I'm not sure any of us are informed enough to make that judgement. It's really down to Rob Price and the medical team. All we can expect is that they will do what is necessary. We do know the players are committed and that's as much as we can expect. It's just as much of a lottery on assuming any incoming player will remain injury free.
Given their injury records and the stage they are at in their careers, it would certainly be a very pleasent surprise to have those 2 available for 30odd games. Cooper is not a player that can hold back, he puts his body on the line but that often comes at a price. His age and the time he needs to recover aren't helpfull. For both players the injuries over last few season seem to have become recurrent and they need more time to shake them off.
PB has struggled not only to get fit but more importantly to remain so. His problems, be it his hamstrings, feet or his tendons remain vulnerable and those kind of injuries have a tendency to reoccur.
Off course you need some luck, but at times in Bamford's case you can see him almost holding back from going full pelt.
Personally I do not regardless if fit not In my opinion they are not right for our club now. They carry to much power in and around the squad and being the supposed leader their game day example is mediocre at best.
We the fan base blamed all the new players last 2 seasons for their game day performances being poor yet by the standards set by the leadership group they were performing equally as mediocre. They got stick but the old guard got a pass.
Our fans, (not all) seem to forget thT the same old guard had us heading towards the bottom of the Championship (15th) prior to Biesla' magic.
As midnight oil said "short term memory I tell ya".
Way too many rumours about players not being comfortable with the leadership group over the 6 years for it to be without some truce. For hose who care to remember the group known as the six note had issues with said leaders, All the loan out players rumoured to had issues. Where there is this much smoke then generally there is fire.
Our club is rebuilding and a different direction from the old guard maybe needed.
I hope this result tells Farke one thing and one thing only.... we need to concentrate our efforts on signing a prolific striker... we have an ok enough defense for the championship and we have a super strong midfield.... but we cannot rely on Bamford he is too prone to injury now I'm afraid.... get that 20 goals a season striker in and we are laughing 👍👍
The thing is we have ten forwards akready, which arguably makes our front line too strong for this division. I really like the look of Joseph and think he would make an excellent understudy for Bamford.
Agree about Joseph 👍 - but if Rutter and Bamford are both out for weeks, now or later, then - and here's the scary part - we might end up playing Dan James as no.9😨
Unfortunately Joseph does not see himself as a understudy to Bamford as he seem himself better then Bamford.
With th style we play we need a complete striker who has high mobility, can score with his feet and head plus bring others into play with hold up play or one touch football.
As much as I dislike Bamford, I do believe he has all that in his locker but said locker has been lock due to injuries or mental issues far to often. He would require 15 games straight to bring it out and unfortunately he has had no ability to remain fit that long.
Second half not so crash hot, we could easily concede against better teams, but we wasted some chances too - James very unlucky with his goal disallowed.
Typical to see both our No9's hobble off - let's hope Rutter or Bamford can start next week
I don't understand the formation Sini,James and Jimmy all seem to be 10 yards apart at some times,I'm not saying it's wrong I just don't understand it.
Hjelde looks really good
Ayling looking more like himself from 2 or 3 years ago.(sorry Dan 😁)
In the attacking 3rd Ayling did look good, I agree there. In the defensive 3rd he was AWOL. Credit for his goal as it was well taken and Summerville's ball was exquisite.
Good team effort, with lots of good performances really.
Well controlled possession, dominated hearts who looked crap.
Ayling did well for the goal - seems a bit odd to pick any one player out of that half as being particularly better than any other - I suppose for me Hjelde stood out - Summerville was involved a lot. Only down side was Rutter limping off.
Looks that way. I think there's every reason to think he should b thrive in that rol. He's got that trickiness and eye for a pass plus goalscoring instincts.
Would have liked to see Charlie Allen iven a chance at the number 10 role this preseason but seem he being held in the U21' for another season. He has that ability to unlock things with a pass.
Summerville can make that position his own and unless we sign a true South American number 10 we mY need to change the role a little.
Poveda was unbelievable and as good as that is we know he'll be massively inconsistent alongside James on the other wing.
We'll no doubt get rid of Summerville and Gnonto now after this 45mins from Poveda! 🙈🤬😲🤔
Credit to Hattrick for his finish.... cool, composed but would he try and roll his foot over the ball in a pressure league game!?
