As the full time whistle blew on the last day of the EPL, Everton have confirmed that Jack Harrison will return to Leeds United as his loan spell has ended.
The news will be met with mixed reactions from Leeds fans - unsure about the value Harrison brings to the squad and still reeling from the comments that his mother made back in December 2023 when she was captured on social media with the comments "I f*****g hope not" when asked if he was returning to Leeds.
Harrison, 28, has had a mixed bag on the field as well for both Leeds and Everton, producing some stunning performances that helped Leeds earn promotion under Bielsa but also being inconsistent in many games. Initially his loan spell at Everton started brightly but faded under the manger Sean Dyche where we was relegated to the subs bench and appearances were few and far between.

Since the return of David Moyes to Merseyside, Harrison has found himself back in the team as a regular starter and once again, form has started to return.
Leeds fans never take well to players who 'want away', and Harrison triggered his contract clause that allowed his to seek other clubs if Leeds were relegated, but if he does come back, he will be able to win over the Leeds fans again if he puts in the performances on the pitch. Brendan Aaronson and Max Wober are two players that have shown it is possible to win back the trust of the Leeds faithful, although I'm not sure what Jack Harrisons mum would have to do to be welcomed back at Elland Road!
Regardless, players returning to their parent club at the end of a loan spell is a technicality and does not reflect on plans for next season, The reality is that with Leeds winning promotion back to the EPL, what happens with Jack Harrison is back within the clubs control. If Danial Farke wants him with his team, Jack will be a Leeds player next season, but if there is no place for him, Leeds will look to offload through further loan deals or sales - and Everton may or may not come back calling.
Ultimately, it is up to the club to decide how to proceed, and however they do, I hope the fans will support that decision.
