would do a good job for us.
Since we currently in need of a good manager, why do we not offer Lucian Favre the position until seasons end? Great manager who plays the game the right way and good at getting player to perform. A short term deal until seasons end would suit both parties.
Yosser Hughes has just turned the job down ( twitter comment, made me laugh).
I think we're down to Plan M now.... were none of our first few choices not contacted before the sacking to see their stance!?
Marsch and Bielsa seem to be available....
Annie Slot has ruled himself out.
Gallardo doesn't want to start a new job until the summer..
Rumour we approached Poch but he said no.
we made an approach for Nuno(ex wolves)
all the rumours doing the rounds .
we are running out of options..
One crap report from the up to date LeedsNewsNow says Orta has returned home empty handed from Spain....
Would anyone take Skubala and his team til the end of the season?
He's very highly thought of, speaks really well to the press, was taken from England coaching who wanted to keep him and certainly knows his onions.
One game shouldn't get him a job and maybe he's more of a coach than a manager but I'm sure we can name worse contenders after the dross that our chairman have bought in....
He just hasn't been mentioned at all....
Sitting on the fence here myself but I wouldn't be dead against it ....
Vayacano trying to block our mve for their manager but he wants to come to us.according to Balague from sky sports ..
Well skuba dooba do did well and he will get the Sunday gig
For those of you like myself who were lucky enough to see the match, to me, the whole incident with Leicester seems to have had a effect on Harrison. On at least 3 occassions we were bearing down on the Manure penalty area and his passing was nothing short of woeful.
Ironically, I quite like him in the current midfield role.
I think Orta is out in Spain so obviously talking to Areola knowing what price it'll take to get him.... one good result will not change things in his pursuit of him.
.... I think....
History is littered with temp managers being appointed on a perm basis after a few good results and then it ends in disaster. Rather the board take their time. If we can string a few results together, more high profile managers will begin to take notice.
I think Skubala maybe be given a run of games as we cannot seem to get who we want for now. Great result tonight.
the Vayacano manager we want has a 9 million release clause that would make him 4th most expensive manager ever if we pay it ..
Seems Corberan turned us down because he wanted longer than an 18 month contract.
Shame it is the appointment I would prefer and I think his wages would have been cheaper than some.
Long live the reign of Michael Skubala.
We're a sleeping giant with a great fanbase and a great owner with big owners coming in with hopefully a load of dosh.
We're already 17th so if we do get relegated then it won't be the new manager's fault with the transfer window gone.... surely we're too good and got enough good players to get us out of it anyway!?
If we could have finished v Forest, and other clubs, when we're dominating games then we'd be at least mid table already.... and if we didn't have a crap defence....!? 🙈🤣🤬😲
I think Leeds United is a great gig to take....
The search for a new manager:
Andrea picks up the phone, "hi, It's Andrea Radrizzani...."
Carlos Corberan, "oh, err, I'd rather stay at West Brom thanks"
Pocchetino "oh, err I think I might get another offer thanks"
Ange P, "oh, erm I'm doing good in Glasgow ta"
Arne Slot, "who? oh no ta"
Steve Bruce, "jesus, I'm not that desperate...."
Bielsa .....silence then *click*
Might have gone a bit early on the sniff of slot.
Skysports saying its andoni or ange
This slot sounds promising. Never heard of him 30 minutes ago like but I've done my research now and I would be pleased if we get him.
Corberan signed a contract extension at baggies..
Odds on sky, paddy and already suspended on bet365.
Means we'll get pardew tomorrow
How will Koch fit in with slot?
FFS Arnie Slut is odds on at 2/5!!
Never heard of him and can hopefully be our new Darko Milanic....
Slot odds on at skybet
Would prefer Corberan. Did very well at Huddersfield and worked miracles at WBA.
None of the other serious contenders have manged in England. Corberan also knows the club well and benefited from working under Bielsa.
Glad Marsch has gone.
Just been sent a picture of a tweet that Radz has put out, goes something along the lines of.
We Are on it. Hopefully white smoke by tonight or tomorrow.
Im guessing they are close and have been speaking to somebody behind the scenes for a few weeks.
It's unlikely that a top rated manager will take the post in our current position. They last thing they need as they protect their "brand" is to have a potential relegated team as a manager on their CV. The transfer window has closed so any high profile appointment will not have any room to improve the squad. My guess is that Corberon will be given the job. He already manages in the Championship so if the worse came to the worse, for him their is no personal damage.
Skubula, Gallardo and Armas now in charge for next match. When did Gallardo take up post? That went under the radar.
I wonder if Skubula might be a serious option as manager. A decent performance against Man Yoo could shake the Apple cart up.
https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/30998/trio-to-take-charge-of-manchester-united-fixture
Hope it's not Ange from Celtic, the Scottish league is a joke and he hadn't had any big jobs before Celtic.
Can't see us going back in for Bielsa.
would love him involved as director of football or in some capacity but probably won't happen.
we probably won't get them but I hope the board is going after Poch & Tuchel.
I'm not disappointed JM is gone,he took over with us 16th and we finished 17th and are currently 17th so no real improvement.
the board have to get this right and get a manager who can get results and keep us up.
Corbean would be a gamble imo.
Nuno( ex wolves ) would be a decent appointment, knows the division and plays decent football, and did well with Wolves ..
Androni iraola- he is been mentioned. I like the cut of his jib, could be a decent bet.
Manager.... Glenn Hoddle
Director of Football.... Bielsa
Director of Defending.... George Graham 2 days a week
I reckon it will be corberon, a bit of a gamble in my view.
who i would like that I think is possible- nuno Santo
Who I would like that is probably not possible - Poch
Who my heart wants - BIELSA!!!!
It will inevitably end up being somebody I haven't heard of though I suppose, from Mexico perhaps.
Would love Tuchel and why wouldn't he come to a sleeping giant with hopefully pots of money in the summer.... technically and tactically sound
Would like Potch....
DEFINITELY NOT RAFA BENITEZ....
Costepoglu style of football sounds good but he's only decent in a one horse race this season....
Not sure on Corberan....
Probably be another Yank though....
If it were me, I would be making serious overtures to Brendan Rogers.
Not sure about sacking JM
Who would take over?
CC - not proven Prem manager and would he get all of the players' respect and would they all buy into him and his methods?
Vincent Company - I would love to get this guy in! Wont come as Burnley are likely to be in the Prem next season.
Ange Postecoglou - Wont come with Celtic flying.
TT and Poch are pipe dreams
And please no-one suggest the dinosaurs that are Salad Mallard-Dyke, Warcock or Fatty Evans!
Rumours currently circulating that Jesse has departed from the club. Nothing seen official yet!
How can a squad with the following get us relegated!?
Strikers.... Rodrigo, Bamford, Nutter
Wingers.... Gnonto, Harrison, Summerville, Sinesterra
Midfielders.... Aaronson, Adams, Mackenzie
Goalkeeper.... Meslier
Defenders.... Wober
I think the lack of defenders tells us something....
We sign these decent players and they come here looking to get into Europe maybe next season from the promises given to them when signing and they are instantly thrown into a relegation battle with teams with half our funds and half our talent.
Drameh should have stayed, Kirzo should have been signed at LB and someone LIKE a Maguire at CB, with Koch as back up.... this squad would have got us challenging for the last European place and something to build on for not much more outlay.
SS