Shacks was good too in different positions 👏
As good a performance as this was, we are going to be moving backwards if we keep ALL OF Ayling, Coops, Shacks, Bamford, Poveda etc in the squad.... we'll be playing Costa next! 🙈
Congratulations to the team tonight on a great performance and probably the worst result we could have got by winning.... very weird feeling! 🙈🤣🤔
I think it's highly unlikely Poveda will remain. Farke has as good said so. But Cooper, Ayling, Shacks and Bamford would walk on hot coals for Leeds. They fit us promoted before, they've got three years added premiership experience. They're exactly what we need for this league.
I definitely keep Poveda as a squad player, all Farke said is he needs to work incredibly hard to be part of his plans.which might be the kick up the ass he needs as he has talent but not consistency.
He had 5 goal involvements in 26 games for a very poor Blackpool team last season and was coming back from a broken leg.
I'd prefer to sell one of James, Summerville,JH or Gnonto to fund a move for someone like Piroe or Hamar.we have too many wingers and not enough LB,CB ,strikers number 10 & midfielders and have brought in little in transfer fees so far.
If we sell Poveda we might get 1 million if we are lucky, sell one of the other wingers and we could get 10-25 million which is enough to fund a decent transfer or 2.
Sidenote-the team that played the final 20 or so minutes besides Gnonto and Rutter were all signed for the u23's or came through the academy.and they looked really good v a strong Forrest team.
Very solid performance,we dominated for 80 mins,it was even for the other 10 mins when Forrest brought on Elanga and a host of subs and it was against a full strength premier league team,I don't think they had many of their academy playing.
My MOTM is a toss up between Poveda and Ampadu. Poveda came on for 2nd half on the right wing and looked lively, put some good crosses in and showed some clever footwork,he switched to number 10 at around 70 mins and enjoyed the free role and took his goal well .Ampadu linked everything up and covered every blade of grass.
Poveda should start v Hearts,I thought he would be one of the players to leave this summer but deserves his chance after that performance.
Shacks had a good game 2nd half at RB.
Byram was solid at LB,got forward a load.
Hjelde & Ayling were solid but didn't offer too much going forward.
Cresswell/Coops looked solid.
Amdadu, Gray & Gyabi all looked good in center mid,Shacks was ok 1st half here.
Sini , James ,Poveda looked decent on the wings.James & poveda put some really good crosses in.
Joseph & Gnonto got 20 mins and recycled the ball well but didn't do too much in the final third.
Bamford took his goal well and hopefully that will give him a boost of confidence.
Rutter looks a bit light weight but showed strength to assist Povedas goal.
Gelhardt pressed well for Paddy's goal and put in a shift but with little end product.
My team for Hearts would be
Darlow
Shacks Cresswell cooper Byram
Ampadu Gyabi
Sini Poveda James
Bamford
..
We moved the ball nicely recycled possession well and used a controlled press all game.
I caught about 30mins of the first half. Ampadu looks like he will be good piece of business. Byram also stood out as a useful addition, I can only assume he will be offered a contract.
Baby Shack looked fairly decent too.
Second half I was only catching glimpses of the match. Poveda looked really good and I thought Rutter linked up quite nicely at times. Some of the things he was trying didn't always come off, but you could see what he was trying to do.
Decent performance tonight from what I saw, only pre season but there were a few positives.
Solid first half,we have had way more of the ball and move it around nicely but we don't look too dangerous in the final third,we've had a few half chances.
Sinisterra and Ampadu are the standout performances at half time,Sini looks exciting everytime he gets the ball,Ampadu is everywhere and is tidy in his passing.
Byram looks tidy at left back.
Gelhardt is playing number 10 and looks low on confidence and falls over too much.we badly need a number 10 signed before the season starts to unlock defenses, teams will put 10 men behind the ball against us and we need a player that can unlock tight defenses,Gelhardt will be ok as back up and to come on as a sub and learn off a more experienced number 10. ..
Good line up. Bryam must be in serious consideration for being signed. Drameh can always play LB where we are light. Cresswell and Cooper could be a perfect partnership for this league. And also good to see Shackleton start. Farke needs to rule these players in or out before he starts spending the transfer kitty. Really like Bamford being partnered by Gelhardt, that should bring out the best in both of them.
