I didn't know Connor Roberts was named in the Championship team of the year last season.... that means he's the best RB in the league!

He says he also likes a scrap which means he will suit us and he brings assists and goals to his game.... sounds ideal and can't work out why Bumley got rid of him for the standard they are at near the bottom of the Prem. They must have brought in a worldbeater to replace him to get away from relegation! You'd have thought he'd been good enough and bought in a creative playmaker or goalscorer instead to get extra points....

He apparently gets on great with Rodon, Ampadu and James in the Welsh connection so should fit in seemlessly.... well done Farke.

It means Archie can be rested and rotated in his proper position to give us competition....

We WILL go through a sticky patch of only picking up a couple of points from 5 games....

Our defence is threadbare after losing Ayling, Hjelde and Spence....

Strukij is taking far longer than expected....

Coops is rumoured to be going to Blackbum but if he doesn't, he'll be injured after 2 games....

Firpo will be injured within the next couple of games as has been proven so far....

Byram is picking up injuries....

Cresswell may or may not be back in the fold....

Rodon will get injured or suspended by the law of averages.... we will look crap and concede goals when he's out.

Ampadu needs to stay in midfield but is a great cover option for CB....

We CANNOT be left with the likes of Gray and Shacks playing out of position....

I know many of you are happy with who we have but I fear it's gonna come back and bite us on the bum.... it's not fkn rocket science 😲

With Gnonto and Cresswell committing to LUFC this season, we just need someone who can play RB and LB and we really need a No10 like Pablo

Not only have we missed out on David Brooks, he's gone to one of our rivals at Southampton! 🤬

He'd have been a great, cheap loan signing and good enough to be at least a squad player for us next season if we reach the Prem....

If we sell Gnonto, who has done virtually nothing for us overall, we'd have been able to get quality players like Brooks and Godfrey on loan with FFP and definitely get promoted.... I hope the 69ers prove me wrong before the transfer window closes

With Gnonto and Cresswell commiting to LUFC the only need is a fullback but I would love another No.10 too

What would happen if Rodon, God forbid, gets injured after the transfer window has closed?

Cresswell is going, Coops will get injured after 1/2 games, Ampadu is a midfielder who can do a great job at CB but we miss him too much from midfield and Strujik IS injured.... I just don't see why us fans wouldn't want another QUALITY CB in!?

Why are there transfer windows if a player that signs won't be ready for 2/3 months?

It must be the same for EVERY club then?

No point anyone signing for any team if they are going to take that amount of time to integrate into a team?

A team needs to keep building and sign when they are on the rise to keep momentum .... if they only signed when clubs were struggling then that club is going to take a further 2 months to stabilise if it takes players that long to settle and integrate.

Why employ scouts and pay them a fortune if they don't think they can integrate into our system within a couple of weeks.... decent players are intelligent and should be able to fit into different systems.

I'm not saying to buy superstars on extortionate wages to unsettle the rest of the squad. I stated that I wanted players of a similar ilk to be able to come off the bench seemlessly when players suffer from injuries, suspension and loss of form!

Even Farke said he's open to improving the squad in a couple of positions.... like I've said.

I've never known fans not wanting to sign players who could improve our squad when the manager wants some if we have the money....

Reading Farke's comments ("the club is two players short" → Ayling & Spence) it certainly looks like we're going to sign a couple of players.

However I don't think it will be for big money, so either a couple on loan or for fairly low fees.

It's the first time that Farke has been this outspoken about the number of players in his squad.

He also pointed to the Cresswell situation (sounds he's going too) and the injury to Pascal (out for longer than expected) so we may bring in a CB too.

Importantly he also said none of our "big" players are up for sale.

We WILL have injuries, suspensions and just loss of form.... players need to be able to come straight in and improve /stabilise the squad. We can't have players come in who will weaken the starting X1....

We've already had to push Ampadu back to CB as we have no cover for Strujik. Coops has proved this by getting injured every time he plays a game....

Having a squad with players like Darlow, Gnonto, Anthony, Piroe, Byram etc on the bench is what we need to rotate as we play 8 more games than the Prem teams.... we can also build for the Prem with players who can come in now.

Just because we've had some crap/dodgy signings doesn't mean that will always happen....

We need our squad to be stronger than our rivals. Ipswich, for instance, will struggle when injuries, suspension and loss of form hit them as they'll only have youngsters to come in....

We don't have to buy. We aren't going to improve the attack, we aren't going to imorove the midfield, we aren't going to improve central defence, we aren't going to improve the keeper position. The longer this team has played together, the more cohesive it has played. The worst thing our club could do is spend £15m on a player who spends the next six months embedding and not achieving in place of a settled squad member. Spending big would be a massive error and we've been here before with Asprilla, Augustin, McKinney, Roberts etc.

Here's the negative spin for the morning....

As much as I love the way the 69ers are hoping to take us forward, we HAVE to buy in this transfer window.

We're 5pts behind automatic and no team can guarantee going up in the playoffs.

I haven't got a clue on what we're allowed to do FFP wise but if we spent 30m on 3 players, this would surely get us promoted to gain the 100s of mill in the Prem?

If we didn't go up this season then we'd lose Meslier, Rodon, Strukij, Firpo, Ampadu, Summerville, Rutter, Gnonto and have to start again.... maybe Gray as well if big bucks are offered. James will want another crack at the Prem as well after his form....

I'm not looking forward to Ayling, Coops, Kamara, Gruev, Shacks, Byram, Bamford as our mainstay next season....

Someone like West Ham will come in for him and offer 80k pw and I wouldn't blame him for going....

The only good thing in our favour is the Prem clubs have to adhere to this FFP and is the reason why the window is so slow.... the roundabout will start though as soon as a couple go through and we'll be left trying to nick a couple of players in the last 2 hours!

Whatever your thoughts on them being still with us or not, they are too fkn injury prone.... they last one, maybe 2, games and are out again!

Off the top of my head Coops will be on 30k and Firpo 40/50k pw.... I can't understand how Cresswell isn't ahead of Coops in the pecking order when he is also our future.

Coops needs to get a role on our coaching staff and we just need to get Firpo off the wage bill before he becomes our next Helder Costa....
