Not sure if you can say Gotts and Stevens are looking really good for L2 Barrow when they have each only play 2 games out of the 6/7 they could have played.

Also, there is a big big difference between L2 and the Prem. If we were in the Championship/L1 then I am sure they would have been offered more of a chance like Howson, Phillips, Taylor, Mowatt, Byram etc. Each of these would have moved on as 20/21 year olds if we were then in the Prem.

Standards kids need to achieve is far greater if their club is in the Prem.

If anything, we need to rethink how we develop kids and let these boys go out on loan with a plan for their return. Similar to Ben White who spent a season with Newport in L2, then half a season with Peterboro in L1, a season with us in the Championship, the Brighton used him for a year and sold him for 50million!

Chelsea have done this with Mount, James and Abraham + others.

McCalmont got a good L1 loan move, Bogusz has a second tier Spain loan, 2 others got L2 moves permanently because they haven't made the grade but have a chance to make their own careers and maybe prove us wrong.

I believe we're open to this kind of deal, but either the player chose to leave with an option to make it perm (Davis) or there were no takers who play in our style - remember we have an unusual method so it's not so easy to get a good loan fit.