Good to see you back Lord Drizzlybum.... are you going tomorrow evening? We'll hopefully get a stream from somewhere....
My love for Bamford has waned and I'd love to see young Joseph get a run.... a goalscorer is a goalscorer and fk all this crap that a goalscorer has to fit into a system.
Goalscoring is the hardest, yet most important, thing to do. Let our system of play fit around a potential 20+ goalscorer and not the other way around!!
If we had a 20 goal player last season we'd still be in the fkn Premier....
Half the clickbait sites saying he wants to leave and the other half say he's staying ..
It's a shambles less than 2 weeks out from the start of the season,Kinnear should have had meetings with all players at the end of the season and ask them if they want to leave and if they're leaving get their agent to find them a new club by start of July ...this will drag on until deadline day ..
The Leeds medical team have already said that both Adams and Harrison will not be cleared to commence full outdoor training until September which is around the international break. This mean there is high possibility of failing a medical for anew club meaning more then likely they are here until the next transfer windows.
Of course unless a club iss willing to sign without a medical then it a different story.
Interesting to hear that Farke said he would prefer 2 easier opersitions prior to playing the likes of ManU and Monaco (European level - he called it).
We play Nottingham Forest then Hearts in the next 6 days. Interesting to see how long the side plays for in each...
By the sounds of it and as against Man U a rather decent first half, followed by a poor second. Very poor defending led to the first goal, all 11 Leeds players in our box trying to defend a corner against 6 Monaco players. Poor header away from Cresswell, followed by a clumsy challenge from Gnonto. Why on earth did we have 10, yes 10 players in or in one yard of our six-yard line??? No kidding, but even pub teams in general do better in defending a corner.
Second goal, Byram ball watching already and standing 5yards away from his opponent, decideds to step back another couple of yards just to make sure the Monoca player has even more time and space to put in his cross.
This time Cresswell doesn't even go for the header, can't find his man and Meslier is in no men's land and gets beat with a header from the 18yard line... Takes some doing.
Thank god that after the game there was some good news too, hm..., Wober is probably leaving (no doubt another loan deal),
If Wober leaves that means we'll have Struijk/Coops for one of the centre back positions, we'll be lucky if Cooper is fit enough to play in half of the Championship games.
Adams & Harrison are still out for the forseeable future which perhaps could keep them at the club for now (silver lining).
Firpo's out for 5 weeks so a good chance we'll be stuck with him.
Not a word on Dallas, been out for 15/16 months now.
At least Forshaw is going, so the young ones will have more chance of playing and at least we've gotten an injury prone player off the books.
Why play Meslier if he's leaving?
No Perkins or Greenwood involved?
1 new player in , 9 out with several more on their way?
Still no real LB, still no playmaker, no nr. 9.
The start of the season is just 13days away. Every day just seems to raise more questions than there are answers.
Gnonto due back for training tomorrow so we may, or may not, get some clues as to whether he's going to stay with us.....or whether he's going to have another relegation scrap with Everton.
Surely he's better than this and others should be in for him but it'd be great if he trained really hard for us.
If we're not going to sign any fkn players with the season 20 odd days away then at least players like him, Wober, Adams, Meslier, Sinesterra, Harrison, Summerville etc should stay and get us out of the crap they put us in in the first place.... unfortunately it doesn't work like this but the longer they stay the more chance we have of keeping them.
What a crap post but I'm trying to hold out for a bit of optimism....
My West Ham supporting mates were gutted when he left them as he was just getting on the bench for the first team with great potential and the next big thing.
He joined us, obviously with the promise of being in and around the first team, but seems to have gone backwards as now in the u21s instead of the first team squad for a friendly!?
We're going to lose him if we're not careful.... anyone heard anything about him oop north?
I wouldn't pay much attention to u21/first team squad for pre season,it's all about getting players fit,Perkins probably got a 45-60 min run out.
Wouldn't surprise me if Perkins got loaned out for the season as it stands he has Bamford, Joseph,Rutter & Gelhardt ahead of him so probably won't get many minutes this season
4 goals for any striker in one game is outstanding no matter what opposition is put in front of you. Better yet, Gelthardt, Rutter both score which can only do their confidence good. Oh Summerville cooking..
There is not much in the way of preseason promotion media this year. Wondering if it is because it will show our players throwing up after the running they are doing.
I am not even going to say who our worst performer were in this match or people will say it cause I have an agenda against them.
Positive was Joseph, Dremah, Gyabi, Hjelda, Rutter, Grey, Bates and Sinisterra all look solid. Also big shout out to first half keeper Klasseon who played (leeds done him dirty as that was is 10 game in 24 month) pretty decently.
can't claim to have seen the full first half, but one of the standout moments for me was watching Klaessen play a pass
To Gyabi on the edge of our own box whilst he was man marked. Man U took possession and should have scored, he didn't fill me with confidence but as I said I did t catch the full game.
I play 5 aside in a Wednesday night with my mates at Farsley and have done so for over 20 years. I'd be fuming if one of us had played a pass like that when in goals.
Will not disagree with you on that pass as it was beyond risky. This seems to be theme with goalkeeper these day. Push the pass. The difference between a solid keeper and a exceptional one is knowing when to just give the ball old fashioned violence up field and when to be pretty.
I had to borrow a friend computer to watch the game via his Scum site.
Think that if you look at the comments made on here, you'll find that most us pointed towards several poor performances from Ayling, Bamford, Struijk.
Always like to call things as I see them.
Wasn't convinced by any of the used CB's either. But can't hold this against the youngers.
Agree with most of the positives you mentioned. Would add Poveda to that list where as Greenwood & Shacks were closely challenging Ayling for the lowest rating. Liked Drameh at RB, not so much at LB.
Perhaps over time we'll actually play a natural LB there.😉
Sadly, I watched the game. Agree with comments on here. We were OK in the first half and piss poor in the second even though we had far more experienced players.
Didn't see or hear the match, just read the comments here and there and then listened to Farke's interview. He was pretty honest, tried to put a positive spin on what was clearly a poor show, especially the 2nd half. Christ, he has his work defintaly cut out. How can you decide on a method of play when you have no idea who is coming or going!!. How the fck does no other team seem to have these kind of issues?! If 49'rs Enterprise are looking for an immediate return to the Premiership, maybe they should just lower their sights and concentrate on us staying in the Championship!!
For the sake of balance 1972G the first half was definitely more promising - the dross was in the second half.
Manure played a better team in the first half too.
If Farke has learnt something about the "experienced" guys in the second half then that was a worthwhile game, but it did come too soon for him really and he said as much.
Very poor 2nd half and absolutely hammered and taught a lesson in keeping the ball and passing around us....
We had 5 senior players and were walked around by youngsters who won't get near the Mancscum team in the future....
How have we gone from playing fast flowing, exciting football under Bielsa to not being able to trap a bag of cement or even being able to play any triangles....
The Mancscum youngsters at the back just looked so comfortable with the ball at the back as we just chased shadows.
25 days til we play Baardiff and we need 5/6 in by the end of next week!
Anyone heard to interview Farke gave to Adam Pope.
Sounds like we're in an even worse mess than I feared.
Farke certainly has a plate full of work; fitness, tactics and playing staff. Sounds like even he doesn't know what players are going to stick around.
Maybe's he's being very carefull and is just trying to manage/keep expections down. Feels like he's telling us not to expect too many points during the month of August.
He certainly also took a slight swipe/dig at the players contracts handed out under the former regime (having to let players go out on loan or leave on the cheap). Farke said they don't bring in any cash and added he will work to make sure that those things don't happen again.
Reading between the lines, I wouldn't get my hopes up in terms of signing players. Unless first, we sell some players for big money, Sinesterra, Adams, Gnonto, Meslier, Jimmy.
Ideally we should try & keep the 2 or maybe 3 of them, but being realistic
how can we convince them to stick around, if we can't show them enough ambition and challenge for promotion this season?
Maybe in turn, we will need to bring in players on loan. Thing is Premiership teams will first have to decide what players are surplus, hence perhaps why Farke is being prudent in terms of ambition.
Not a good thing when even your coach doesn't know how his team will look like at the start of the season.
We know the ownership thing is a mess - and it does seem the EFL are not helping here as they won't reveal when the required work will be done on their side. It hamstrings the club in terms of business.
We also know that to get players in over the last 3 years we had to bend over backwards on the T&C's - that should have signalled to us the players were not bothered and we should not have signed some of them.
Farke knows what we all do - it is unlikely we will bounce straight back - the odds are against us historically. He and Bielsa have won this league and both did it on their second season.... his assessment of the game yesterday was the same as us, he's managing expectations and so far I'm at least happy with his attitude and approach if nothing else.
Tried to catch what I could of the game on a naff stream that kept freezing, whilst making tea and then trying to eat it.
Of the bits I saw it confirmed that Ayling is sadly very much past his best and should in no way be out first choice RB. He has been a fantastic servant to the club, but he simply isn't good enough now.
The only bright spots were the pacy Joseph and young Gray.
Don't understand what the likes of Struijk, Ayling, Bamford & James just did out there, trying to impress Farke? Most certainly NOT!
The way we conceded those 2 goals and very nearly that 3rd goal, is a quick reminder of everything we did wrong over the last few seasons.
No matter which teams we seem to play (from Premiership sides to lower league opponents or even U23/U21) scoring against LUFC remains so very easy. It does not bode well.
I think Man U have employed all their fastest young attackers in the first half so to have kept them out is a decent effort - agree at times it's been a bit scrambled!
What on earth do you think you're doing watching MUTV - go scrub yourself clean.
Very early days but not a bad half - watchable and we seem to have a plan.
Understandably Manure had the better chances, but our 4-2-3-1 is more controlled and possession based than the chaos of last season.
Rutter up front looks tricky at times, but Sinisterra was the best Leeds player out there - very composed and balanced, good passes and involvement. Poveda trying hard on the right wing. Greewood quiet and a bit fragile in the 10 shirt.
Gyabi seeing a lot of the ball in midfield unlike Shackleton who never touched it.
Drameh and Hyelde at fullback have potential, Klaasen made a good stop but a bit iffy with his distribution. Centrebacks mostly solid, occasional gaffe and scramble back.
Farke's first interview has been shown and he clearly tells us that our squad need to get fit and that the very least that is expected is old school blue collared hard work (bit of mungrul or dogggg work ethic).
I love to see him make the player do the old Magath style or Oscar Ortega (el Profe) or even Bielsa murder ball preseason training. Push these boys to see who want to play for us.
Man Poo, Monaco at York's 8,500 seater and Hearts at their ground. Would expect behing closed doors games v clubs like Farsley/Harrogate/York too
Just hope we are ready for the sheep shaggers. Live on Sky, never felt this nervous since we faced Stoke in MB's first game, but look what happened there!! My boy and I were watching in disbelief!! Amazing footie not like the drivel we had seen from Colin, Monk, Evans, Redders, Heckingbottom et al.
Ten days between Manure & Monaco game and 8 days between Monaco and hearts so I'd expect us to add another 2 or 3 first team friendlies and maybe a Leeds xi friendly. the 3 friendlies arranged seem to be our high profile games so probably a game against Harrogate or Farsley Celtic and a game or 2 against league 1 or 2 teams would be my guess. ..
Preseason dat one is going to be our fitness guys taking training at this stage. The same guys who had our team unfit last season. Oh how look forward to the team training to sub par standard once more.
That's not strictly accurate - last year's management team has all left the club. Skubula wasn't there for pre season last year and neither was Gallardo.
The first week is the fitness team not the coaches right? 2 days of fitness testing in the modern medical machines to actual fitnes and strength levels. Have we change our medical and fitness team as well?
Perkins scoring well for under 21's in pre season.this game was 5 days ago.
https://www.yorkpress.co.uk/sport/yorkcityfc/23696854.tactics-recruitment-key-york-citys-pre-season-takeaways/
We have a behind closed door friendly v York this week ..
My take from the game.
Sinisterra, Rutter, Summerville and Ampadu seem to have developed a decent understanding.
If James is supposed to be rapid then the other teams RB was equally as fast as he stuck with him.
Struijk slowly starting ( only starting) to look, like a CB again. Hjelde is solid and looking better by the match.
Bamford mobility is shot as he seem to have zero agility and came not stop when he is moving at his top speed.
Ayling is decent in the attacking 3rd and abysmal in the defensive 3rd. Took his goal very well.
There little to no commication between keeper and CB's.
Gnonto looks injured.
Summerville is going to be a real 10 by mid-season as he is starting to understand the role.
Ampadu is a real midfielder and I think can operate as a single DCM.
Shackleton is a perfect role player. Seem to thrive on doing the little things and is a good following structure and instructions.
Job's a good 'un.
Clean sheet and another win.
Second half not so crash hot, we could easily concede against better teams, but we wasted some chances too - James very unlucky with his goal disallowed.
Typical to see both our No9's hobble off - let's hope Rutter or Bamford can start next week
Overall - very good first half, OK second.
Solid 1st half,Hearts are poor tbh.
Bamford looks sharp.
I don't understand the formation Sini,James and Jimmy all seem to be 10 yards apart at some times,I'm not saying it's wrong I just don't understand it.
Hjelde looks really good
Ayling looking more like himself from 2 or 3 years ago.(sorry Dan 😁)
Farke-ball is beginning to happen.
Dan James is sooo frustrating
That was a very positive first half.
Hearts 0-1 Leeds at HT
Looks like nobody sniffing around Meslier - he's bracing himself for a Championship season listening to that!!
Anybody forking out for the Hearts stream?
Would have liked to see Charlie Allen iven a chance at the number 10 role this preseason but seem he being held in the U21' for another season. He has that ability to unlock things with a pass.

Drammeh Cresswell Strujic Hjelde
Gyabi Ampadu
Gnonto Gray Rutter
Bamford
Joseph on for Bamford at half time and Summerville for one of the wingers,Gelhardt at number 10 for 45 mins.
This is our last game to experiment imo the Hearts team on Sunday will probably be close to the team that starts against Cardiff.
Id like to see how Rutter does on the wing and how Gray does at number 10,also hope Perkins and Bate get a run out ..
Still tickets left for tomorrow night, that's shows the total apathy surrounding the club and its prospects.
We need to spend some money, the prospect of watching Bamford upfront again is demoralising.
At least he's training at TA and was doing some running and posted "back soon".
Footage showed him running about rather swiftly & freely, already looked quicker than some of our defenders in match situation.
Whilst he's probably a long way from fitness, don't think the injury would stop him from passing a medical.
Anyone heard that Adams wants to leave?
So it is Forest on Thursday evening at Burton's ground
My team for the first 60mins or so would be:
Meslier
Drameh Cresswell Cooper Hjelde
Adams Gray
Summerville Gnonto Sinisterra
Rutter
Interesting to hear that Farke said he would prefer 2 easier opersitions prior to playing the likes of ManU and Monaco (European level - he called it).
We play Nottingham Forest then Hearts in the next 6 days. Interesting to see how long the side plays for in each...
we're consistent if nothing else.
Wasteful, fragile at the back and as a result very predictable we lost another 0-2.
We need to get a result soon just to show the players they can do better and they are capable of competing in the Championship.....
Hearts next starts to look like an important game
Byram on as a sub???thought he wasn't on trial
Ampadu looks tidy so far, creating a few chances from long balls
Hopefully it works....I'm not paying LUTV to watch the game, their track record is bad for getting me a good stream
Starting side vs Monaco
Meslier
Ayling, Cooper, Struijk, Hjelda
Ampadu, Gray
James, Summerville, Sinisterra
Rutter
Seems Captain Brown nose and his right hand man Mr ponytail bun have managed to blind another manager through their Mr Leeds nice guy act.
Looking forward too the Monaco game. Meant to be live on LUTV and only £4.99!
See they are selling the game on lutv £5
I don't get what's happened to Perkins....
22 goals in a day between our first team,u21's & u18's
Fk me I've changed my mind and we're fkn unbelievable and going up....
We beat Barnsley 9-1 in a behind closed door friendly today
..
Think it's more symptomatic of the slow transition from Acer to 49ers.
They did announce the fixtures on Wednesday

There is not much in the way of preseason promotion media this year. Wondering if it is because it will show our players throwing up after the running they are doing.
I am not even going to say who our worst performer were in this match or people will say it cause I have an agenda against them.
Positive was Joseph, Dremah, Gyabi, Hjelda, Rutter, Grey, Bates and Sinisterra all look solid. Also big shout out to first half keeper Klasseon who played (leeds done him dirty as that was is 10 game in 24 month) pretty decently.
Now for the most interesting bit - who DIDN'T feature at all?
Adams (is he going?)
Meslier (suspect that's him going too)
Wober (injury?)
Summerville (suspect he's not committed, but might be Euros rest)
Gnonto (on his way)
Firpo (done here)
Perkins (that really surprised me)
Monteiro (equally surprised)
Cresswell (understood as he has extra leave)
Tried to catch what I could of the game on a naff stream that kept freezing, whilst making tea and then trying to eat it.
Of the bits I saw it confirmed that Ayling is sadly very much past his best and should in no way be out first choice RB. He has been a fantastic servant to the club, but he simply isn't good enough now.
2-0 to scum u21's full time, could've been more.
The more senior players (Bamford, James,Ayling,Strujic,Gelhardt) failed to use there experience to dictate the pace of the game.
Bate & Joseph looked decent 2nd half.Gray looks lively as well..
that's that then.
Second half we played an equally experienced team as the first half but this 45 mins against Man Utd U16s and we looked rubbish.
Struijk was crap, goalie (VdH) not great, Bamford and James well below what's needed, Bate not effective, Joseph OKish
Manure U16 1-0 Leeds
Let them go through on the break (Struijk) - very last season.
entirely new team for the second half except Drameh!!
he goes to LB
Unfortunately watching MUTV on a stream 🖕🤬🖕🤬
We still look all over the place at the back and Mancscum look far more comfortable on the ball and have a plan with little triangles etc...
Gyabi looking good and would love him to play every game preseason to show him that we want him and he could thrive from this....
Very impressed with Hannibal from them and could be worth a loan.... fk me I'm watching on MUTV and want a player from them on loan! 😲🤔🤬😭
Half Time 0-0
Very early days but not a bad half - watchable and we seem to have a plan.
Centrebacks mostly solid, occasional gaffe and scramble back.
well the camera is sorted at least!
I've stumped up for the stream - stupidity I know!
Can't work out how many we'll lose by! Be good to see Drameh, Mullen, Hjelde, Gyabi, Sinesterra and Rutter....
Even Poveda and Shacks are starting!!
We are playing Notts Forest on July 27th
The game v Manchester Reds is on lutv ( at a price )
Game in York same day as train strike
Farke's first interview has been shown and he clearly tells us that our squad need to get fit and that the very least that is expected is old school blue collared hard work (bit of mungrul or dogggg work ethic).
I love to see him make the player do the old Magath style or Oscar Ortega (el Profe) or even Bielsa murder ball preseason training. Push these boys to see who want to play for us.
Mancs-Frogs and Sweaty Socks then----that Stoke game is implanted in my brain--if we can start like that mate-😋 BE IN FARKING HEAVEN
Daniel is waving goodbye on a plane---sorry Eltons on the radio---who are the 3 teams BIg BB--
So we have 3 games and will be undercooked when we face Baadiff
Well Koch, Llorente and Aranson didn't turn up for preseason, so clearly they're all off.
Bet we take thousands to Hearts....
Monaco game to be played at York as a big referb to our pitch so no home friendlies....
The Mancscum friendly is next week and should be able to stream it.... if we have a manager and team by then!
We due to have a few more behind closed doors friendlies....
'mon the Jam Tarts 😝🤣
We are playing Hearts and Monaco in pre season ..
Fortunatley, our 12 international players will not report back until 10th July
So we will probably only have about 10 turning up on 2nd.
Robles (?) Ayling, Struick, Koch (?) Firpo (?), Greenwood, Bate, Bamford, Geldhart, Perkins, Sinisterra, Poveda, Forshaw (?), Shackleton, Costa (?) , Harrison, Roca (?), Rutter, Drameh and Gray.
So assuming those with question marks leave, then it is 14 players due back on 2nd.
Preseason dat one is going to be our fitness guys taking training at this stage. The same guys who had our team unfit last season. Oh how look forward to the team training to sub par standard once more.
What a game that would be with Steven Gerrard in charge of us!!
At ibrox v rangers is on the cards
£79 a ticket I've heard, to watch us get hammered.
